Great food and very clean. The owner served us and was wonderful. If you are looking for quality vegan food on Hawaii, this is a must stop. Right in the old downtown.

Greatly enjoyed this place. While located inside a small town, the fresh juice was very refreshing. A good break from salty fried foods. It was our first time trying brewed cacao, and liked the slight bitterness(although the server offered to sweeten it with local, organic honey). The Gazpacho was packed with good stuff, and we really enjoyed the Banana Mac-nutta on guava bread. Also, the staff was very friendly. Having seen plastic straws stuck deep inside the noses of sea creatures, I appreciated Sea DandeLion Café’s reusable metal straws.

Love this sweet café! The owners are beyond kind. The vibe is adorable and the food DELISH! Eating here felt like you were eating at a good friends house. We had several items: Kombucha for starters was(as always) is great. Brewed on island and served on tap by HI kombucha. Next we had a smoothie made with coconut milk, avocado, banana and I can’t remember what other amazing ingredients. It was really good. Not too sweet… just how I like it. Even my husband enjoyed it and he tends to love sweet things. We ordered the BLT vegan style. ONO!(Delicious) and also had an order of the little sliders which were also SUPER Ono!(We ended up ordering 2 more they were so good). My daughter had the vegan poke salad. She’s not a mushroom fan so I enjoyed them for her. She really enjoyed the rest of the salad. I think it had mung beans and a really cool seaweed! The dressing was yummy. Daughter got a delicious vegan mint chocolate chip gelato for dessert. It was so good. It tasted like Christmas! :) Our friends who were also vegan and joined us were also very happy with their meal too. We loved it and will most definitely be back.

What a wonderful find! This was, by far, the best place we ate while visiting the Big Island. What makes it amazing? First of all, the owners are super kind. Not only did they whip up delicious meals for me and my husband, but they gave us other recommendations for vegetarian restaurants on the island. They also gave us tips of things to see and do while visiting the island. Second, the food was simply delicious. I wish I’d snagged a few photos of our food(I had a great kale salad, while hubby enjoyed the sliders), but we were both too hungry and to stop and snap any. Did I mention that everything was fresh and made-to-order? Third, this place is so relaxing. The atmosphere is casual and laid back; we felt so welcome. We’ll definitely be back!

Yum! This is the best word that describes Sea Dandelion Café. After our 3rd visit to this shop, we finally found they were open — happy day! Greeted on the sidewalk w/a tasting of cocoa bean tea, we had already checked out their menu & knew we wanted to give them a try so walked right in & made our final decisions Mac Nut & Banana Sandwich — just as yummy as it sounded Even better were their«burger» sliders Using some kind of superfood-burger-patty, they mixed up the buns & condiments that went on the burger Mr chose the option of all 3 so we could try them all & the spicy was our fave Washed it all down w/the best smoothie a/avocado, bananas & some other stuff — it was incredible So if in the area, getting ready to hike around Waipio Valley, or just passing on your way somewhere else, you’ll definitely want to be sure to stop in Sea Dandelion!

We dropped in, mostly curious, while on vacation early February 2014. Apparently we LUCKEDOUT and chanced upon them their first ‘dinner’ night ever. Proved one of our most favorite dining experiences on the Big Island… Exceptional food, highest quality ingredients and a very creative menu. They easily accommodated a number of food sensitivities with a huge smile. The level of service and hospitality they exemplified is rarely found these days. Suelang, Eden and their beautiful children(«The Welcoming Committee») are nothing less than awesome! They seem people who truly care about others and dedicate themselves to healthy food and healthy living. We’re already planning our return to the island, and Sea Dandelion is easily one of the reasons why. They go perfectly with everything else beautiful Hawai’i has to offer. Bravo!

Wow, what a great veggie burger — such cool toppings, like smoked, spicy taro spread, Olokai Kahuku sea asparagus, naked cow dairy Waianae Christmasberry cheese, local tomato and cucumber. Owners and Eden and Suelang are so sweet. They can give you the story behind each local farm to table ingredient. Highly recommend this cozy little place! Eating healthy has never tasted so good.

Amazing place! Very warm and inviting, I could sit there all day. Food was excellent, had the poke, which was full of flavor and so FRESH! The ‘BLT’ was delicious and filling with some delicious guava served on the side. The awa was the best I have tried on the island. Mild flavor and so smooth! This is a definite must try for anyone in the area!

We were so lucky to have found this place in Honokaa. Everything from the BLT to the sliders to the vegan gelato was delicious. I normally feel like a dense immobile mass of carbs from what I eat while on vacation, but I felt great after eating here. The food we had here was healthy, wholesome, and savory. The service is both intimate and quick. Being tourists, this was also an excellent place to relax while learning more about big island’s culture and landmarks from the extremely charming and fascinating owners, Suelang and Eden. They voluntarily wrote out an impromptu and complete travel itinerary for us, while also feeding us free samples of unique treats/drinks. Suelang and Eden’s constant generosity and warm personalities made it difficult for us to leave. You’ll like them even if you’re a misanthrope.

Deliciously well made food presented in a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend the BLT with Hawaiian Chile hot sauce. Poke was flavorful, full-bodied and fresh. The Banana Mac Nut loaf paired with Pineapple Habanero jelly left a sweet satisfying tang. Excellent meal not only because of the Vegan/Vegetarian menu but as a enjoyable dining experience. In short: Eat Here. Kthxbye.

I decided to stop in here after hiking down Waipi’u(beautiful hike btw) and I’m so glad I did! Such amazing energy to the place and the hostess was incredibly kind and welcoming! I had no idea what to get so she suggested the Awa(Kava) bowl to help recuperate from the hike and then had the Banana Mac Nut Sandwich which was delicious! I highly recommend coming here!

Super cute little café that just opened up recently, owned by a super sweet couple. Love the vibe of this place! The kava was one of the most mellow tasting ones I’ve ever had and I washed it down with some dairy-free coconut milk mint chocolate chip gelato. My daughter also had a mango Popsicle and mother-in-law had the choco tea, which we liked so much we took some, unbrewed, to make at home. Unfortunately, we really just stopped for a drinks and weren’t hungry. I would definitely love to come back here for some food next time.

We were so pleased to have found Sea Dandelion Café. My 9 year old daughter, being vegetarian, has a difficult time finding healthy choices while traveling. While we were reading the menu in the window, the owners popped outside to say hello and offered us a delicious trial of iced chocolate tea. We each saw a few items that looked interesting, so we got a table. Every taste was an adventure! My 9 year old loved the Banana Mac Nut sandwich on whole grain bread. My 4 year old enjoyed a banana cinnamon almond milk with a slice of fresh banana bread. I devoured my veggie burger sliders with spicy slaw and one with a dill slaw. The vegan poke was a treat. My mom(who never eats kale) had the dark greens salad with seeds and various veggies. It had a scrumptious apple cider vinegar dressing. She said, «Deelish!» We wish we could go back on this trip! We had great conversation with a few other patrons. The owners were an absolute pleasure! We left the café with full bellies, smiles and hugs.

Healthy, easy, delicious. On the main avenue of Honokaa town is a great selection of organic, mostly locally-sourced, lovingly prepared food and Hawaiian awa’, a Taro-based, Polynesian beverage. My Life Foods veggie burger,(these are made on Maui), was typically wonderful, the owners included some refreshing, spicy kraut that was great with the sandwich. They accommodate vegan, vegetarian and allergy sensitive eaters. Support local families, eat delicious food, good vibes here.
