I had a group stop in after a long weekend with a group of 8. We sat outside and received great service and were very happy with all of the food selections all around the table. Although we were in for lunch and weren’t drinking, as per usual I checked out the list and they have a killer beer and cocktail list! I went with the Deviled eggs to start which were delicious, topped with bacon and jalapeño and my main coarse was the tipsy boar burger which was pork with pork and pork, you do the math… delicious! Also the service was quick, informative, and patient with our somewhat indecisive group. I would highly recommend stopping in for the food, but it looked like the happy hour is really where you get the most bang for your buck. If I am back in the area again, I will be there to check it out!

Love it! Great for any visit to Hollywood! One street off but on the better of the two — Harrison St. Try the bacon wrapped dates to start! You CANNOT go wrong. :)

This time around I really enjoyed our visit here. We has a great Waiter Carlos who was so attentive. Our food came out fast and everything was amazing. The spicy Mango Pineapple Shrimp was out of this world. We will return again definitely.

The lobster Mac and cheese was flipping delicious! Deanna was our server and she was such a pleasure: hardworking and really enthusiastic about the food. Will definitely be coming back!

Good burguers. Service on point. Great selección of beer. First time I had the burguer that comes with pulled pork and the works… It’s amazing and overwhelming in a good way. You can actually share it. Las time, my sister ordered it and she was very happy. My hubby ordered a very nice and reach Salad. The only problem there were the canned mandarines. The rest was on point and yummy, he just left the orange things untouched on the side. I ordered pizza. Coming from al Italian family I’m very difficult to please. This one was ok. It wasn’t bad. The dough /crust wasn’t my favorite but I guess it can be appreciated as a restaurant pizza and not a street greasy pizza. The size was wired. Not big, not personal(smaller). Good for sharing. In my case half was boxed for lunch next day. But beers… Here is where the have the guns! Selection is huge and diverse. We like to try different every time. Some of them are appetizers on their on… LOL Place is nice, modern, tall tables not my favourite way to eat, but I get the concept. My only advice to this place too… Just shut down the goddam tv’s!!! I wish we can have dinner without a TV on in every single place!

Server was very knowledgeable on the beer on tap which was 40 beers. I had the pulled pork dish, I would say it was alright but I would recommend beer #8, 27 and 16. Good ambiance, good music prompt service.

I came here with my cousins and we were starving and decided to eat American food and this place looked right for us. It’s located in Harrison street in Hollywood. When we entered we have been welcomed by a nice hostess that guided us to our table outside. The place looks great, big. Inside they have places at the bar and tables as well. The menu as you can see in the pictures it’s big and it has lot of dishes but what surprised me was that they ve got lot of kind of beers. The server came in our table and introduced us the restaurant. They have beers written on the board and he explained us that the beers change everyday. So we ordered one of them(I don’t remember the name of it). Food: We ordered 2 all American which is hamburger with American cheese vegetables and ketchup and it comes with French fries. And we ordered a burger slides which are 3 mini burgers with vegetables. The food was amazing the meat was great and so the cheese. The French fries wonderful and same thing for the vegetables. Service: The service was good, the hostess very kind and our server as well. We have been welcomed in a nice way and the server did his work amazingly. Most of all was a great experience and I left the place happy. Why 4 stars? Because we were starving and to get our food we have been waiting a life, almost one hour and I ve got a bit nervous. But I ll give it another chance and try it again to update this review to a 5 stars. Ps. I really suggest this place.

