Excellent restaurant. It’s your standard fare restaurant serving American food for a while they had changed our hours from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. but I noticed that it’s gone back to his regular hours of 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. the breakfast is served all day and it is excellent the omelets and a skillet will fill you up you have your choice with the skillet pancakes or toast take the pancakes they are so good. Free refills on coffee.

Generally good food and a very wide range at a very reasonable price. Lots of comfort food choices. Fast and friendly service. I had catfish and it was river-​caught as opposed to farm-​raised; quite good. I also tried the liver and onions with mashed potatos and gravy; you don’t often see liver and onions these days. It was quite good. The baked scrod was not quite as fresh as I would have liked, but overall, this is an excellent place if you are travelling and need a quick relible place.

Food and service are great!
Skillets are a little high, but they give you 4 eggs! And 2 huge pancakes. They have $ 4 breakfast specials from 6am-​10am for all the early birds.
Can’t wait to go back and share a lumberjack meal with someone!

Great food at a great price with friendly and experienced servers. This is a great restaurant to meet someone for a business breakfast as it’s only a couple blocks from the interstate and very easy to find. Highly recommended.

Always excellent food. Great service with the best gyro platter. The garlic dressing is the best dressing I have ever eaten and let me tell you when I was in sophia Bulgaria they had some good garlic dressing but not as fantastic as this place

Massive quantities of perfectly prepared food at old time prices. The service is always friendly and efficient. I have dined here many times and have ordered many different items, and they have always been great. The Grecian chicken is succulent, the pancakes are fluffy and the desserts are delicious. A must every time we visit grandma.

My wife and I absolutely love the Wahington Square Restaurant. This is a quality Greek-​type restaurant with some of the best food in its class you will find. Food is always fresh, flavorful, plentiful, and very reasonably priced. We eat dinner here at least every couple weeks and are never disappointed. It’s always delicious. Wait staff is very friendly and efficient. For a quick, inexpensive meal, we will not go anywhere else.

I wish I could break up the review into 2 options: breakfast, and lunch/​dinner. Breakfast was good. Fluffy pancakes and all the rest. Lunch is a different story. The two things I’ve had so far: horrible, frozen-​type hamburgers, and the southwestern salad toppings consisted of bacon and deep fried, battered, dried-​out chicken. When I told the owner that the salad wasn’t very good, he said, «Well, that’s how we make it.»

I love this restaurant for breakfast, never ate lunch there, but breakfast is awesome! The servers are helpful. The prices are very fair to cheap, and I like the variety on the menu. It’s never too crowded. I truly enjoy their skillets.

I truly love this cute little restaurant. The servers are sweet and helpful. The prices are very fair, and I adore the variety on the menu. I also enjoy how it’s never too crowded (as long as it’s not a holiday. easter, mother’s day, father’s day, etc.) I truly enjoyed their club sandwich

I ate here on the recommendation of someone I met at a job seminar and I was very impressed with the food. I didnt want to eat fast food the entire 5 days of the seminar and the quality was very good. I am giving it 4 stars for professionalism, but I would have given it 5 had they been good about bringing extra bread for when we ordered soups and salads. I give them props for bringing fresh rolls that were hot. I am also impressed with how clean the restaurant was and how friendly the waitstaff was. I have to agree with Jef B. that there’s not a lot of places to choose from on Halsted, but if you want a good meal for a good price Washington Square is the place to go to.

Nothing amazing, but the value is excellent!
I love their grilled cheese deluxe which comes with thr sandwich, soup or salad, bread (yummy rolls!) plus a side, for only 5.55.
I like their cottage fries, and their BLT soup. Their salads are huge, and I never leave there hungry.
Minus one star because they have changed their French dip so that they now use pressed beef which makes it not that great. It used to be very awesome.

Washington Square is nothing special, but if all you want is a cheap, Bakers Square quality meal this place is probably the best in Homewood in the Halsted area. Very clean, family restaurant with good service and prices. I would recommend this over Baker Square, actually. Sometimes you just need to eat before shopping at Jewel-​Osco, that’s where it fits into our lives. We get sick of eating at the nearby Applebee’s all the time. There’s not much on Halsted, the Chili’s is horrible, but this works just fine.
