Food came out wrong and my beef bulgogi was extremely greasy and fatty. Weird, on Unilocal the bulgogi looked very delicious as well as the bigger portion. Wow what a disappointment. I also had seafood soup which tasted ok but there like six empty shells with no real meat actually in it and they were placed on top. no mussels either whatsoever. one shrimp with no debris taken out. Our waitress was nice though.

Hole in the wall type of place: very small, not a good place for a date. However, the food is made from scratch, everything is fresh. I ordered black bean noodles, and rice cake beef soup. Loved the soup. Noodles are not bad, but not outstanding

Went back and had such bad service I actually had to leave on principal. After waiting some 20 minutes, I did not get greeted, receive a menu, or even have my table cleaned from the last patron. Some Korean people came in and were waited on immediately. I think service here depends on your race/nationality. I will not be back. No food is worth being treated in such a manner.

Three.six.seven stars. I was actually looking for Joa Korean Cuisine. They both have the same address and what I’m assuming is that U Know Korean Bistro had actually taken over the spot over the last three years and the location has been there for around ten years. Now, this place is really hard to find. I’ve heard about this location almost a decade ago before I had moved to New York and ten years later had finally tried it out. So if you’re looking for Joa, you’re actually looking for U Know Korean Bistro. It’s in a dying plaza right of 441/S-R a little bit south of Hollywood Boulevard. There is a Denny’s in the plaza in the middle of the parking lot and it’s next to a Korean hair salon in the plaza. If you can find the Denny’s and the plaza you’ll find it. So when talking about a «mom & pop» restaurant, this is definitely it. But instead of mom & pop it seems it only seems to be the mom & daughter. Pretty sure I heard her screaming« !» a few times. I think the mom must be doing most of the cooking while the daughter is the waitress. Even though it’s a tiny hole in the wall probably seating a total twenty max, you will need some patience if it really is only the daughter serving. Things can get busy if there are three to four tables filled with customers. Don’t expect some fancy décor the way you’d find in the Koreatowns of New York or Los Angeles. This really is a hole-in-the-wall and it’s quite homely inside. I had the galbi, sam gyup sal, and some veggie fried rice. Overall they were pretty good. Felt like the galbi could have marinated a little longer. The sam gyup sal was nice and oily and fatty the way I like it. The veggie fried rice was good, pretty similar to the typical fried rice you’d get at a Chinese restaurant. I wish their ban chan was a little better. Although there was a good eight dishes, it was super sparse on the kimchi. So if you’re in the area and don’t mind hole-in-the-walls and want something different, check this place out.

We loved the food here. The last times we ate here, we were the only people in the restaurant. The place is dingy, understaffed, and prejudiced. If you are anything other than Korean you will be served LAST if you are acknowledged at all. We waited 20 minutes at our table without a menu. A Korean couple came in, was seated immediately, given menus and set ups and had their order taken. The server COMPLETELY ignored us. I brought it to her attention and she simply kept servicing the Korean couple. Although she made eye contact with us, she never greeted us, never supplied a menu, never set up our table, nothing. We will never return. It could be the best food in the state and the service is so bad it ensures no non-Korean repeat customers. Perhaps that is the intention.

If you love Korean food, this is the place for you. In fact, migrating from Los Angeles and being close to K town, this place felt very familiar. Let me tell you that I am not a huge fan of Korean cuisine. In fact, this place is located in a very odd part of town and it is slap right in between, are you ready? The location is a hole in the wall and borders an adult bookstore and a church. No joke! They play K-pop on tv and take requests, if you are into that. The crowd and staff was authentic and they actually had good food. The rates were slightly high, in my humble opinion, but the staff of one was wonderful. I recommend this if you love Korean food and culture!

