I thought that the rocket –ship growth was going to be way too good to be true! Even Starbucks closed a bunch of store locations after even they realized they opened way too many way to close to each other. It is hard to completely corner the market sometimes in Hawaii– an exception being like the ABC Stores. I did like how simple the ordering process was– and liked the beef. But I can see how it got old fast to many many people and would quickly make people in general loose interest.

Went to this place pretty regularly. It had gone downhill a little bit over the past year, but still a pretty good dinner to pick up on the way home, and reasonably priced. When we went on 9÷5÷14 they said it was their last day. That’s too bad! Will have to find a nice place for take-out steak plates now.

As of 09/05/2014 they closed down. I have no idea why such a great place just suddenly closed down.

After a long day, the Blazin Burger hits the spot. It was everything you expect, from other Unilocal pictures and post, and more! Ate the whole thing plus salad(which I opted for instead of fries but next time when I eat there, I’ll get the fries so it’s not soggy). It’s a little expensive for all the time but great for once in a while. Aaron got the Korean fried chicken plate which is always good.

Asked for medium rare steak more on the rare side and got a done steak. Got garlic steak and hardly tasted the garlic(believe they only use powdered). Shrimp was really bland as well. On the bright side the portion was great but not enough to compensate for the lack of quality. They dont take debit card(only credit) but was not really bothered by that.

Called in an order for 5: 3 steak plates, 1 philly cheese steak, 1 blazin burger. Pick up was quick and easy. Braddah working the front was cool, even though my co-workers all wanted separate receipts. Steak plates were good, cheese steak was ok, burger was very flavorful. I was a little shocked by the price of the steak plate though. I havent been in a while, but when i did frequent this place(close to 10 years ago) the regular plate and small drink was $ 6

LOCATION: Located on the mauka side of King Street a couple of hundred yards Kokohead of Houghtailing/Waiakamilo Road, Kalihi Blazin’ Steaks(KBS) is easy to find. The parking lot is ample though it can be crowded at times. ATMOSPHERE: Comfy in a pizza parlor kind of way(which it was). Ample seating. Menus easy to read. SERVICE: Friendly, knowledgeable, efficient. FOOD: The half pound burger is actually two quarter pounder’s slapped together with cheese. It wasn’t bad. But if you have a burger thing going get the blazing steak burger. Wow. A quarter pound patty with cheese, jalapenos, pastrami and some kind of special dressing. An unctuous delight. And for under eight dollars it was worth every bite. The Philly hoagie sandwich was another mouthwatering treat. I kept hearing these tiny little grunts of satisfaction as we stuffed our faces. I had to chuckle as I thought my partner was really enjoying his meal. But then I realized it was coming from both us. The KBS steak plate is excellent. Tri-tip has always been one of my favorite cuts. Did you know, that in some places on the mainland, particularly the East Coast, they don’t even know what tri-tip is? Odd. The prices were pretty cheap. Even considering what you got. SUMMARY: If the carnivore in you demands serious attention, KBS can help you. And they have a pretty good array of other stuff too. Worth checking out.

This was the«spot» for my friends and I back in high school. Years later, I can still say that the atmosphere still feels the same. I always try the tri-tip steak every time I come back here, and their cheeseburgers are so juicy and go well with their large cut fries. I’m always treated with friendly service here. Mahalo, BSK!

I was extremely impressed with this Blazin Steaks. I’ve been to a few, but this one has been the best. Their parking lot is right next to them. Not the biggest lot and if it’s crowded, it gets tight, but way better than the Atkinson one. Inside the restaurant, it’s pretty roomy and cleaner than what I expected. They have a TV and free wi-fi as well. I got the garlic steak and was surprised as how to tasty it was. It is their regular steak cooked in their tasty garlic sauce. The garlic in the sauce is not overpowering at all, but just a teeny bit salty. Oh and they ask how you want your steak cooked! This is the first Blazin Steak I’ve been to that asks that! Their rice was good… I know, I know, how great can rice be? Well it was sticky and not the boro boro kine! The salad was good, because it was freshly cut romaine lettuce and not the package iceberg lettuce with brown edges that a lot of places serve. The cashier was super nice. He was very polite and laid back. I have yet to try their different menu items, but so far I’m hooked on their garlic steak!

I like this blazin steaks. I almost always get good customer service and the food is ono. They always play a movie or game on the big screen tv so it feels very relaxed.

