Came here to paint potter with my boyfriend, thought it would be a cute idea for out new apartment. The staff was more concerned with their lunch than with us, even after we said it was out first time there. It seemed more like social hour to them which was a little off putting. They very briefly explained how it worked and let us to out own devices. We were told that painting colors on top of one another would still show up but that wasn’t the case. I even put 4 coasts like they said and still couldn’t see it. They gave us no color restrictions and didn’t help us get paint how ever they did remind us every 15 min to not take more paint than we were going to use. Because of the bad service, the constant penny pinching comments, and how u satisfied we were with our pieces the get two starts. It would have been one but the shop downstairs is cute.

I attended Art 4 Soul for the first time this past Saturday, April 9. I brought in food and drinks(which I LOVE that they allow you to do) and me and my girls had a BLAST. It was so much fun picking out the ceramics we wanted to paint and then actually painting them. Of the four of us that went, only 1 had been before and the rest of us were«ceramic painting virgins.» But it didn’t matter that our painting didn’t come out perfect… we had fun doing it. The staff was very nice and even gave us pointers and ideas for our ceramics. Me and my friends plan on making another visit back REALLY soon. I cannot wait to go pick up my ceramics and see the finished products.(You don’t get to take the ceramics home right away… it takes about a week.) Art 4 Soul was a lot of fun and is good for people of all ages… children and adults.

Art 4 Soul is a nice little artsie boutique in downtown Homewood. I have been shopping there for several birthday/Christmas presents for the ladies in my life. What makes Art 4 Soul standout, though, is the crafts you can do right on site! They have an upstairs room with unfinished ceramics and various platforms you can use to make mosaics. My wife has been several times to make personalized presents for special occasions – think weddings, special anniversaries, etc. She has also made some cool things for us, like a mosaic trivet that sits by the kitchen window. When the sun catches the glass tiles, it lights up the room. One of the things I really like about Art 4 Soul is that they are very accommodating for children. A few years ago, we had a Christmas party for some of the kids’ classmates. Everyone painted a piece and Art 4 Soul fired it for the kids. The childrens’ work came out great, and everyone had a good time. Art 4 Soul is definitely on my shopping list this Christmas.

This place is awesome, cool little art gallery on the main floor, bead shop in the basement, and paint your own ceramics on the top floor. The only negative is that unlike other paint your own pottery studios, there is no materials fee, instead the pieces are a bit more expensive. Other than that its awesome, they’ll even ship it to you if you’re out of town, lots of fun!

Nice place for unusual, semi pricey gifts for the home, jewelry, seasonal items, etc. Not a very big place though. The main attraction here seems to be the kids parties in the basement. You can select your pottery, paint it and come pick it up a week or so later after they’ve toasted it or whatever they do. Not really all that cheap to do, but the kids really enjoy creating their little masterpieces… and hey, who doesn’t need another ceramic frog or bowl for the curios cabinet?! I think they have bead parties too, but I haven’t quite caught that fever yet. Beats Chuckee Cheese by more than a few rat hairs!
