I visited this little restaurant with a group of 8, which is large for the small venue. We ordered in three separate groups and though we ordered second, we weren’t severed for quite a while. After watching four other groups get served we asked the cashier if our order was coming and she responded yes without even checking. After even another group got served, I proceeded to the counter to reinforce that we have still not been served. The manager made some sad excuses that the printer malfunctioned and said our order would be out in five minutes. He apologized and offered us some free guacamole. This was not a sufficient solution as our whole table had finished eating by the time we got our food. It was delicious, but their service is less than satisfactory and there is better tex mex on the island. I will not be returning.

Good salsa and chips. No horchata. Burritos and everything else lacks flavor and originality. Charge too much for extra salsa. Will not go back. Poppo’s is much better.

Stopped by to order carry-out on our way to the beach. Took a while to get food, 20 minutes or so. Food was good, would have expected great for the price. Would give 5 stars if it wasn’t for the wait and the price for what we got. Probably won’t return.

We went for dinner expecting 4 star experience based on the reviews. It was dreadful, no margaritas only beer, awful atmosphere, food served on paper in a basket, AND clean your own table. The food was mediocre and since the burrito I ordered was on paper I ate a lot of paper and, oh I forgot, plastic silverware. Cost a bit higher then average Mexican restaurants. After all this I could recommend it for lunch if your coming off the beach and you want a cold beer and something to fill you up. The food is adequate.

We stopped in after hearing the queso was«to die for». It was decent, but not the best ever. We had grouper tacos and they were very fishy and not hot enough. One daughter had tortilla soup and it was very small for the price. Other daughter ordered chicken nachos and was charged an extra $ 1 just to add sour cream. We weren’t impressed.

One of our favorites to hit after the beach. My favorite is the pork nachos. Guacamole is good too.

The food is outstanding. I grew up on the island and have moved to NYC in the last few years. Coming back to visit and having Tortilla Bay as an option was a sweet surprise. They definitely should get more recognition, as they are in such a hidden, off-the-beaten-path location. But. I will definitely say that they lose a star for the overpriced items(they are honestly close to NYC prices for probably less product…) Nonetheless, I went back a second time and would go back again. Delicious food, and so fresh – as though I bought the ingredients myself and cooked straight from the store(although I definitely wouldn’t have done as great a job as they did…)!

The chargrilled chicken burrito was outstanding. Affordable beach price and great customer service inside a little strip mall.

This place should be packed for lunch during the prime season. The food is really good and it’s got a nice atmosphere but after you pay Chipotle or higher prices for your food and only get half the amount you would get at other burrito joints, you see why. Recently tried a steak quesadilla. Over $ 10 with taxes. Only half a quesadilla(one 8″ tortilla folded in half). Again, the quality was good but not worth the price for the quantity. Won’t be going back or recommending this place anytime soon.

Stopped in for a late lunch and the food was excellent. The salsa was fresh and delicious and the quesadilla hot and flavorful. I’d definitely be back.

We were looking for some place quick to grab dinner before sunset and Tortilla Bay fit the bill perfectly. The food was delicious and fresh. Highly recommend the queso, quesadillas and steak tacos. Will definitely come back again.

the food here is great, the prices are inexpensive and the beer is cold. i definitely recommend Tortilla Bay for a quick lunch. the concept is similar to Chipotle, but the food is better. The spicy steak and queso are must-tries.

I got the burrito with chargrilled chicken and extra queso added. The burrito was good. It was sort of a fresher tasting take on Moe’s. The salsa was excellent. It’s a safe bet for a quick lunch.

We loved the fish tacos here. So much that we ended up getting them three times during our stay. Guacamole was also really good. Employees aren’t the friendliest and they could work on smiling a little more and making eye contact but the food was worth coming back for. We only ordered fish tacos so I can’t comment on other menu items. Very relaxed atmosphere and short wait times. Will be back next year for sure!

Decent place, but pretty prices for what you get. I got the chicken tacos, they come standard with lettuce, pico, and cheese. Other toppings offered and can be added on for an additional 95 cents each which is pretty expensive if you like a lot of things on your tacos/burritos. Also, incase you’re a tomato hater like myself, the guacamole is mostly tomato chunks. Yuck! Unless you add hot sauce the meal, or at least if you get the chicken, is very bland. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you like tacos, but don’t like spicy Mexican flavors.

Great place for a quick lunch! The base prices for meals are reasonably priced and everything tasted great. There are some tasty«add on» items that are pricey for what they are. For example, sour cream doesn’t come standard and is .95 extra. My burrito did come with a side of chips which was a plus. If I come back to Anna Maria island, ill be stopping in here for my burrito cravings.

It was very good. The guac wasn’t creamy(not good) it was chunky, with cilantro, tomatoes, and onions. You could tell it was fresh and home made in store. This is a bare bones kind of place. Basic seating with self service. Prices are good for AMI. Plus there are some very nice shops in the plaza they are located in. So if you wanted to hit the plaza and have lunch, this is a nice place not to break the bank, but still get quality food. We would go back.