I was planning a group dinner for a friend visiting from out of town and I wanted a place close to the Miami area since we were all heading to Wynwood later that night. My Unilocaler friend Savanna M. luckily knows the Hollywood area well and suggested Tipsy Boar. I called and made a reservation for about 10 people and they were very accommodating and even knew my name when we arrived(well almost but that’s another story lol). My first impression of this restaurant was that it was a «cool» place to hang out and dine. It’s darker inside and lit up with different lights all over. We sat outside but the cool vibe was still there. We had a super sweet waitress that easily kept up with our food and drink demands so that just made the experience that much better. I started with their version of an old fashion and it was VERY good. I am very particular about my drinks and this one was made very well(I had 2 lol). Everyone else at the table seemed pretty happy with their drinks as well. Since there were so many of us we mostly just shared several items aside from the lobster mac and cheese. This I only shared with one friend because it was too good and I would say for a table of 10 we ordered 3 – 4 so it was a big hit! Food Like I said the Lobster Mac and Cheese was amazeballs. Super cheesy and a good amount of lobster on top, it was also served with a little bread to dip. Very much a dish of indulgence but TOTALLY worth it, so do yourself a favor and order it! Parmesan Truffle Fries were really good actually but we ordered a side of blue cheese dressing. I highly recommend doing this because it made the fries that much better. Savor Duck Wings were 50⁄50 at the table some liked them some didn’t. Personally I thought they were really good and kinda wished I ordered a plate just for myself. Crudiola Pizza and I also tried another pizza(forgot the name) but it was ok. Not the best pizza I have every had and not the worst but I am Italian so I can be picky with my pizza. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely go back to the Tipsy Boar again. It seemed like one of the more hip places to hang out in Hollywood for sure.

Food is great and has a diverse beer selection. The food menu is good and has a little something for everyone. Tried the Margarita pizza and it was authentic delicious. If you want fast service I don’t suggest sitting at the bar. They get a little busy and you have to flag them down for things. I’ve been at the bar twice and once at a table. Table service was much faster.

Solid bar food I went with the goat cheese croquettes which were really good with some type of marmalade on the side to dip them if i recall it tasted like orange. For my entrée I got the fresh mahi mahi sandwich with truffle fries ! This is a must order ! Plenty of inside and outside seating and the parking lot in the back makes it very convenient. The one thing I would say pass on the the bacon corn bread tasted a bit dry to me.

If Lobster Mac N’ Cheese *Were Heaven* Than I’d Die By The Tusks Of A Tipsy Boar! SITREP That’s also beginning to sound a LOT like a Season #1 «Baratheon Hunting Trip» episode, does it not, my fellow Game of Thrones(GoT) fans? But this is actually a tale that takes place in Hollywood, FL, and not within the seven(7) kingdoms of Westeros. Though I must admit, my beautiful dining companion — Savannah M. — bore a STRIKING resemblance to Daenerys Stormborn(of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons). THESETUP Okay oKay! Enough of GoT… and on to STARWARS! :D There was enough bright shiny lights, and a cool vibe like a Tatooine Cantina! But seriously, it is a fun spot with lots of charm!(And luckily, no bodies of Bounty Hunters found slumped over any tables…) ;) *TRUESTORY* Our stop here was actually preceded in time with some hiLARity when our wondrous leader in this dinner-event — the ever-so lovely & energized Jenn S. — had previously made contact with the Tipsy Boar hostess to make the reservation. When Jenn followed up, we were SO amused when the hostess kept referring to Jenn as «Louisa», like she was some ~HAWT~ Salsa Queen. So WE kept calling(and STILL call) her«Louisa»! LEMENU First the beverages! * My lovely companion had a refreshing Cucumber Lime Sage Martini; * While I had a Burnt Orange Magarita, oh YUM! And then the FOOOD! . * As I headlined above, the Lobster Mac N Cheese was pretty spectacular(to me, anyways!) and much better than the three(3) or four(4) other times I’ve had it at other dinner spots in California. It was CHEEESYFANTASTICO! * I think the Savor Duck Wings were actually the most unusual item for me since I don’t often on occasion eat duck. I think it was good for the most part. with a richer«fowl”-taste(ie. deeper savory than chicken) for me which I don’t often explore. But oddly, one of those acquired tastes I can see growing the more you have it. * Loved the Shrimp Tacos! But I believe we agreed they the side jam-sauce was a bit too sweet, and perhaps lose the jam for some other spicy-medium(different sauce, like an oil or an aioli). *Crudiola Pizza was okay — I grew up on pizza in New York City(Sicilian), and I’m spoiled on pizza back in California(both Deep-Dish & Nouveau-stylings in «Italiano» North Beach SF), and so honestly, I blame MYSELF for never being impressed with pizza out SF these days. But clearly my companions LOVED it. And putting my biases aside, I WOULD come back here for their pizza for sure. THELOWDOWN A great place to experience some of the best cuisines I’ve had in Florida!

