By far the BEST place in town! Quaint, cozy, delicious! Chef Jodrick, is definitely a master-mind when putting these delicious plates together. A must try is HIS take on a Pulled«Cuban» with twist pork sandwich. But needless to say, been there a few times and has always been amazing!

I was very impressed by this restaurant. We had some trouble finding it initially, but that’s because we were looking to the left instead of the right. However, it is a small restaurant. There are only 8 tables so I am sure it can get packed easily. Luckily, there was a table ready for us on a Thursday evening. Our waiter was Will. He was fantastic. He was doing a million things at once as he was the only waiter for the restaurant. He did a wonderful job explaining the menu and had a magnificent character. Even though he was the only waiter, I always felt like I had everything I needed. The food was also amazing. It changes seasonally, which I think is great because that means the options are more sustainable as well as there being more thought put into each meal. I got the captain and shrimp dinner. It came with shrimp, potatoes, and Brussel sprouts in a coconut rum sauce. Amazing. If you are in Homestead, definitely check this place out.

Sweet baby Jesus!!! This has been one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. The ambiance, the food, and the owners… holy cow! I don’t go to homestead often but I guarantee you that I’ll be back again all the way from Davie, FL! We ordered the appetizer platter to start and were blown away from the get. For dinner, we got traditional mofongo with shrimp and cleaned the plate. The costilla de res which is a large beef shank on top of mashed potatoes and Mac&cheese was to die for. It literally fell off the bone. For dessert we got the Cuban breakfast crème brule which had guava and coffee in it to end our meal with a bang. What a phenomenal experience! I wish the owners the best of luck and please, open in Davie!!!

Was in Homestead for a show and wanted to try something other than the endless Mexican joints in the area. This establishment did not disappoint. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in the door. Our sever Will was top notch. He explained the foundation on which the restaurant operates on fresh, seasonal, local foods each prepared to order. Will gave a descriptive break down of the ingredients some of more popular entrees. I went with the braised short rib and my wife went with the Ahi tuna. The short rib was simply amazing. It came with a side of smoked Gouda mashed potato and another side of smoked Gouda mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was awesome. It had some dried chipotle peppers mixed in which gave it a nice after kick. The Ahi tuna was seared rare and came with an Asian reduction sauce that was simply delicious. The fish was extremely fresh. We finished the meal with an espresso crème brûlée that was right on par with the rest of the meal. Service was fantastic. This place is very small and reservations are recommended. Prices are reasonable for the the kind of quality food you get here. Too bad I don’t live closer!

Don’t be fooled by its appearance, this little hole in the wall spot packs some serious flavor. Dropped by for lunch today since I was in the area, and would absolutely revisit to try some other options on their menu. There’s nothing like that home cooking style food., and that’s exactly what you will find here.

I must say, this hole in the wall is a diamond in the rough. The food is nothing like you’ll find anywhere else. The chef is amazingly talented and creative. I try to go as often as I can. The eclectic mix of Puerto Rican and Asian fusion is outstanding. So far my absolute fav place to go for any occasion. But remember, prepare yourself for the appearance, it is small but intimate.

Excellent service in this small establishment. Very friendly staff, and they explained everything on the menu in detail. Decided to be adventurous & ordered an authentic Puerto Rican meal. Had the Mofongo with shrimp & ox tail broth. Very flavorful & the broth was very garlicky. Give it a try — you won’t be disappointed.

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times. I loved it the first time and did not like at as much the last time I was there. The mofongo was SUPERDRY and tasteless. Chef needs to take is easy with the sauce and pepper. It overwhelms the food and it is definitely not good eats. We were a party of 5 and the restaurant was full but were not made to feel welcomed. The waitress kept telling us that it would be a long time so I had to ask her if she wanted us to leave. Perhaps I should have followed her lead, a royal disappointment. The folks in our party said their food was OK but are still wondering what everyone is raving about. Since the kitchen was busy with so many take out orders, perhaps it was an off day. We will not be back.

