Location wise, it is a bit out of the way. BUT if you want to see/hold a high end DSLR before actually buying it(unlike just shopping online)… It’s one of the only places in the area you can do that. While it may seem a tad bit understaffed, the man I spoke to at least was pretty well informed about the brands and cameras and accessories and was extremely helpful.

Do yourself a favor if you need to get photo prints, go anywhere else. Walmart, target, any place that will let you print your pictures. At Wolfe Camera prints are vastly overpriced, and for some bizarre reason take over two hours to be printed. The lackluster staff warily has them ready on time, even with that kind of a wait. Today I picked up some photographs, and they printed the wrong number of one photo buy one too many, and another photo I want to few. I just don’t have it in me to wait two more hours for them to make another print. As for purchasing cameras, I don’t know anything about their selection, but I am sure anything you could find there can be purchased on Amazon.

Last Wednesday, I stopped in at the Homewood store to purchase a new camera. I’ve been planning to upgrade to a digital SLR, a wide angle lens kit and some interior lighting accessories for some time now, and since I’ve purchased three cameras from Wolf in the past, I decided that I would buy from them again. Well, scratch that idea. When I walked in, I had my current camera hanging around my neck, as I wanted to do some side by side comparisons. This should have been a clue to the clueless staff that I was likely a serious customer. Unfortunately for them, it wasn’t. There was one family In the store that was being served when I walked in. There were three staff members that were working at the time. One guy was assisting the family, a second gentleman was assisting a customer on the phone and the third guy was just standing around looking clueless. Now, I’m a patient man, but, I do have my limits. I stood patiently waiting to be acknowledged, and nothing. Not a, «We’ll be with you in a moment», not a «Welcome to Wolf/Ritz, whomever we are this week», NOTHING! I was never even GREETED, much less served! Now, I’m not naïve enough to think that I’m Wolf’s biggest customer, I’m sure that they have professional photographers that spend thousands of dollars at a time, and probably with more frequency than me. However, I was prepared to spend about a thousand bucks for what I need! That’s not chump change! So, since it’s obvious that Wolf no longer cares about my business, I won’t give it to them. I will order what I need from B&H Photo and Video online. I doubt that I will have to beg them to take my money.