In a nutshell: amazing food, good location, & great service. Everything on the menu is excellent. Extended version: Came for a UYE get together and left a forever fan. The lobster Mac-n-cheese was the show stopper of the night. The artisan 4 cheese blend, generous chunks of Maine lobster and textured spiral noodles all mix in harmony to make this mouth watering and big dish. You should not leave here without trying it. The other contenders of the night were the duck wings, parmesan truffle fries, shrimp tacos, meatza pizza, & crudaiola pizza. All of them get two thumbs up! The duck wings were flavorful and the meat just falls off the bone. The parmesan truffle fries have a thin crunchy outside encasing a delicous soft inside, the shrimp tacos are extremely fresh. The meatza pizza is all about the meats! And lastly, the crudaiola pizza(my #2 pick of the night)…the arugula & prosciutto pairing was genius, and the crust was decadent(and I don’t eat crusts).

Looks like it’s time to update my review! Although there were some menu items that still weren’t amazing, overall things were definitely better than my first experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Note to self, this would be a good place to watch the NBA playoffs/finals etc. My good friend Jenn S. was looking for a low-key spot in Hollywood to eat at, so I suggested The Tipsy Boar. True, I wasn’t overly impressed with my previous visit, but I knew this place had the right vibe, and I’ve been mentally noting all the solid Unilocal reviews since my last visit. She called and was able to make a reservation for a large party on the outside patio. Perfect! And again, back to it being a good place to watch sports, we sat right under a tv and had a great spot for dining and tv watching! The menu has been slightly changed since my last visit(which I think is a positive). They do boast some great sounding cocktails, but since everything was gin or vodka for the most part I stuck with my go-to Bacardi and Coke. Also, the beers on tap change often and are only listed inside, so a few of us took a trip to the bar to see what they had available. I must also note here that our server was awesome! She checked in frequently, said she could easily split checks at the end, was a-ok with us not ordering all at once, but spacing things out, and really made the whole night quite great. Again, MUCH better service than my previous visit. What we ate —(at the least the items I had bites of lol) **Lobster Mac and Cheese — I think there were 9 of us for dinner? And we ordered 4 of these lol. Truly, this was good Lobster Mac and Cheese! **Shrimp Tacos — A-ok. I’d order these again, but they weren’t that special. I’d suggest changing from a spicy jam to a spicy aioli, but that’s just my opinion lol. **Duck Wings — I liked these a lot! I think the presentation could be improved, but they sure were tasty. **Pork Belly Sliders — again A-ok, though slightly better than the tacos in my opinion. I’d very likely get these again. **Crudiola Pizza — a bit salty for my taste. I’d pick a different pizza next time, but overall the crust, the toppings were very good. Long story short… I’ll be back!

Found this place through ELite Unilocalers review. Food: We ended up ordering several hot appetizers such as bacon dates, lamb croquettes, bacon deviled eggs, and goat cheese croquettes. The appetizers turned out to be phenomenal except for the bacon dates. We had overcooked dried bacon dates. The bacon deviled eggs was delicious and well balanced. For the entrée, we ended up ordering the mahi mahi blackened sandwich with Parmessan truffle fries. The fish was cooked to perfection and the fries was amazing. IT was fresh fries and it was not overly salty. Overall, the food was great. The pricing for the food was okay; not so great for the appetizers for the value.(3.5÷5) Service: We had a new waiter. He informed us that he was new to work and warned us to be patience with him. He actually did a pretty darn good job with paying attention to details such as water refill, picking up plates, and coming to see if we needed anything. So the restaurant is doing a fine job training their staff.(4.5÷5) Atmosphere: This place has a full bar, tvs, and a great outdoor seating area. I enjoyed sitting outside peacefully and not surrounded with cigarette smoke. The place is decorated well and set up well. Although it was a bit cluster in the inside, the bar looked nice.(4⁄5) Overall, I would come back again for a late dinner or casual dine in.

