It’s funny how priorities change. This place manages to make dealing with prescriptions so much less painful than I have been accustomed to in my recent years. I never gave to much thought to drug stores for most of my life except the Thrifty Drug store I grew up near. I loved Thrifty because I could get a double scoop ice cream cone with their award winning ice cream for a dime. That was good stuff, and it always made me associate being happy with being in a drug store. Fast forward to life as I know it now. Prescriptions help keep me employed and able to live a somewhat normal life. I had been dealing with another Walgreens for this reason, and I have to say, I dreaded the experience of dealing with that place. They have a drive thru, which I prefer to going inside that store, but inevitably, I would sit in the hot sun behind several cars waiting for my order. Then I would find out that they didn’t feel the essential items, and I would have to come back the next day for them, and wait all over again. Why did I keep going back? I am glad I asked myself that question, because when I finally did ask, I realized I didn’t have to go back. I switched to this location. I am almost afraid to Unilocal about it; because not only do I not have to wait in long lines behind cars to pick up my prescriptions, I have the convenience of being in the shade. That makes things better right there, even if they did get busy by chance. We like shade in South Florida, especially if we are stuck in a drive thru line. It’s not just the drive thru that is better at this location. It’s the service. They simply have their act together here. I have never had to wait for any meds since I switched to this location, and they are almost always ready before they promise. I can’t count how many times the other location was late, yet still called because they were partially ready with the least essential prescription leading me to believe it was all ready. My new reality means dealing with the Pharmacy. If this is what I have to do, then I am glad I have this Walgreens to help me with that now.