I came here for dinner on a friday night. The place was dead. There was only myself, my husband, my daughter, & one other lady. It was old & very dark inside. I ordered medium rare steak with shrimp, brown rice, & salad. For $ 8.99 i thought this was an excellent meal! They cooked my steak exactly how i wanted it and the steak & shrimp had flavor. It was awesome! Most def coming back here for a cheap & tasty meal!

I have been craving a Loco Moco for a while now and when a friend of mine suggests we go to Blazin’ Steaks, I was crossing my fingers that they had it. When we got there, they had it! And I ordered it. LOCOMOCO Quality: 6⁄10 it was OK. The gravy was a little too salty and too thick Portion: 20⁄10MASSIVE, two huge patties. I barely ate the second one. Once I run out of rice, I pretty much stop eating. Satisfaction: 10⁄10. I got what I wanted and was full. This was only my 3rd time ever eating in there, but I’d definitely come back and try more of their local food they have posted. I love that there are photos of their plates on the wall.

This review is for the garlic steak plate… First the positives: –Private lot with ample parking, albeit at little tight. –The cashier was polite and cheerful –There are pictures showing some of the things they offer as soon as you walk in. –They have expanded to things other than steak & chicken and now offer burgers, fries, salads and appetizers. I actually came here before a long time ago and thought their steak was A-OK. But this time, The Bad happened: I opted to pay a dollar more and got the garlic steak plate but what I got instead was something more along the lines of teriyaki steak, if you want to even call it steak. It tasted like it had shoyu/sugar in it & I did not even get the garlic flavor out of it either so I’m kind of wondering if they gave me teriyaki instead of garlic even though the cashier called out my order when she handed it over to me… She said garlic steak. What I actually got was more like a meat stir-fry. Upon close inspection, it looks like the meat was pre-cooked, then sliced and then upon ordering they cooked it so more. It was also sliced too thin. Perhaps so they can heat it up quicker? I also ordered it medium rare and it was more like medium well. For $ 9.00+ tax it was disappointing. I hope they can improve their steak preparation otherwise I’m never coming back. I miss when Kiawe Grill used to be accross the street. At least they knew how to cook a steak and they did not even have the word«steak» in their name. If you want to try some of their other options, I cannot give those a rating as I have not tried them out. Looks like expanding the menu has hurt the quality of their steak preparation here. My quest for a quick affordable steak in the hood continues. 31 Unilocal Review Challenge(7⁄31)

This BSK is seriously easy to miss when you’re driving down King thanks to the metal sign out front which blends in with the building(we were looking for the usual logo). It still looks like the Pizza Hut that was once housed there, both inside and out. The restaurant was busy when we went, and so the service was pretty slow. Loco moco and steak platters did not disappoint, however. Portion sizes are humongo, prices are good, parking lot is on the smallish side. Other than that, unremarkable.

This place is just ok. Nothing special. If you’re craving some cheap steak that’s what you get. Dry, not so good cuts of steak. You get salad(which is the cheap mixed iceberg lettuce greens) and rice with your drink. Not a bad deal, but you get what you pay for so don’t be thinking you’re gonna get filet mignon at $ 6.00 a plate. It’s funny to see this place be converted into a Blazin’ Steaks because my mom used to take me here as a child when it was Pizza Hut. The building still is shaped like an old hut and there are plenty of stalls in the parking lot, although it is in dire need of repaving.

The husband and I are self-proclaimed Blazin Steaks connoisseurs… seriously…we are NOT foo-foo food eaters. Give us a good amount of great food at a decent price and we are HOOKED. This Blazin Steaks is the best. Friendly greetings when you arrive and always a «Thank You, have a great night» when you leave. They are also one of the FEW Blazin Steaks that give TWO pieces of moist, broiled chicken in a combo plate(a big plus in the hubby’s eyes), the steak is cooked and seasoned just right, sliced well and they have brown rice that isn’t mushy or dry. The Kim Chee Steak plate is really good, although I have to scrape off some of the mayo sauce. I think I’ve tried it all, but my favorite is as follows: Steak(medium) & Shrimp with Brown Rice, Ranch dressing on the side. They also have a good sized TV in the dining area playing sports or an action movie. Six bucks for a steak plate and a movie??? AWESOME!!!

This time, I came right at closing time. I got a steak plate with all Toss salad. Gotta cut some of the rice. :-) Anyways, good stuff as always and semi healthy with all Toss? Big G
