For the taste, 3 stars and for the price 2. I enjoyed the Korean plate special but not enough to justify the $ 13 price tag for such meager portions. It’s a small and charming place with the owners of the joint just hanging out, doing their bills and trying to answer their jury summons, «Babe, have I ever been convicted of a felony?» «Yes, plenty,» Babe retorted. It’s like eating at my auntie’s house, except auntie wouldn’t charge me $ 12.95 for a couple pieces of kalbi and 3 pieces of chicken.

We were staying at the Kona Seaside, Leesa, one of the staff at the Kona heard me say I wanted some sticky rice, she telephoned her sister and asked her to make some especially for me. I couldn’t believe the loving hospitality we were greeted with, and Mahalo Nui Loa to everyone at Kau Kau Korner for making our journey worth every moment, we ate the best purple banana leaf rolled sticky rice I have ever tasted while on our journey to see Kilauea, it was the perfect snack treat.

Awesome local-style. Loco Moco was huge and tasty and coconut fried shrimp with fries hit the spot. Waitress was great. Deffinately worth a stop on your way back from Waipio

Don’t order the saimin unless you want to pay $ 7.50 for a bowl of 50 cent Maruchan chicken ramen. What a rip off!!!