Good food, bad cocktails, strange service. The food: French onion burger and wings app were good. Fries great. The drinks: Started off on the wrong foot with my drink order. I asked for grey goose served up with muddled strawberries and limes.(There is a drink on the menu promising muddled strawberries, so I assumed they had fresh strawberries). My drink came out looking like V8. I took a sip and it was pure strawberry purée with a splash of vodka. Waitress said they don’t have fresh strawberries. The service: I returned my drink and when the waitress came back with a slightly better drink, she said, «Hope you like this one because this is too much grey goose to waste girl.» Rude. Then I asked for extra napkins(we had ordered burgers and wings) and she literally pinched my mother’s napkins on the table to see if there was more than 1! Ridic!

SO many reasons to give major love to Tipsy Boar. For starters, the food is EXCELLENT. Have you ever frequented a restaurant to occasionally stumble upon a day where the food or service isn’t so great? Well I have been frequenting Tipsy Boar for almost a year now, and let me tell you, it seems like the food and service gets better and better each time. It’s located on Hollywood’s charming Harrison street in downtown and has both indoor and outdoor(covered) seating with plenty of TVs to watch sports games like football, UFC fights, etc. You can sit at the bar, high tables, or regular dining tables. The restaurant is fairly small and gives that cozy, hipster, local feel, but not too small where you’re on the brink of claustrophobia. Like I stated, the food is impeccable and only gets better each time I visit. I’m a HUGE fan of their steak and guacamole. What’s also a hit, based on the words of those who have dined with me there, is their seafood. Literally every and any dish… from the lobster mac and cheese to the salmon w/mashed sweet potato. I’m talking licking the plate people. Not to mention their yummy cocktails that pair perfectly. My favorite is the cucumber mojito. Bottom line… Tipsy Boar has and will continue seeing me A LOT.

Had a great seat outside on an overcast and breezy evening. Service was awkward, with us being greeted by two different servers. Wishing we had tried the second one as the first server kept forgetting our bar drinks and didn’t check on us very often. When we did get out drinks and food, wow, were they good. Loved the goat cheese croquettes and the deviled eggs, but the duck wings stole the show. I really do think that is my new favorite food. Old Fashioneds were excellent. The wife’s Moscow Mule was very heavy on the ginger — almost had a patchouli essence to it. Unsure what caused that. Would definitely come back, and overall good experience.

I went on a Saturday night at 9pm for some food. The place was about 80% full. They have many TV’s showing football games. We sat on the front porch. The inside was quite loud. The menu offers a great variety of options. We went with the onion burger… caramelized onions and swiss cheese and topped with croutons! It came with fries for $ 12. It was a good quality burger. Wine was $ 8 and a blueberry beer was a bit pricy for the area. There are many other items on the menu I want to try so I will be returning(bread pudding, skillet cornbread)