Best restaurant in Homestead hands down! Chef Jodrick fuses so many different flavors and cultures in his cuisines, making your dining experience the best. So many bold flavors! You won’t regret trying his flavorful masterpieces. I’ve gotten some of his vegetarian items and loved them; his meats and chicken are ALWAYS on point, as well. Overall, you’ll be so pleased with your experience at Chefs on the Run that you’ll want to come again and again. Thanks for all you do, Chef J.

So I’m writing this as I sit here. First impressions: small, hole in the wall. We passed it and had to go back around. It’s on a corner and can be easy to miss BUT we were immediately greeted with a smile and seated right away. Apparently you usually need a reservation as people wait up to 2 hours. The place is tiny with only 8 tables! Very cozy ambience. After looking over the menu, we went with the tuna and the new Americana mofongo. Our servers, William and Naomi, are soooo sweet! Very friendly. I was going to go with the porkchops until William highly recommended the tuna(«best tuna in town. Never frozen, brought in fresh daily») He even offered to pay for it himself if I don’t like it. I went for the porkchops because they come with brussel sprouts. He quickly swapped the asparagus that comes with the tuna for the brussel sprouts(«best in town»… I’ll hold him to it) without question. Let’s see! … And OMG!!! Nothing short of deliciousness. The tuna was so fresh and perfectly cooked. The«bbq» sauce is amazing, but has a little kick. I am a bit biased as I’m sensitive to spice. My boyfriend practically licked the rest of the sauce from my plate. Brussel sprouts were seriously the best I’ve had(topping my previous fave from Sugarcane). William wasn’t lying. My boyfriend got the mofongo which is served with an oxtail broth, the perfect touch. It comes paired with an arroz con gandules, which I usually don’t like but was cooked so well. Not only is the food here simply amazing, but the service really puts it over the top. The chef even came to check in and make sure all was well. I love the family environment and will have to come back for the short ribs(they were out. Well played)

I would say a lot of the plates classify as Mediterranean rather than Caribbean, but nothing wrong with that. They really have a range of different plates, Asian, Mediterranean, American, etc. We ordered the Bahn Mi sandwich and the Chef la Salad. The bahn mi sandwich isn’t what you would get from a Vietnamese restaurant. The meat is marinated such that its a bit sweeter than a typical bahn mi. There are also no jalapeños in the sandwich, so not spicy at all. Its still a good sandwich overall, just different from what we are used to. The chef La salad was good. The ingredients were fresh and the meat was tender. I also really enjoyed the sesame dressing. Definitely recommend this salad. Also, excellent service. Our server was great. She checked on us frequently and made sure we were enjoying everything.

Best dining experience I have ever had. This family owned and run business is the definition of ‘hole in the wall’ in all the best ways. While talking to the owners it’s easy to see how much they care about the food coming out of the kitchen. That’s the kind of place I want to take my business and empty stomach. We had the hibiscus tea lemonade. Opted for the plantain bun on the burgers. There is a reason this place has won best bite at the food networks SOBE wff. Highly Recommend.

I’ve passed this unassuming hole in the wall restaurant for years on my way to a local Mexican restaurant and I am kicking myself for not trying this restaurant sooner! Disclaimer: this restaurant itself seats a max of 24 people, however if you can plan accordingly, it’ll be worth your while. The service was excellent and attentive. Walking in, they had The Black Keys playing and any place that plays The Black Keys is a-ok by me! They have several craft bottled beers: Funky Buddha Floridian and Hop Gun, and New Belgium Fat Tire. We chose the Floridian, it was very reasonably priced: $ 4 – 5 for a bottle. We ordered the Alcupurrias which were fresh and AMAZING. For our main course, we chose the double-fried Churrasco Mofongo. As explained to us, they fry the mofongo once, remove it and season it with lime and cilantro, and flash fry it again. H-E-A-V-E-N! It came to the table piled a mile high. They serve it with a broth rather than the criollo sauce. All of the food was extremely fresh and well prepared. I’ve been searching for mofongo that rivaled ones I’ve had in Puerto Rico, and I’ve finally found it! I cannot wait to go back. Run as fast as you can to Chefs on the Run!

