Tally’s Jamaican Chicken

We stopped by when we were on this side of town, based on the positive Unilocal reviews. It is in a commercial area of town, and the food is served from a large food truck (take away). They have small or large portions of chicken, pork, or ribs. Smalls are $ 12 – 15 and larges $ 15 – 20. You get a container of meat with white bread (no veggies or sides). They have 3 sauces you can pour on top. The people were really nice and it smells amazing! There was a line when we arrived and when we left. Unfortunately, the pork was really dry. The sauce helped a bit, but I was pretty disappointed. The chicken was a bit juicier, but nothing to call home about.

There food is amazing… After living in Jamaica for a while I became a lover of Jerk everything… They hit it straight on with their seasoning smoking, and flavors… I almost come here once a week and when I miss a week I feel like it was an eternity. Lol… People have posted that it is shady where they are located but I have been there at 2am and have never had a problem. Maybe because it is prominently people with dark skin… Come on now… REALLY??? They have had a guy signing some nice reggae and it always lifts me up and sends me off with a smile… If you go late beware they tend to run out of pork and ribs… But u can a always get chicken… Portions are very generous… Well this us making me hungry… So off I go to get my Jerk on… Lol… Enjoy

Picked up a large chicken plate and large rib plate and its enough for 4 – 6 people. They are worthy of 5 stars if they at least had rice n beans. Nevertheless this spot is money.

The pork flavor was average and it is a bit pricey for the portion. Maybe I’ll give them another try.

Great food, and large portions. It was a jaunt of a drive for us but worth it. If we are ever in the area we would go again. Best bbq jerk I have ever had. Do not be intimidated by the neighborhood or the look of the place. Really worth it. they definitely know what they are doing here. Prices are worth it for how much you get. Also go early if you get quick service and plenty to eat.

Can’t go wrong with a good jerk pork or ribs. They have different sauces that you can indulge in after receiving your meat. The lines can get long. Go on a Thursday. They also run out of favorites and this is extremely annoying. One plus is that you walk away with a lot of meat whether you do a small or large. Don’t expect any frills… Meat, bread and a fork… Sauce if you choose.

Wasn’t aware place closes at 2 on a friday night, caught the guy closing shop, he offered some pork he had left chopped up and gave me at least half covered in fat and full of bones. Asshat could’ve turned me down but instead charges me full price

Called them around 130 am and they said theyre open. When i got there the guy said he only has pork that hasn’t been been put up yet and he doesnt want to cut the chicken nor ribs. so i settled for the pork and paid $ 12 plus tip. When i got home, i was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED because half of my portion was all fats! The food wasnt even warm and the meat was dry! I had high hopes because of other reviewers. to the other people that are reading this. TIP: Place closes around 145am on friday and it’s located in a really shady place.

Love this spot! We only had the Jerk Chicken but it was out of this world! Also, most of the customers were Jamaican which tells you all you need to know. I’ll be back for sure!

Absolutely impressed with the speed. In less than 3mins I had my chicken, pork and ribs combo. They have a table of sauces. This is the second time I try their bbq and its to die for! The slices of bread in the To go is s nice touch.

After a year of passing by this place I finally decided to give them a try they also had so many positive reviews on here that I just struck on impulse and swung by… I ordered a small jerk chicken which was actually pretty large for me, it was very tasty, as well as tender. I also used a little of all three sauces because I wasn’t sure on taste, but the sauce in the red ketchup looking bottle was my favorite. I will most definitely return as well as tell others I know.

Basically a trailer in the warehouse district.
Showed up on a Thursday around 7pm.
Only 3 other people in line, so didn’t have to wait much.
Ordered the large ribs and a small chicken.
Ribs were tender and cooked perfect. The chicken was classic jerk style & finger licking good!
I could of eaten for 3 days with the amount I was served!

Great jerk/​barbecue with good amount of food. Spicy to mild sauces. Take out food wagon might be the best in South Florida.

