Great music, great food. Simple as that. My family is from New Orleans and owns a restaurant there(Dooky Chase), so my pallet for good Louisiana Creole is very refined. The jumbalaya is supreme and the red beans and rice andouille is perfect and spicy. Might I suggest more powdered sugar on the beignets? Also they are a bit dry. Overall, I surely recommend this place to anyone hands down.

Walked by this place after dinner so decided to go in for a drink. Nice beer selections, the place seemed to be pretty popular as there were a lot of people during dinner time. Didn’t try any food there but just might try a few appetizer the next time I stop by for a beer or two.

Less than impressed. If you are familiar with New Orleans style food DON’T go here. The jambalaya had no flavor. It was spicy, but that isn’t what makes jambalaya. The restaurant is trying hard to imitate New Orleans but it comes up short. We both ordered meals that are standard New Orleans fare, but didn’t taste anything like you would get if you actually went there. The dishes were bland at best. We boxed our food and ended up throwing away the leftovers upon returning home. Service was decent, and the beer list is pretty long. This seemed like a place where a few people go to hang out, drink, and watch people walk by. The restaurant was pretty empty considering the number of people on the street.

We went with a group of people for their Sunday Brunch, what a disappointment. I ordered an omelet and it took 2 hrs to get the food. I ordered it cooked without oil it was in grease. My friend ordered the same and it had egg shells in her omelet and another women’s came just barely warm. When the woman who had the egg with shells told them to bring it back, they 1st charged her full price and then she said she wouldn’t pay anymore than half price. In my opinion I think the manager, who we asked to speak to, never came over, should of comped her meal and brought another omelet. Don’t go there for the food, unless you are prepared to sit and wait a long time. Much better places on Hollywood Blvd.

We went here on 4⁄20. We had several things :-) couldn’t decide on just one. The crab cakes were awesome and the tuna sashimi was very fresh and fantastic. The spinach salad and gumbo were excellent, very flavorful. Our server was Fabiana and she was very helpful with decisions and patient while we decided. The overall experience was fantastic we will definitely be back.

We had dinner here a few weeks ago using a Groupon. I was underwhelmed with the service and the food. Admittedly, our was new to the restaurant but she appeared to have never served anyone before anywhere either which did not help our experience. This meal was easily the most disappointing of all the meals I had during my latest trip to Florida. We ordered what I would have expected to be the signature dishes of this restaurant — the Shrimp Po Boy and the Jambalaya. The best I can say about these dishes were that they were edible. The Jambalaya was rather bland and the shrimp in the Po Boy were overcooked and cold by the time our waitress served us. The live entertainment and the large patio are a plus but they are not enough to draw me back to this establishment.

I went here on a Saturday night with 3 other people. It wasn’t very crowded, Across the Universe, a Beatle’s tribute band, played that night and they are fantastic! We ordered several appetizers — loaded potatoes, chili, spinach salad, and Caprese salad — all were delicious! I ordered Jambalaya and they ordered Shirmp Poboy and fish dishes. Everything was prepared perfectly and the portions were large so we had leftovers. We had wine, good food and great music — all in all a wonderful experience. I highly recommend the Big Easy.

My girlfriend likes the fried fish so we had been several times. It’s good, not great, but good. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the Thanksgiving dinner that we had there last night. The turkey was, for lack of a better word, mealy. You could easily cut it with a fork, maybe it was some sort of pre-processed meat, I really don’t know. The gravy was mediocre and the portion stingy, the dressing was not all that good either. The email promotion showed a whole turkey cooked golden brown; the picture looked good enough to eat. Being dark meat fans, both my gal and I asked for dark meat, most places that serve turkey can’t give it away so it’s usually available, not here. That being another thing that makes me lean toward it being pre-processed meat rather than fresh. It will probably be a while, if ever, before we return.

I go in for an early happy hour as it’s steps from my office. Go see the bar girl Laura. She is very personable and attractive and she’ll make you a strong drink which makes her look even better! It’s usually quiet for lunch– I’ve ordered to go food a bunch of times and it’s always great.

