While traveling to do some shopping(Orland Park to Boiling Brook) we stopped by this pizzeria. We didn’t know what to expect from the outside but were pleasantly surprised by the warm and spacious interior. The wait staff was attentive and wait times for food were reasonable. We ordered fried calamari for an appetizer and a large thick crust mushroom and cheese pizza. The calamari could have been cooked a short time more in the fryer but the pizza was excellent. We are by no means pizza experts but we enjoyed the Italian spices and cheese. They did appear to have canned mushrooms but they were not overly salty and tuff. The large pizza was enough for the two of us to have some as left overs. Much like all Chicago Pizzerias the pizza was cut in squares. The pizza was on a rack that suspended it above the actual pan. Not sure for the reason of this but it was the first time we have seen anything like it. This pizzeria was excellent and we will definitely be back! The only complaint we have was the extra leftover pizza was taken home in a styrofoam container rather than a box. This allowed the cheese to stick together and fall off when pulling it apart for left overs.

Very friendly and talkative staff. Stopped in for the first time after living in the area for 10 years! Got some pie for me and another for after my daughters softball game. OK, so I just tasted the pie, and I ask myself, what have I been missing? Deliciousness!

Had to see if it was the same as their original on Archer in Chicago. Our server was very friendly and made great cocktails. Had my heart set on having a calzone but they no longer offer them. Started with the Blazing Bottle Caps and they were very good. Since we couldn’t order a calzone, we got a sausage pizza, it was fine, nothing special. I’ll give it another shot and try the baked version of the calzone.

Wife & I stopped into Chesdan’s for lunch on a Friday afternoon while out in Homer Glen. The food & service were just like we remembered it from the Archer Ave location, awesome! It was just like the old days. Our waitress was excellent, very friendly, very attentive, did a great job. Great food, nice atmosphere, excellent service. We will be back for another visit very soon with our granddaughters that love pizza. Hats off to Dan & his crew for making us feel welcome and at home. Chesdan’s is another family run business that’s been providing quality food at a fair price for decades. These neighborhood businesses should receive our utmost support financially. With the little guy, you’ll almost always receive superior quality & personalized service all while keeping the money in our neighborhood. I choose to spend my money supporting the small business owners-rather than the huge corporate conglomerates that rarely walk up to your table, shake your hand, thanking you for your business. If we don’t support our local small businesses, we’ll have a situation-similar to what Wal Mart is doing/has done to the neighborhood grocer, hardware store, department store, etc. Bravo Chesdan’s…

This place is great for hosting large parties! We had our reception dinner here and they were not only very accommodating but very friendly. They were on their game and didn’t miss a beat! Thank you all for a fantastic job!

Worst pizza I’ve ever had, spent 28.00 for a large thin crust pepperoni(canned mushrooms) yikes green pepper black olive Crust was like soggy cardboard, ingredients looked like my dog made the pizza by lobbing the ingredients in the middle Dominos and Pizza Hut would be a step up from this sorry excuse of a pizza

Seeing as how I was conceived in Chesdans parking lot 57 years ago on Archer Avenue I have had a fondness for their pie that goes beyond their amazing unique pizza. The pizza hasn’t changed in all the years we have been eating it. The new location isn’t a replica of the original but it is similar and homey. The sauce is sweet, the sausage perfectly seasoned with fennel. The thin crust is crunchy and so yummy. A side note; my dad told me on that day 6 weeks after I was conceived, my mom got queasy eating their weekly Chesdans pizza and my dad knew she was in the family way. He said when he told her she sobbed. Ha!

Great atmosphere and good service the sauce is a lil tomato tasting but it’s great for a change!

Short wait, hostess went above and beyond to move us from a table to a newly available booth! Thanks! Good wine, a cab. Good beer, a Blue Moon. Good bruschetta, messy but quite tasty and refreshing. Pizza with sweet tomato sauce… my Southwest Side roots savor the flavor. All told, good food, reasonable prices, good service, and lots o’ free parking.

I have gone there a handful of times, and I’ve always left with the same thought… why didn’t I buy some pasta sauce and noodles from aldi, stay in, cook em up myself, and throw 18 bucks out my kitchen window.

Tried this place out a couple months ago and had a pleasant experience. I started off with a glass of Sangria– which was huge and delicious! Both my husband and I ordered pasta. I like that they offer half sized portions as neither of us eat a lot. We both enjoyed our dishes and I even had leftovers with a half sized dish! They give free bread with oil and we also ordered an appetizer. Everything was great and the atmosphere is good. Saw a few tables eating pizza that looked delicious. Next time we will be trying that!

I love Chesdans! It’s like our neighborhood Italian restaurant! Family friendly. Good food. And excellent service. The servers learn your name and welcome you when you done. The pizza is yummy and served with a wonderful salad. It’s comfortable, and local with good food! What more could you ask for!!!

We recently went here after a long while and we were really surprised. The entrees were all very good and the service was great. We thought about going to Maggianos, but they had a long wait and who wants to eat at 8:45. So we went the Chesdans, great choice. Eggplant, sampler appetizer, chicken n pasta and tiramisu were all fantastic. Plus the bill was reasonable. They even accepted a coupon from the Lemont football team. Overall, nice place, food and environment.

Average. Patty melt sucked. It had minimum onions on it and it looked like they counted out my fries. My wife liked her burger a lot. I wish I would have gone across the lot to Nicks instead. Pizza is good — so why didn’t I get pizza? I’m an idiot.

Me and my family were regulars at the original location on Archer Ave in Brighton Park in Chicago during the 70’s and 80’s. Let’s fast forward to 2014. I always knew about this location but never tried it thinking it was going to be inferior to the original but no. The décor replicates the original and the pizza has not changed a bit. It has a very unique flavor and it really appeals to me. You should try some! What really infuriated me was after we were seated *crickets* No one came over to acknowledge us or anything. Trying to make eye contact and be subtle about it just was not working which usually does. After about 10 minutes on the timer on my phone for 5 minutes before we walked out the door. A server came by before my alarm went off and I am glad they did because I would have been sad if I would have had to leave. BTW — Before your pizza, Get some tasted ravioli. They are probably some of the best around!

Finally made it to their new location and the pizza is as good as ever. Sandi was an excellent waitress who gladly asked Dan, the owner, to meet me. Great chance to reminisce about the 100 or more times my family and I ate at the original Chesdan’s on Archer. Wish I lived closer than Gurnee, but plan to make the trek whenever possible. Although I had never met Dan before, he made me feel like I was an old friend. Glad he’s keeping the Chesdan tradition going.

It’s right around the corner so, when I moved here, it was the first place I visited. It created such a bad impression 5 years ago, I never went back despite its proximity. So, based on good reviews, I tried it again and all I can say is they’re consistent… and that’s not good. Our booth seats were filthy. All the knick-knacks-Asian jade fish, Italian stuff, etc… crazy stuff… was dust and dirty. But nothing was worse than the decrepit floor! Given all the above, I ordered safe: spaghetti with an added $ 3.50 meatball. I expected a decent sized meatball but got a single quarter-sized ball… for $ 3.50!!! It will probably be another five years before I forget how cheesy this place is. Maybe I should try the pizza.