So I’ve had a lot of Jerk everything. I was looking for Jerk chicken from a grill. Found this place on Unilocal.Read reviews and went. Ordered small chicken which was alot… I would say it about ½ — ¾ of a chicken with hard dough bread. As far as Jerk well it not as Jerk flavored as it is smoked flavored. Not to say it wasn’t absolutely delicious but I still can’t find that Island barbeque Jerk chicken I know and love. But again it was still amazing. Chicken cooked perfectly… Meat fell right off the bone nd melts into ur mouth… YummY… Thier sauce made up for my loss of Jerk nd was made just right… Topped off but some delicious and fresh hard dough bread. This was my 1^st time but will not be my last… Not to mention everyone in the office stopped by the desk to taste it due to the delectable smell…

I’m surprised that I am just now reviewing this. I have been coming to Tally’s Food Truck Stand for a number of years (4) and I must say that if your looking for REAL jerk chicken, pork and ribs in South Florida… THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Let me start off by saying that they have made major improvements… I used to drive here and be in line for at least an hour and a half (yes an hour and a half — folks know good BBQ) and on top of that sometimes they would run out of food after waiting so long.
About a year or less ago I stopped going because I could no longer bare the long lines and food running out, but a few weeks ago I got a craving and to my surprise there are alot of changes. For one, THEY NOW ACCEPT CREDIT CARDSSSSSS, they also sell sides such as festivals (fried dough for lack of going into depth) and Jamaican sodas/​drinks. I have now went several times and have not had to wait in long lines so maybe they have corrected this issue or I’m just coming to early.
Food — This is Jerk BBQ at it’s finest. They have this huge BBQ Grill/​Drum right on the side of the truck where they grill the meat. The meat is well seasoned and cooked to perfection (juicy). A piece of yummy bread is placed in your to go plate. There are a number of hot sauces to choose from on the table, PLEASE BEWARE that some of them are intense so please sample them lightly before placing it all over your meat selection. You can obtain a plate of just one meat selection or you can make it a combo with two or three meat selections. I wish they would add fish to their menu.
Sometimes there is a guy there who sets up a table and you can purchase individual cake slices from him. Let me tell you, you dont wanna pass the cake up. It’s homemade and it’s damn good.
This place is not that expensive with prices ranging anywhere from $ 6 — $ 24.
You can call them in advance to ensure that they still have what you want to eat (305 761 3697). I don’t remember there days and hours but I know there available Thu, Fri and Sat and close really late (like around 2 or 3am).
If your into BBQ or into JERK… YOU NEED TO VISIT THIS PLACE. PERIOD.

Me and three of my friends came here on a Friday night for some jerk chicken! We walked out with a mountain of food served in styrofoam plates. For 23 dollars we got spare ribs, jerk pork and jerk chicken. It came with two slices of white bread. Everything was absolutely delicious! They offered a variety of hot sauces but I didn’t want to cover up the flavors! Very juicy, not dry! I would definitely come back… Btw… Cash only! Don’t be scared of it being off a truck in the warehouse district. It’s legit!

I am addicted to this jerk joint. Tally’s jerk is the truth. There is nothing else out there better than this. I have been to Jamaica and I have had all types of jerk but Tally’s is by far the very best I have ever had. I can’t eat jerk anywhere else. I crave it in my sleep. I swear I think they put something in it. The meat is always well marinated. I have had the pork and chicken jerk, both are delicious.

Best jerk chicken in town… When you come, order the chicken, pork, and ribs combo. You can pour their home made sauce all over the top… AMAZING!!!

So, it’s 11 PM. Do you know where your jerk chicken is? If it’s lost, its probably at Tally’s. You really have to be in the know to find this spot, but it does get popular @ nite. I’m told the best time for ribs and pork is between 7 – 8 PM, else you are stuck with chicken. But then again, the chicken is not bad at all. Think better rotisserie chicken.
Tip: Make sure to bring cash. and take a lot of that spicy hot sauce on the table to the side. And use plenty of napkins. :P
