Papa’s Primo Pizza

Been here a few times since my first review. The food has given a lot worse. The crust in the pizza seems to have turned into cardboard. The boneless wings I raved about before have really been disappointing. I don’t know what they changed but it hasn’t been fire the better.
The service has gone down also. More then once I’ve gone into the restaurant and left after ten minutes because there was no one around at all. I could have robbed the place and no one would be the wiser. Once I even called the restaurant from the dining area to place an order. «When it is ready, I’m actually sitting in your dining area. Just bring it out here.»
I don’t know. I had high hopes for the place after moving into the area. Now the place seems complacent. Like they’ve given up. Oh well. There are a lot of other options in town that are similarly priced that are higher quality. I’m not likely to return.

The place was recommended to me a few times, and like most recommendations I receive, I just save them for later. Finally, I broke down and decided to give the place a shot, as a lot of folks told me I’d enjoy it. I did. The pizza is great, a little pricey, but the quality more than makes up for the price. They make a great, thin-​crust pizza and they do it right. Given the area, and the rarity of good pizza places, this place is a gem. If you haven’t given it a shot, do so, you will not be disappointed.

I ordered delivery from Papa’s Primo Pizza two days in a row. The first order was for a Mexican Pizza and a Pepperoni Pizza which were both «just okay». Delivery was prompt and the price was acceptable but the pizza was sub-​par. But in their defense, I guess if you’re from Honesdale you’re not used to «good pizza» anyway! My second order was for two salads and a tuna wrap. Delivery took an hour and we’re only a block and a half from them. The salads were both lacking the extras. We wanted a salad, not lettuce in a container (not to mention some of the lettuce was bad)! My tuna wrap was watery and the tuna taste like it was on its way out! The only way I was able to eat it was by doctoring it up with extra mayo, jalapeño peppers, salt, and pepper. The only reason I ordered food the second time is because they are the only place to deliver in the late afternoon (aside from Paulies, but they’re a whole other story). I won’t be ordering again unless I’m desperate!

The specialty pizzas are so good here! Never had a problem and always quick service. Pizza is consistently good!

Delicious, juicy NY style pizza. Love it at the restaurant and find it stands up well to the toaster oven the next day. Tasty, well-​prepared entrees. Very friendly, efficient service. AND, this isn’t a culinary comment, they have the kindness and balls to serve their food on informative placemats that push back against domestic violence. That means something to me. But go for the food! You won’t be disappointed.

Such a nice place. If you are looking for good solid pizza at a nice price go here. My son likes the chicken wing pizza. I do too. wings are fine. Kids and I enjoy stopping in here.