As a native New Orleanian and a resident of Hollywood, I was excited to learn about The Big Easy. Sadly, as others have noted here, the food in no way even approximates the amazing cuisine from my home town. That said, we had a good meal — and enjoyed the live entertainment(Holly & the Hubcaps the day we were there). Outdoor seating is nice in downtown Hollywood, on a nice day. So while I was a little disappointed in the food offering, overall we enjoyed ourselves.(Note: we were especially sorry to learn that they no longer had the oyster po-boy we saw on their online menu). If you’re heading for Hollywood and are looking for a relaxed place for decent food and good entertainment, check it out. Just don’t expect THE Big Easy at The Big Easy.

I have been to Big Easy many, many times. The most recent menu items tried included the cheese platter appetizer and the fried calamari. The cheese platter was sizable and abundant, and made for great picking along with my perfectly made Cosmopolitans. SCORE! The food is consistently good, and reasonably priced. The flavor is consistently delicious. Nice venue for live music. Most recently I visited to hear up-n-coming child-phenom Kaylee Rose do her thing. Google her and check her out on YouTube. She has skills, and the venue is made for intimate, live music. I have always had great service here. I’ve had numerous business meetings here as there are an abundance of places to maneuver, from the bar area, to inside-in-the-back dining, to the huge outdoor section. Awesome people watching. Especially outside.

Downtown Hollywood is a pretty lively neighborhood full of many restaurants and bars, one of the which is Big Easy Bar and Grille. New Orleans is at the top of my list of places I haven’t visited in the United States, so was very interested in dining here so that I could experience New Orleans style food and fun! I was having a relaxing Sunday at Arts Park with my boyfriend, and we were getting hungry, so we decided to head there to eat. The restaurant was fairly big and decorated with décor that I would expect a typical Bourbon Street bar to look like. It helped set the mood and the vibe made you want to get in on the fun. As we entered the door, we were greeted warmly and seated. Our server came to the table and was just friendly. He was really nice, very helpful, recommend dishes and came back often to ensure that we were having a good time. The menu itself was not what I was expecting. They offer a variety of classic American dishes, a couple of completely unrelated dished that made no sense to be on the menu but very few Cajun dishes. We started off our meal with the Buffalo Anchor Bar Chicken Wings(hot). The sauce had flavor beyond heat, so they were very good. I am a sucker for wings and spicy food so it was a win for me. My boyfriend ordered the 12oz NY Strip Steak. The steak itself was tender and pretty good but the mashed potatoes and the not so appetizing gravy were not. I wanted the Cajun experience so I ordered the Big Easy Jambalaya. It was huge. It consisted of shrimp, chicken & andouille sausage in a creole tomato sauce, over rice with a cornbread muffin on the side. The cornbread was very good. It was moist and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Jambalaya arrive hot which is always a plus. I am not a huge fan of tomato based dished but I enjoyed this one a lot. It was not only very spicy and flavorful, but delicious. We also ordered two drinks, a Long Island and a Mojito. The Long Island was decent but the Mojito was very watered down so I did not enjoy it at all. I heard that they have live Jazz and Blues music most nights, but we unfortunately missed it. The band just started playing when we were heading out the door. Regardless, Big Easy Bar & Grille was a solid meal, so you are sure to have a good time when a band is playing.

With a name like Big Easy I had expected the food to be a reasonable duplication of what I have when in Na’ Orleans, but not even close; just sort of a nice try at it, but a try that misses the mark. However, that isn’t to say that the food isn’t good because even though I didn’t find anything authentic Big Easy about it, it was good food anyway. The crab cakes are nice and the calamari isn’t bad either. On other points, Big Easy is a rather spacious place, clean and with a pleasant pleasing wait staff.