8÷11÷2015 — Review is for the Beer Dinner Event hosted by Tipsy Boar and Green Flash Brewery. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess; she checked us in and walked us to our table. The tables are in the middle back part of the restaurant. It was a four top, so we realized we would be seated with other guests. The table setting was great; it had literature from Green Flash with info on their brews, the evening’s Menu, a survey, and Green Flash glasses as souvenirs. Dave Adams, Director of Beer Education at Green Flash was our host. He spoke about the beer, the history, the making of, before every course. He was great. The only thing was that because it was inside the restaurant and there were other patrons, it was hard at times to hear Dave. He was so nice and kept moving to the back and the front of the group to make sure we all heard. A microphone would have been great. Not too loud but enough for everyone to hear. Maybe a bull horn??? LOL 1st Course, Belgian Endive Leaves Stuffed with Goat Cheese Candied Walnuts and a Balsamic Glaze paired with Fresco Sauvage. As Dave called it… his lawn mower beer. It was very crisp and fresh. The salad was delicious, you could pick up the endives with your hands but cutting them up and mixing them up with the rest of the salad was best. 2nd course, Seared Diver Scallop, Seared Asparagus with a Spicy Thai Sauce, paired with Hop Odyssey Mosaic. The sauce was very spicy for my taste but the beer helped neutralize the spiciness. I could not stop eating it; the scallop itself was cooked perfectly. 3rd Course, Wild Boar Sausage served with Sautéed Escarole and Garlic Cloves paired with Le Freak. This was my favorite beer; it’s a Belgian Style Imperial IPA. It was my first time eating wild boar sausage. The sausage needed a sauce but the sausage itself had a little kick to it. 4th Course, Beef Bourgeon atop a Salted Potato Cake paired with Palate Wrecker-Imperial IPA. This dish was amazing, the beef was so tender, as soon as your fork touched it, it would just fall apart. The potato cake… I could eat 2 or 3 of this. Great dish! 5th Course, Sour Cherry Tart paired with Flanders Drive. This was my least favorite beer. It had a vinegary after taste. Our table guests called it «ketchup». He is studying to be a cicerone and gave his take on all beers. I am not a cherry pie, tart, person but this was off the charts. 6th Beer of the evening, Double Stout-Black Ale. It had hints of bittersweet chocolate and coffee. Mmmmm. Overall, great event, we met some cool people, learned a lot about beer and Green Flash Brewery and ate some yummy food. It’s a Win-Win!!! SPECIALSHOUTOUT to the Tipsy Boar staff who worked very hard during the event filing up our water glasses, taking away plates, bringing dish after dish and beer after beer and especially for asking«How’s everything?» «How’s this course?» GREATJOB!!!

The Tipsy Boar took me on an international culinary trip lol…, the menu is so unique I find it to be refreshing that you didn’t see the typical bar food. I must note the ambiance. It’s a chill place where you can vibe. They play great music(at least when I visited) and you either sit inside and enjoy the long, full bar, or hang outside. The patio seating sort of wraps around the restaurant. There are also high tops on the street front, bistro style. We sampled a few things Peking Style Duck Wings– These wings are huge. Great presentation. The sauce is sweet and tangy. They stayed true to the«Crispy» they describe on the menu. You’ll have somewhat of an oriental flavor with these. Duck has a unique taste, which you will experience after all of the delicious BBQ sauce. They were good, but you have to like duck to really enjoy these. Truffle Deviled Eggs– These were amazing! I am ashamed to admit, but I had never had deviled eggs before. I’m glad these were the first ones I tried! What a nice way of changing up a classic. The truffle was definitely there, and the bacon gives the perfect crunch texture you need. Jalapeño added that nice heat too. Order these! Lamb Gyro Croquettes– OK now we’re in Greece lol. These are heavy I must admit. I can’t put my finger on it. The favor is good, really good. They were also very generous with the lamb, but I think it’s the richness of this gamy protein that made it heavy. The Tzatziki really helped balance this out(well played Tispy Boar). These are worth a try! Crudiola Pizza– By far my favorite thing we ordered. This pizza is enough for two to share. The dough was crispy, topped with a generous amount Parmesan and Ricotta cheese, but still balanced. The Prosciutto was very fresh, good quality, not full of fat, but actual cured ham! The arugula on top was excellent. Added the freshness you needed. This pizza is delicious! Bread Pudding– not a fan. It wasn’t freshly baked. It was actually served cold for some reason. They served it with vanilla ice cream which was nice, but nothing to rave about. The bread pudding had all the right ingredients, but why serve it cold? Not a fan. Overall had a nice experience, at a low key place. I would return to have a few beers from the extensive collection and sample some more food. Enjoy!
