Ace Hardware Will Cook

I have shopped this store many times. The people who work there are extremely helpful. Matt is one who helped my husband and I when we had a sump pump issues with setting up the pipes. He was great.
The people who posted that they were being «watched» must be paranoid. Never felt that way in the store. Sometimes you just want to browse and they DO want to help you, so I just tell them please let me just be.
They remember who you are and are a small local business.
I support local and other people should to.

Be careful when buying paint from this location. I picked up 2 gallons of paint on my way home from work for my husband and they sold me the most expensive one they had. I had no idea until I came home that they had taken advantage of me. I have had good luck with other ace stores, but would not recommend this location.

If you need something for your home/​yard project, this is the place. The staff is very knowledgeable and eager to help — and you will find the right tool for the job.

After my recent grill burned out and was tossed to the curb, I decided to visit this great location through advice from a neighbor. I almost felt like I was entering a Weber Showroom when I came into this store. The store really knew the product line and was very helpful when it came to picking my next new grill. I decided on Genesis EP 330, Black. where the store agreed to assemble the grill and provide delivery for a reasonable fee. After two months of use, I can only say that I have cook many great meals at home, and was very satisfied with the customer service from Will-​Cook Ace. on a recent visit, they had even remembered my grill purchase and asked if I enjoyed using the grill. BUY A WEBER, they cook far superior to any other grill I’ve owned. My wife thinks I am a grill expert that has gone to grilling school, but little does she know that half of the battle comes from the great grill performance. Go to Will Cook Ace for all your hardware purchases, they truly care about their customers.
Another great experience here at Will Cook Ace, helped me with all my recent plumbing needs. They saved the day, that is for sure, along with making the wife «get off my back».

This is by far the best run Hardware store that I have been to. their service and quality is second to none. You know how it is when you have a home project and you go to a store looking fior help. Will Cook always seems to have plenty of staff that is very willing to help and give fix it advice. this is absolutly the place to go. Thanks and please keep up the super service.

Like most of the other reviewers… I WILL NOT shop at this ACE ever again. I recently bought a large fixer-​upper house in Homer Glen. During the first few months of owning it, I have spent thousands on home repairs and improvements. Some spent at the big boxes like Home Depot and some at this local Ace Hardware. I believe in supporting small businesses like a smaller store like this. BUT…
I have REPEATEDLY had bad experiences at this place. It’s owners have obviously instituted a wierd rule about treating their customers like shoplifters. I am a 35 year old man who frequented this store weekly for everything from plumbing supplies to hardware supplies. I always felt awkward shopping there but constinued to go there thinking I was helping a local small business.
I recently purchased a $ 6.50 plastic pipe at this location. It was vacuum sealed in plastic and I never opened the packaging. I quickly realized it wasnt the right size for my new bathroom project and returned to this Ace for a refund. I didnt have a reciept so I graciously anticipated a simple in-​store credit for the $ 6 bucks. I was harrassed beyond belief about the location of where the product was purchased and whther I had used an Ace card. They even asked if I stole the item!
I repeatedly said «Just give me the in-​store credit for the $ 6 bucks.» Eventually the manager had to come over to assist. He also accused me of stealing the item. I said «give me the $ 6 store credit or lose me as a cusotmer forever». They lost me. I hope they enjoy the $ 6 bucks. I will never spend a penny there again.

As much as I dislike Home Depot, or any big box store, I dislike
this particular Ace Hardware more. Higher prices have put me off
but one thing bothers me more, and this has come up from others
during conversation, I don’t like being watched as a potential shoplifter. If I need to speak to someone, more often than not they’re tied up with customers. When I can or want to find something on my own, I find I have employees at the opposite end of the aisle peering at me, sometimes around a corner. I do go in and make the occasional purchase but do my best to do my hardware shopping elsewhere.

When my companion is working on his motorcycle he is bound to stop in here for some kind of part or tool. The staff has definitely grown to recognize us and his project. The people who work here are friendly and very personable. I usually wander the aisles and always find something to entertain myself with like smelling candles or checking out paint samples. The store is smaller then home depot or menards which means it’s easier to find things and I don’t get lost as easily. I think that a lot of girls could think of a dozen of other things they would rather do then follow their companion into a hardware store but if it’s this Ace I really don’t mind much at all.
