Best Food Ever! Wings were killer, jerk chicken was awesome, and pineapple sorbet for dessert. Owner is super nice, I’ll definitely be back sooner than later.

Place was awesome! Small little quite spot with exceptional customer service. Friendly atmosphere, very welcoming. Had jerk chicken and it was the best I have ever eaten. Champagne soda complimented the meal. I would highly recommend this spot and I will return next time I am in the area.

I’ve had about everything on the menu. Everything is good, but the exceptional plates are: Jerk chicken, Ox tail, and Griot. Each was cooked perfectly, juicy, and full of flavor.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was fresh to order with a friendly atmosphere. The owner gave us excellent service. The Fried pork, sweet and sour Chicken, and the Jerk chicken were wonderful! Oh and by the way, order the Conch Fitters!

What an incredible restaurant! Delicious food and excellent customer service. The owners are kind and personable people. I am thrilled I had the opportunity to dine at this fine establishment. My boyfriend ordered the curried goat and I had the curried tofu! We also ordered festival and plantains… Everything was outstanding! A+

Great experience! The«parking lot» and surrounding area appear a little sketchy, but don’t let that deter you from giving this great hole-in-the-wall a try. We got the legume beef, jerked chicken, steamed fish and fried pork. Coconut sorbet was refreshing! All dishes were wonderful and the owner JP was very friendly and helpful! He even gave us recommendations on places to go while we’re in Florida. It was our first time trying Jamaican & Haitian food and it won’t be the last!

This is the real deal. You talk to the owners. You learn about the best options. My husband and I had just gotten back from our honeymoon in Jamaica and we were craving some jerk chicken and oxtail. WEWILLBEBACK! Don’t miss out on this. Amazing, authentic, and the owners are as thoughtful and sincere as they get.

I wanted to try something new with a friend and this place hit the spot. Food was delicious and the service excellent. The owner JP is super nice and humble and we felt right at home. I ordered the jerk chicken with white rice and chicken soup on the side. It was just what I needed. The chicken soup was my fav. I ordered to go for my husband jerk chicken, stewed rice and sweet plantain and he loved it as well. I’ll definitely will go back to this hidden spot. Ya’ man!

If Diners, drive-ins, and dives actually went to dives it would go here. I parked in what I’m not sure was a lot, or was a torn down building. Inside was a little girl having fun(owners daughter) and a few friendly workers. We had a collection of such awesome food. .from Conch fritters to Jerk Pork. All of it was amazing. I even got their juice(which tasted more like a shake than a juice) and it too was amazing. This place was one of our favorite eateries in south flordia. We hit it between the keys and everglades forest. If you want to try something special — stop by here.

Amazing food, and JP is very friendly. We got the griot fried pork, curried goat with rice, and jerk chicken with polenta. Wish we got the steamed snapper as well! It’s impressive that JP and one other lady run the shop and cook everything, and the unassuming storefront belies the great food they serve. I didn’t anticipate finding much good food while driving through Homestead on my way back from the Everglades, but Yardie Spice makes me crave Caribbean food even back home. Highly recommend – I’d come back to South Florida just for JP and his food!

Took the kids here while on vacation. Family owned and operated, and the hospitality comes through! Jerk chicken, curried goat, conch fritters and chicken soup were all easily the best Jamaican we’ve had!

I went here for late lunch on a weekday. The only food in the area seems to be centered around fast food so I’m glad I found this place on Unilocal. The restaurant had a couple of patrons so there was no wait — it is a very casual place(the menu is on the wall). I would give the food 4 stars but I had to deduct a star for the experience. First, there were kids running around and crying/screaming when I was there(wanted a relaxing lunch after spending the day at the Everglades but I can’t say that was the case). Second, the staff person(owner?) made me feel very awkward. I pointed to a spot and asked if I could sit there and he said no. I was so confused for a second but I guess he was joking. Then he stared at me(he was standing right next to me) the entire time I was checking out the menu on the wall and kept asking me questions. He kept asking if I wanted to order more food(and app or dessert or wings — I didn’t). It was just a very weird and uncomfortable exchange. I wish he would have given me some space. I got the curry chicken platter and it was very good. The rice and plantains that it came with were also very good. I would recommend for people in the area and I’m glad that I got to try some authentic Jamaican food while I was in FL! It was such a nice change from all of the fast food places that are everywhere.

I actually found this place after I went skydiving! We were starving and the only appetizing place open at 11am that was selling lunch was here! So, I have a sweet spot for Caribbean food and this place definitely hit the spot! I got the«ya man jerk chicken» and it was amazing. The chicken nearly fell right off the bone and was flavored deliciously. The owner let us try the goat soup and that was delicious! One thing that did bum us out was that they weren’t selling empanadas! I think it’s something they don’t sell on the weekends but I’m not sure. If you’re craving some Jamaican food and are in the area, check this place out! It’s a great family owned place with mouth watering food that is affordable!

Exactly the kind of place I’m hoping to find on Unilocal.Everything about this place is authentic. I had the fried pork with plantains, a salad, and a side of the black beans and rice. So good. The atmosphere isn’t much, but has a lot of character. What really sets this place apart though is the Haitian owner JP. His service was top notch, and his conversation was even better. For the price, you can’t beat it. This place is a gem!

Stopped TWICE for dinner during the 3 days we were in the area. It was so good we had to go back. The first time, I had the whole snapper… very fresh and the best I ever had. We also tried the conch dritters which were great and this beef dish that the owner said his mom makes him when he is home… delish. This place is on a dark block at night(where are the street lights?) and looks humble But. Trust me and the other reviewers. A hidden gem.

Went to lunch here for my break during work. I am not from Florida so I am not use to the other ethnic food culture, however I love to explore different foods. There is nice small parking lot next to it which helps me a lot since I suck at parallel parking. This place is a small mom and pop shop owned by a Haitian and Jamaican couple. The owner, JP, greeted me and he could tell it was my first time eating there and helped me out. He advised me to try the Griot fried pork which came from Haiti. JP was so inviting and kind, he told me all of his food has never been frozen and is made to serve. You can tell the love he puts to his food and his enjoyment of sharing culture. He even gave me some samples of corn meal and fish soup which were both delicious. My Griot pork came with fried plantains topped with a spicy cole slaw and a side salad with ranch dressing. The Griot was crispy and tender at the same time. And I only so far tried the Cuban sweet plantains and I was pleasantly surprised on the subtle test of the smashed fried plantains with the refreshing cole slaw on top. Even the side salad was different since it had water crest leaves in it. Also, you cannot beat the prices here. My dish was only $ 8.99. I will definitely come again for my lunch break and try/learn more dishes.
