Dr. Ando is rare in the medical profession – a physician who actually spends time with his patients rather than the usual 5 minutes. He is the 7th doctor I’ve taken my daughter to and actually listened to what we had to say. The regimen he recommended for her is helping already.

Dr. Ando’s office was a terrible experience, possibly the worst medical experience I’ve ever had. They make everything incredibly difficult from making the first appointment(must have a family doctor refer you even if your insurance doesn’t require referrals) to filling prescriptions. After jumping through their hoops, I finally saw Dr. Ando a month after my first call to him. He refused to write me a nasal spray prescription I’ve been on for years and which other allergists have been and are very willing to write. When I asked to pick up my allergy shot extracts to try a different doctor, they told me, «It’s our office policy that if you leave us for any reason other than insurance, you are not welcome back.» Dr. Ando and I broke up with each other, I moved on and found quality care that is willing to help me stay healthy.

I would avoid Richard Ando if I were you. My mom has been seeing him for her«allergies» for the past year and she has been getting progressively worse, to the point where she couldn’t get out of bed for weeks at a time, and almost died. Unfortunately, I am not exaggerating. I finally flew her to the mainland to have her worked up by REAL doctors and of the two we saw so far, both said that she doesn’t have allergies as severe as he claims and his list of medicines he prescribed her(over a page full) are not only unnecessary but harming her to the point that it disrupts her daily life. It took less than a few minutes for them to realize that none of her problems were caused by allergies and the medicines he was giving her was harming her. She, in fact, doesn’t need any allergy medication at all and her real problem actually has nothing to do with allergies. This«doctor»(I cringe at that word because he hardly deserves the title) is either unethical, or a complete moron. Neither of which make for a good doctor. Save yourself and your family alot of heartache and do not trust this guy. And get this– while you’re in his office, he makes you watch a network marketing video and tries to sell you their products!!! This is so ludicrous and NOT acceptable. After less than a week of being off her medicines prescribed by him, she is finally feeling a little better but it will take time to offset the damage he has done to her body. I have been worried sick about her and everyone wondered why she was not getting better. I am furious and considering legal action. My mom did not want me to write this review but how could I not say anything and allow him to harm the other people who see him? He should lose his license!