Easy to find and completely empty during the lunch hour. As i walked in one customer was exiting. The waitress wasn’t very friendly nor helpful. I had to get her attention to be seated and get a menu. I ordered their shrimp po boy with fries, a heineken. Happy hour was beer was ½ priced and drinks 2 for 1. After I placed my order I guess the waitress wasn’t so busy and made small talk with me. Told me a little about the restaurant and specials/events. We chatted throughout my meal and earned cool points with me. Perhaps she was bored, but I enjoyed it. I look forward to returning. Now the food was delicious! Flavored perfectly. Just try it!

Had the Gumbo and Beef on Weck. The gumbo was delicious and the sandwich was pretty good but the fries were cold and stale as soon as I got the plate and the baked beans were clearly straight out of a can. As for the service, it was very slow and unattentive, especially for how few customers there were.

After being here 4 – 5 times, I realized this restaurant has clearly became one of my favorite downtown Hollywood and definitely needs a review. The thing that keeps drawing me back to the Big Easy is its overall value. There’s a bar area for the drinking crowd and the sport fans. You can also dine outdoors, a good people perch to watch the bustle on Hollywood Blvd. My wife and I prefer inside the restaurant, a few tables from the stage so we can enjoy the music and still be able to carry-on a conversation. The service is always attentive and professional. Make the reservation for 8:45 on a weekend, your drinks will arrive just when the band kicks off the opening act. The food is just above average, but the portions are generous. We have enough leftovers for one or two more meals. If you keep to the low-country/Cajun side of the menu, you’ll do a little better since there are very few competitors in this locale. Again, the charm of the Big Easy is the atmosphere. It’s always lively with the band playing, but still intimate enough for conversations. I wish the low-country/Cajun dishes weren’t toned down for us Floridians. When the place starts to rock, you see couples start dancing in front of the stage or around the spaces next to the tables. Good, unpretentious fun. By chance my wife and I always have a certificate or coupon which really enhances the value. We always leave thinking, «that was a lot of fun for the money».
Quick tips: you can snatch a discount coupon on South Florida Dines. Also, try Taylor(one street to the north) for parking. A little tricky because it’s one-way, which is the reason why there are parking spaces even on a busy weekend.

This place must not read the reviews about them. I don’t undertsnad how you can have a restaraunt that clearly depends heavily on the bar for business and yet has only 1 crappy beer on draft(maybe it was 2 but still). The red beans and rice were just ok, being edible was its only redeeming quality. I would sooner drive up to Shuck n’ Dive before going back. On a plus, I was in on a Friday night a few weeks back and they had a great band playing.

I had a Groupon for this restaurant, so me and a friend headed down to Hollywood to check this out. The Hollywood area and all the weird circular streets annoys the hell out of me, so thankfully this was incredibly easy to find. You have to pay for street parking, but if I were more familiar with the area, I’m sure there’s something nearby that’s free. We sat down and began checking out the menu while we waited for our server. We decided to get some drinks, and our server was incredibly knowledgeable and nice. I asked for a beer recommendation, and after a few quick questions about what I like, I was presented with something that must have been Heaven in a liquid form. Unfortunately, I had too much Heaven and now I can’t remember the name. My friend wanted a martini but couldn’t decide which one, so the server suggested his favorite and said if she didn’t like it he’d make her a new one for free — can’t argue with that! The one she got was overly sweet, so she switched over to a classic apple flavor and loved it. We shared the portobello ravioli, and I highly, highly recommend that dish to anyone who’s dining here. They were cooked perfectly, but I wish the portion was a little bigger for the price. We had excellent service throughout our meal, and a great experience overall. Come here on a day when the weather is nice and take advantage of their outside seating area, but be sure to check out the awesome paintings inside before you leave! You can make a reservation on their website, and this might be ideal on a busy night like Friday or Saturday, but its a pleasant mix of «not too full» and«not too empty» during the afternoon.

I first visited New Orleans last year I could not love enough that city. Can’t wait to go back. So, when I heard that New Orleans style Big Easy was coming to town I got really exited. And it could not be better. The restaurant is excellent. The outside sitting allow us to smoke an after dinner cigar, plus the full bar and the music. I love the Gumbo and the Jambalaya. I am so please that this variety have been added to downtown.
