Over the years I have had two wetsuits made by these miserable people Gene and Connie the Shrew. Every time I had the occasion of walking into their shop I was greeted by a din of screaming and yelling of the Shrew and a disgruntled customer I am not exaggerating. And it sounds like things haven’t changed much in the intervening years. I told Gene(the morose enabler of the Shrew) that I wanted a suit that had a seal flap back zipper like my off the rack Scubapro that fit me pretty well. The Shrew(who doesn’t dive) overhears this and sticks her big beak in and opines that no Scubapro suit would fit my body type. She shrewed on like she would bet her life on it. I went into the dressing room donned my Scubapro suit and walked out. Not a peep out of that sour faced Shrew who quickly turned away and exited stage left. On another occasion while at their shop two old Bahamian women came in to order a wetsuit for their male relative in the Bahamas. They were completely naïve on the subject. The shrew gets her claws into them and starts asking them if they have measurements and his weight. They did not but they had a small wallet sized picture of him. The Shrew pounced and assured them she could construct a custom suit for them by just using the picture. We’re talking $ 200 to $ 300 rip off. When I had the chance I told those nice old women they would be sorry and to go while they still had their gold teeth in their mouths. They heeded my advise. I’ll be honest and admit I was a difficult customer. Gene to his credit spent a good hour with me discussing the different configurations and options available. I dive year round in Florida and get cold pretty easy in the winter. I wanted a nice warm 5 mm suit. Gene kept telling me the new way to go was with a 5 mm body 3 mm appendages for warmth and flexibility. For a price tag of $ 400.00(10 yrs ago) I wanted to make sure I made the right choice. I think it was a Monday that Gene finally started to loose patients with me and I didn’t blame him. He said listen, you call me by Thursday with your final decision and we’ll start cutting the material. I decide on a full one piece 5 mm suit. I call Wednesday and the Shrew answers the phone and I tell her my choice. Well! I should have fastened my seat belt and put in my earplugs. They already cut the neoprene and the battle royal commenced. After an indeterminable period of screeching volleys I had her put Gene on. I threatened to cancel my order for being treated and spoken to like this. As always the catch is that he had a $ 200.00 deposit of mine so we agreed that the Shrew would no longer be involved. Went diving with the suit and had constant cold water running down my back from the neck. Under inspection I noticed that when they added the zipper flap they didn’t extend the bare neoprene seal to the rear of the neck closure. Went back to the shop of horrors and there was Gene unsmiling as usual(like Jabba the Hut holding court.) I explained the problem and he bellows here is your order slip, I purposely left it on top because You are a pain in the ass and I know you would be back with some kind of issue. I kept my mouth shut, he took the suit to the back to be altered. While waiting I read a dive magazine. After about 40 minutes Gene says don’t you want your suit? Its been sitting here for a half an hour. The SOB let me sit 30 minutes for nothing. I went to the counter to get the suit and told him«you know, all I did was do what you told me to do and when to do it.» I then threw a $ 20.00 bill in his face and said don’t let it be known that I owed you anything. Buying new SCUBA gear is supposed to be enjoyable, but not at this place. The very nature of constructing custom wetsuits is at the best of times a hit or miss proposition. People have their own subjective ideas of what is snug and comfortable. As a wetsuit maker you should accept that this is part of the business and you should have the temperament to deal with it. Obviously the Shrew does not even come close. Why does she get 4 star reviews? Those were the hits, so everything was wonderful. When there is a problem then you get the«miss» and all Shrewish hell breaks loose. Unfortunately she’s the only game in a town of divers. Use her if you must but be warned you’ll be rolling the dice and be duly prepared if there is a miss. As for me, I buy my suits off the rack now. For the price they can’t be beat. They come with standard options that would cost a fortune to add on to the Shrewware. And there are a lot more sizes available than there was 10 years ago.

I WILLNEVERUSETHISCOMPANYAGAIN The absolute worst in customer service. I paid over 400 for a customer suit for my daughter to learn how to scuba dive. The suit was ordered in June and suppose to be done in 2 — 3 weeks for the summer diving. after 13 weeks of not receiving the suit, I tried to cancel the order. Through some act of Go, the suit was ready and shipped only moments before I called to cancel. The suit showed up 2 hours before we left for the last dive of the season and to top it all off, the suit didn’t fit my daughter. This woman is horrible, a liar and will blame anyone and everyone else. A complete waste of my time and money.

So this is the only wetsuit repair shop in South Floirda. I was warned before going here, don’t piss her off – because it’s the only place to get your suit fixed locally. So I made sure to behave myself and she did an amazing job. Anyway, I’m a female speara and it’s impossible to find a properly fitting wetsuit specific to spearfishing. She custom fitted my Men’s Nautilus suit to my body, it looks and feels AMAZING. You need to know what you want when you go in there. She mainly deals with scuba suits, so if you’re a freediver you need to be clear and convey how certain areas need to be looser than others etc. But, you’ll get a quality job. You might not get it in super speedy fashion, but it will be worth it.

I ordered a costume for my work for cold water and Ms never full with expectations that I had asked, but since he had paid did not understand my explicavion because a normal wetsuit is good for low temperatures for a long time, so i called the bank and talk to the people of claims credit my card and I explained my situation and they gave me back my money … if you do your problem! because she takes your money and then gives you no longer more solutions than a few stitches in the wet suit Don’t lost your money, she make wet suit that you can find it for less half what it takes.

This company, AKA Aquatic Wetsuits, has the WORST customer service anyone has ever experienced. The owner cannot deliver when she promises, and then makes up excuse after excuse as to why an order either is mixed up with another one or delivered WAY late(or possibly not at all). And she will never let you finish explaining why you are not satisfied — she’s always defensive. always ready to cut you off. always ready to blame everyone but herself. She messed up an order 3 times in a row and blamed 3 different parties other than herself(including blaming another customer who got the first customer’s order by mistake) when she was, in fact, the person whose inattentive, sloppy, arrogant attitude caused the shipping errors in the first place. Some advice: find another custom wetsuit company. These people should NOT be in a customer-centered business. The recommendation to everyone who is either into scuba diving or considering it would be to avoid this horrendous train-wreck of a «service,» and every blog, review board, and forum relating to scuba that can be found as well as everybody within earshot will hear how HORRIBLE and DETESTABLE it is dealing with people like this and being subjected to the torture of being belittled, cut off, recriminated against, and hung up on by a rude«business“woman who does not honor her own promise to deliver goods 3 weeks after a confirmed delivery date, while she has over $ 1,000 of money paid for goods she can neither deliver to the right address nor anywhere near on time. (p.s.: You will usually get much better service from the DMV than with this company. In fact, the local street-corner loan shark is probably more of a pleasure to do business with than this outfit.)
