Atlas Construction

These guys are the most pathetic lying cowards in Hawaii. Because of the recent law change allowing owners to build ohana quarters I went to Atlas for a bid on a 900 sq. ft. 1 bed /​1 bath addition, and these hustlers wanted over half a million dollars! More than double the offer we got from other contractors. Not a difficult or extravagant project, just a simple 1bd/​1bath (on a flat level lot that’s easy to get to). I told them my budget of $ 250K in my first conversation with «Alan», who assured me that price was absolutely «workable». But as soon as I gave them my blueprints everything fell apart. They cancelled our first meeting, that they had set up. Two weeks later when we finally did meet (at their filthy offices) Alan was disheveled and very nervous. He looked like a little boy that had just been scolded by his mother. Mumbling under his breath he said «Its a little more than we had discussed» as he pushed a bid in front of me asking for $ 505,000!!! WTF? Like I had no idea what construction costs are. Like I was some rich moron there to pay off the Porsche in their driveway. These jerks made me drive in from the other side of the island, on my only day off, just to hand me that diaper-​load of a bid. Didn’t have the courtesy to call me ahead of time to say they were over budget.
OK, so it’s obvious Atlas construction is a joke. Maybe they don’t like working on the Leeward side, maybe they don’t like the people who live there. Maybe a measly $ 250K project is beneath them. Or maybe they’re just a bunch of lying sleazy hustlers.
The people at Atlas construction are dishonest — simple as that. If this is how they treat home owners looking for a bid, heaven knows what kind of sleazy unethical stuff they would pull after you hired them.
I left my meeting with Atlas feeling they had just thrown a huge middle-​finger in my face, and I have no idea why. If you have a project I STRONGLY recommend you stay as far away from Atlas construction as you can. You wont get 5 seconds of honesty out of them. They are by far the most unprofessional hacks I have ever come across.

Your search for a contractor has ended! I interviewed practically every other contractor, then I found Atlas. My only regret is that I didn’t find them sooner.
I had to tear down our old house in order to build one that would be more suitable for two family members with physical disabilities. We were hooked from our first meeting with Josh, and the next meeting with him and Bruce. Everyone at the company treats you like a part of their family. We now have a home that exceeded all of our expectations. Strangers walking down the street stop me to tell me how beautiful my home is! There were some serious retaining walls that had to be built and I watched the whole build process. So I can say with confidence that this house is going to be here long after I’m gone. I wouldn’t have anyone else build for me than these folks. They knocked it out of the park!

If you want your dream home, Atlas is the construction company for you!!! They helped us to build a house that till today, we cannot believe we own. They guided us through the entire process. Were available morning, noon and night. Literally!!! Helped us to make sure we got what we needed and wanted in our home. Their staff were reliable, hard working and truly cared about our home and our family. Thank you Bruce, Nathan, Rodney, Brian and the whole crew who helped make our dreams a reality!!!