Great food with super friendly service. Ordered: Beef soup with rice cakes and dumplings-I really loved this. The broth was flavorful and gentle. Plus you can’t go wrong with rice cakes. Grilled squid with vegetables– The surprise stand out of the night. The sauce was divine Grilled beef — very tasty and love the lettuce wraps Appetizer spicy tofu– I want to order this every time. The sauce on top of the tofu was delicious. I love the fact that it came with greens in the center I can’t wait to go back!

I’ve been to this restaurant at least twice a month since I moved to Hollywood and have loved every meal from the bi bim bop to the khan pung gi. There’s always some K-Pop streaming on the TV. They’re not stingy with their banchan plates. The waitress is very sweet and on the ball. Prices are low. Worst part about the whole experience is the location, dead center between a strip mall church and an adult video store, not that you can tell once you’re inside. Also, they’re closed on Sundays.

My daughter had a taste for Korean food and so her search began. So happy she found this little hole-in-the-wall. No fancy décor or service but this place does the food right. I ordered the spicy seafood soup, the broth was delicious and they didn’t skimp on the seafood. The neighboring tables’ kimchi pancake looked really good too. As with most places, they serve complimentary banchan. Great food, great service and reasonable prices. Will definitely come back to try other things on the menu.

This restaurant is truly your hole in the wall with very limited seating. However, do we go to restaurants for the looks of the interior or food. I would much rather have a great meal inside a small place. Then over priced food thats not so great in an establishment that looks good. Seriously, what are we paying for at that point the rent for a crap meal? I could eat here everyday! The food is light and fresh and doesn’t have you feeling lethargic after your meal. It just hits the spot. We ordered the seafood soup spicy, steemed dumplings and the shredded beef. Everything was truly amazing. The prices I believe are reasonably priced too.

For some reason, Google Maps tried to put this place in Daytona on my phone, but you can’t fool me! I managed to find it quite easily, very convenient to the turnpike. It’s a small place, seats 28 according to my chair census. A very diverse clientele, ethnically speaking. I take that as a good sign when EVERYONE likes your food. It’s a very clean restaurant, although it is located in a strip mall that looks like it could be a wee bit sketchy. I had fried dumplings and dolsot bibimbap. The dumplings were fried a little crisper than I like, but were still tasty and fresh. The dolsot bibimbap was an ample portion that was a little bland out of the gate, but that’s what Korean chili sauce is for, no? I would have preferred it with shredded, rather than ground, beef, but that’s not to take away from it. It was good, and my belly was happy when I was done. Don’t know why other reviewers bad-talked the waitress(the young lady with the glasses). She was attentive, pleasant, and unobtrusive. Can’t ask for much more than that from a waitress. It’s a 30 mile or so drive from my house, but it was worth the drive and I’ll make the trek again.

I’m not a Korean but this place seems pretty authentic! It’s located in a shopping plaza that has quite a few Asian restaurants and businesses. My sister and I went and she got to work this and I got the kimchee rice. It also came with a bunch of the size for us to taste and add to our meal which were delicious. The serverwas polite and nice but I feel that she could’ve been more attentive as there were not many people in the restaurant but I had to fly to download it to get my bill. But for the food itself it was worth it. It is a hole in the wall and The name on the actual restaurant is you know. I would come back. I think the prices are reasonable, and the service was Ok, but the food was definitely the highlight. Also don’t let this deter you, but the restaurant Plaza had a fire and flood couple months ago and they’re still trying to recover the damage. So it looks a little rough aesthetically, but if you’re just looking for a good meal this is the place to go.