As always I walk into Chefs on the Run with an open mind and an appetite for something delicious. I brought my brother from Boston and girlfriend for lunch to this little gem in practically an alley. And greeted with smiles and good cheer. We were immediately seated and given a quick run down on the menu since my brother had never been to Chefs on the Run. He got to drink a Hibiscus Tea with lemonade(Arnold Palmer of sorts) as we ordered some of the best Churrasco Skewers I’ve ever had. Someone from our party wanted well done steak(Iprefer medium myself) and was I surprised at how juicy the steak was. Needless to say it was hands down the best restaurant on his whole list of Unilocal places to try. Do not, I repeat do not skip on this place whenever you’re in deep South Florida

This is a VERY hole-in-the-wall place, and just like you’ll find at other hole-in-the-wall places, food was authentic! It’s crazy because the joint itself does not look like it would offer much, but it sure packs a punch. It is a very small place with maybe 10 tables cramped inside. Very simple, so don’t expect fine dining décor.(Although the food can be like fine dining!) We ordered the slow braised short rib to share because we were still full from our Robert Is Here milkshakes from earlier. The ribs come served on mashed potatoes and a side of chipotle mac & cheese w truffle oil. Because we were sharing, we were offered 2 ribs for an additional $ 3. Nice gesture on the chef’s behalf. The ribs were SO tender that they easily fell right off the bone and so cleanly too! The mashed potatoes were my fave, though. It has a smokey taste to it that we couldn’t quite figure out from what. My guess was possibly a smoked cheddar cheese that they mix in? Not sure, but it was delicious. I had asked if the chipotle mac & cheese was very spicy, and the answer given was that it only had a little kick. Well, apparently my spicy taste buds are super weak & that«little kick» was too much for me. I think the chipotle taste also out-flavored the truffle, so I didn’t taste any truffle. Our server was amazingly friendly. He was polite, funny, helpful, and continuously checked up on us. I really appreciated his service. Our food came out much quicker than I thought it would take too. Everyone who walked by our table made sure to greet us, and even the chef thanked us for coming in. Granted, we came at a time that wasn’t busy at all. If you’re not fond of tight spaces, I suggest ordering take-out so you don’t miss out on great taste!

Hands down the freshest meal that I had in Homestead! Living in Vegas for the past 5 years has turned me into a huge snob when i comes to burgers so when a place us dubbed the best burger in town; it’s only natural that I put in my 2-cents on they hype. We came in for dinner and man the place was packed! I know that’s not saying too much as there are only 6 – 7 tables here. Unbeknownst to us on the popularity if this place, in hindsight we should’ve made reservations(P.S. Call as they are not on open table) in all we waited about 20 minutes to be seated. I was bummed that the sandwiches were not on the dinner menu as this is what I bookmarked this place for. The server apologized on the wait time as the kitchen was short staffed and that they were running out of entrees for the evening. Luckily the entrée of choice: the Argentinian Churrasco was still available. The Churassco was a generous skirt steak garnished with 3 perfectly cooked asparagus spears. Perfect Dish! Remember it’s churassco sauce not chimichurri!. Whatver you want to call it, it was very flavorful and did not over garlic or spice the meat like I’ve had at other places. The next day we called in our lunch order to see what all the hype was behind the burgers. I tried the pastrami burger. It had a huge juicy patty with a nice seasoning topped with fresh veggies and a nice layer of pastrami. The burger was on the same page as any of the burger boutiques in Las Vegas. If you are a burger snob or a true foodie, I’d recommend this as a must eat when you are passing through the area. Pat Approved and picky eater tested(Chris)…
