The food is the same as the other Jim n nicks. If the drive through looks busy don’t even try to order. I got stuck in the line for 40 mins one night. One thing that bugs me is I have ordered beers 4 times there and each time they bring it either when they bring my food or after. They are losing out on money doing that, doesn’t make much sense.

The food is heaven on earth! I was craving BBQ last night so my husband and I called in take out from this place. We went in to pick it up and I waited in the car so I can’t speak for the inside of the restaurant but the food was amazing! The aromas coming from the bag were good to enough to make me want to open it all up in the car! I had the pulled pork with mashed potatoes, baked beans, and macaroni. It did not disappoint. I will say that their BBQ sauce was a little sweet since I usually prefer a more savory taste. Either way, I will be back again!

Stopped here for lunch today for chicken tenders. The tenders was not cooked all the way and they did not give me good tender pieces either. I won’t be coming back to the Homewood location anytime soon

I stopped here expecting to grab a quick bite to eat before I went to a business meeting. I ordered half a chicken with fries and beans. I was intentionally late to my meeting because I could not stop eating the food it is so good. Especially the jalapeño habanero something barbecue sauce.

The atmosphere was fantastic. The service was fantastic. The baby back ribs i ordered were tough. I expected more from the #1BBQ from Alabama a few years back.

A little pricy for what it is, but the pulled pork, the mash potatoes and potato salad was amazing!

Pulled pork sandwich was $ 7 Half a dozen biscuits was $ 2.50 The sandwich was okay at best. Not enough meat, sauce, and flavor really for the price. The biscuits however were to die for. Really sweet, buttery, a slight crunch on top and really moist throughout. Definitely a must get when you’re going here. Went through the drive through so can’t comment on the service but 3⁄5 because even though the biscuits were divine I came here for BBQ, not bread.

I had the 2 meat plate. The portions were good on the meat. I got the brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was meh ok but the pulled pork was on point and so juicy and delicious. The potatoe salad was amazing too. Mac n Cheese was very stringy and cheesy and delicious. The cheese biscuits good god those were amazing. Not to good when cooled down but when they are warm they are sweet and cheesy. I recommend this place but if you don’t get the lunch special be prepared to drop 20 $ a meal.

I like Jim ‘N Nicks, but I hate their drive through experience!!! If you order a drink they will forget to give it to you and they have no sense of urgency. Thx to the window girl«Kamaria» for screwing my order up on today!!!

This was a solid place to eat. The décor and cleanliness was good, the service was good, and the price was good. But overall I say meh. The ribs and pulled pork were good, the potato salad not so much. The deviled eggs were good, but they were only good. I expected more. The overall vibe was chain.

In earlier days this place was«meh» at best. Then they made improvements: 1. Cheese biscuits — Good enough to justify the trip. 2. They learned to pull the pork. 3. They offer a variety of sauces including white, vinegar and mustard. Good to see a local eatery get better rather than fall into decline after the grand opening. All locations seem to have similar quality and service, as well.

Food was great! However, it was was to tight and crowded… plus it was 110 degrees inside.

Took out a rack of pork ribs from Jim and Nicks and was not impressed at all. The meat was hard and not flavorful. And it also did not fall off the bone. I expected so much more from this place, for being so popular. I don’t understand the hype.

This was the one of the best BBQ restaurants I’ve ever been to! I had pulled pork, brisket, and hot links, with potato salad and baked beans. My wife got baby back ribs with coleslaw and mac and cheese. It was all really great, we shared bites of each. The cornbread muffins were really good too. Then there’s the sauce… The sauce was so good I bought a bottle to go… Service was good, kind of quiet, but the food was really, really good. I even told a server to thank the cooks.

Resturant Rating What does each star represent? 0 * Unacceptable 1 * Poor 2 * Improvement Required 3 * Good 4 * Very Good 5 * Outstanding Cleanliness — 5 Food Quality — 4 Food Portion — 4.5 Food Taste — 5 Location — 4 Entertainment — 0 Ambiance — 3.5 Service — 5 Price — 3.5 Comments — Since being in the South for the last four years I have been from Huntsville to Orange Beach and tried all BBQ in between. This place makes top 10! Great staff! Great taste! With that being said though I would not be able to eat here every weekend due to price, so it can be only special occasions when I go.

I think it goes without saying, I can’t get enough of those cheese biscuits. I want them everyday but then my pants wouldn’t fit quite right anymore. I don’t think that I have eaten as much BBQ in my entire life as I have in the 6 months I’ve lived in Alabama. I randomly crave it very often now, and Jim N Nicks always satisfies that craving. Everything from the pork to the sides to their sweet tea is so delicious, that even once I’m sickly full I want to keep on munching. Last time we went there I got the BBQ potato(I forget what they call it) but it was huge and SO tasty. It lasted me for 3 meals so it was plenty of bang for my buck. I’d recommend trying it. They also have a drive through, which is probably where I’m headed after this hair appointment, because my mouth is watering now.

I was not impressed at all:-(the brisket was okay. I love baked beans I ordered a side of those to enjoy them with my sandwich, that didn’t happen. I was diss appointed in the watery ness of the beans. I hate to say it but that is why I typically steer clear of chain restaurants now, however the boss wanted to eat there. The brisket sandwhich was not terrible, but I think the meat could have been a bit leaner. However I ate it all, hunger had most to do with that. All in all not a bad place if you like average BBQ

We stopped in to Jim N Nicks Bar-B-Q on a Sunday night about 45 minutes before closing time. We were served quickly, but our server(manager?) acted slightly put out and was not very friendly. I ordered the Pig in the Garden Salad, which was really good! My friend ordered the Riblets and was very disappointed, as they were very fatty. The pork in my salad wasn’t fatty at all. It was perfect. The portion size was just right as well. The cheesy biscuits were also delicious! We had barely finished out meal, when the server grabbed our plates and glasses quite abruptly, not even asking if we were finished or if he could get us anything else. While I did enjoy the food here, the service wasn’t friendly at all. I’m hoping it was just an «off» night!

I enjoy the BBQ at Jim N Nick’s, but this location was a slight step down from the one in Montgomery I’d visited a few days prior. The service was great, however. And, as always their biscuits are like Pringles. Once you eat one, you can’t stop! I was, on the other hand, disappointed with the Riblets, which were fatty and tough to eat. We also ordered the Southern Sampler, which my friends devoured. I ordered the beef brisket and smoked chicken with mashed potatoes and black eyed peas. The brisket wasn’t as good as the same the I ordered a few weeks prior, but still good. And, by saying a step down, I’m referring to a notch down from near perfect. It’s hard to be letdown with any visit to Jim N Nicks. Their sides, sauces, biscuits and everything else I’ve had has been very good. This location, meanwhile, fell a tad short than another.

I love bring my Yankee friends here when they come to visit. You should see the face they make when tasting the sweet tea lol. We all agree, the cheese biscuits are orgasmic(can I say that, lol). Today I had the Pig-in-the-Garden(pulled pork on a salad), it’s a great combination of tastes. They handle the big lunch crowd amazingly. I come here a lot and never get tired of it.