First, it’s almost impossible to find this place. Originally wanted to go to Joa and then found out it doesn’t exist, and I’m guessing it reopened as this restaurant? The location is definitely far from inviting, it’s basically a quasi-deserted strip mall next to a construction site all hidden behind a Denny’s. If you’re looking for a Korean restaurant to bring a date or just a nicer location, I’d definitely try Gabose instead. The inside could use a facelift. Also, you can’t do your own grilling here if that’s something you want. Aside from this, the food is delicious and tasty. I tried the seafood and kimchee tofu soups and both were great. They don’t give you unlimited side dishes, which is a first for me in my experiences eating at Korean restaurants. You can ask for refills of side dishes for additional charge. Bottom line: come for the food, not the atmosphere

I love this place! I’m half Korean and from the west coast where authentic Korean restaurants are plentiful, so to find this hidden gem in Hollywood, FL was like a dream come true for me. It’s hard to find as its tucked away in an old shopping center off 441 a little south of Hollywood(near Denny’s). It’s small, family owned, clean, prices are reasonable, portion sizes are good, and the food tastes just like my umma and halmoni’s cooking :) I even sent my mom pics of my food the first time I had went because I was so impressed lol. The dol sot bibimbap is always delicious and I also highly recommend the kimchi jigae!

I am still trying to get over how much a pleasant surprise my lunch was. The location is in a half abandoned strip mall anchored by a large thrift store. I had reservations about south Florida Korean cuisine in an area known for dying suburban commerce. However, my concerns were proven to be unjustified. Nothing dramatic here, and I was shocked cold noodles were not on the menu(the climate screams a need for bi bum myen), but the bulgogi and spicy pork were just like mom used to make. Well, not my mother. My Korean American dining partner, who is not known for her sentimentality, felt like this hit the spot.

I tried this restaurant. Ordered BBQ squid and Bulgogi. Also had the kimchi soup. Tasty and spicy. I especially loved the squid and the sauce. I always love the traditional side dishes, especially the kimchi. The décor is simple but that is what gives it charm. Simple. Service is good. I live in Hallandale and it’s nice to know there is a Korean nearby instead of driving all the way to Lauderhill. The place is hidden in a deserted shopping center but it’s basically behind the Denny’s. This is a restaurant worth trying.

It was a Friday night and for no particular reasons, my wife and I had a craving for Korean food. I haven’t had Korean food for a long time. I used to eat a lot of Korean food when I was living in L.A. But where can I find a good Korean restaurant near by my neighborhood? Unilocal!of course! So I read some of my Unilocal buddies had pay a visit here before, but it was under a different name. I am not sure if they are both under the same owner; however both businesses in Unilocal has the same address. This is really a mom and pop hole in the wall family style type of restaurant. Not much to look at inside or out. Seats maybe about 25 people and offers pretty straight forward Korean dishes. I knew exactly what I wanted so ordering was easy. We ordered 3 simple dishes but it took like forever. I took a peek inside the kitchen and I saw two elder ladies working on the stove. I am guessing they were mom and grandma? Well, if its grandma working hard on our food, maybe I shouldn’t be too critical about it. Our first dish was the seafood pancakes. It was both me and my wife’s favorite dish. It was an egg pancake with shrimps, fish and squids inside and it was very tasty. The next dish was the grilled sliced marinated beef. It was served on a sizzling grilling plate with some sliced onions. The beef cut think with a lot of flavors and it was terrific. My least favorite dish of the evening was the fried egg rice. I was meant to order something else and ordered it by mistake. It had no flavor, nothing special and it cost $ 12.95 which I thought was totally overpriced. Overall we still kind of enjoyed our meal. I had ordered a Korean beer which was fine. 2 out of 3 dishes were great, but I think they are a bit pricy. So I felt like it really was 3.5 stars. But the highlight of the evening had to be the Korean pop music videos they played on their TV. Some of those Korean pop stars were just looking ridiculous in their weird makeups and costumes. Maybe I am getting old??? But now I know what my father felt like when he sees me playing my Guns N’Roses and Def Leppard music back in my high school days.

Hole in the wall kind of place in a sketchy area– very simple, but they have delicious, authentic korean food. They usually have k-pop or a korean drama playing on the tv. I love the sides here & this is the first place I liked the kimchee. Their drinks didn’t impress me much– they just have soda, water, green tea, and sake. But I would recommend this place for their Korean food, especially their bibimbap and bulgogi.
