Ordered the Fried Noodles and Teriyaki chicken plate… it had 1 scoop of rice, 1 scoop of mac salad, a bunch of noodles and pieces of chicken which had a vague resemblance to shoyu. The advertised description was what you get, no taste… even the mac salad! My spouse ordered the Tofu and Mix Vegetables… it had 1 scoop of rice, 1 scoop of mac salad, another layer of rice with the Tofu and Mixed Vegs, needless to say her Vegetables were over cooked! We ended up throwing the platea away!

There are slim pickings for lunch around the punch bowl area, so thank you David’s lunch wagon for your adding some variety to the food options. His lunch wagon is parked daily M-F on Queen’s Medical Center campus, right by the Board of Water Supply parking lot. Usually it’s just him and one other person in the truck and they are always hustling– they make Vietnamese sandwiches and stir-fry plate lunches for very affordable prices. My two favorite dishes are the tofu sandwich(comes on bahn mi loaf) and the tofu string bean stir fry. Cash only!

Yesterday I decided that I didn’t want the lunch that I had packed for myself and figured the best option was to head down to the lunch wagons that frequent the QMC back parking lot during the lunch hours. I’m pretty easy to please as far as food is concerned, and since service wasn’t on the top of the list today getting a good star rating was easy as pie. I enjoyed the sauté chicken with two(2) scoops of rice and a single scoop of mac salad. The chicken and onions were cooked absolutely fantastically, and how the sauce seeped into the rice really made the entire dish. I’m not a huge fan of mac salad, frankly, I just don’t like it, and theirs was really very bland needing ALOT of salt and pepper to bring any flavor whatsoever. I was told afterwards that you can order the plate without mac salad, and next time that’s what I’ll have to do. Reasonably priced $ 7.75, so it was a great deal, and to me, the perfect portion. Great alternative to a «bring from home» lunch

David’s Lunchwagon is a family run business that spends it’s weekday’s behind the Queens Medical Center in a parking lot next to POB3 and hiding a little behind the slightly more popular Koi Lunchwagon. I have enjoyed the speed, consistency and freshness of David’s Lunchwagon for around 10 years. I have tried most things on the menu and have only good things to say about the food after all these years. The wagon itself could use a paint job and some new tires. The neighboring truck updated their look a couple of years ago so I thought David may do the same. Although the truck remains in despair, the food has always been good, somewhat healthy and I have never heard of complaints from people who have been there. I feel DL’s has healthier food in general then the other lunch truck’s. All the sandwiches are good and made on your choice of the usual Bale French Roll or a croissant. You can’t go wrong ordering any of the plates either. I like the Eggplant or Long Bean Satay when I feel some veggies are in order. The Garlic Steak and the Lemongrass Pork Chop are also winners. David will even tweak your plate a bit if you ask. If you don’t need two scoops of rice for example. I get my plates with one rice, one mac salad and one green salad, ha! There are plenty of drinks and bottled water sitting on ice and of course Sriracha to add a lil zing to your sandwich or plate. DL’s definitely sells out of some of the more popular items and can have a bit of a crowd and wait at peak lunch time. I don’t mind the wait because I know everything is prepared to order and comes to you at the proper temperature, fresh and yummy.

David’s Lunchwagon is located in the parking lot next to POBIII. The lot is pretty hard to miss during lunchtime because of the crowd.(There’s two trucks in the lot — David’s is behind Koi.) I’ve recently discovered two of DL’s chicken plates — Chicken Katsu Curry and Lemongrass Chicken. Although they may sound like the typical run-of-the-mill local plate-lunch plates, they aren’t. Seriously, if you haven’t tried these two, you’re missing out. Chicken Katsu Curry — with a twist! It’s regular chicken Katsu, but with coconut milk curry. Drool. It’s so freakin’ delish! Lemongrass Chicken — it’s not the typical lemongrass chicken you’d find in a Vietnamese restaurant. Its barbecued essence brings a local appeal on a more stereotypically traditional viet dish. It’s like local-style BBQ chicken, but with a lemongrass sauce! Soooo good. Beat the lunch rush if you want the good stuff AKA the two dishes I mentioned. The Chicken Katsu Curry sells out quick! Cash only, but I don’t mind.

Stuck in the back of the more prominent Koi Lunch wagon but a entirely different style of food. The chicken plates like the Sate Chicken is more of a stir fry type great if you want a good plate lunch without the heaviness like the previously mentioned lunch-wagon and there are a lot of plate lunches with more veggies in them like Tofu w/Asparagus, Tofu w/Long bean, & Tofu w /Eggplant just to name a few. Plus the line is shorter but they stir fry your food when you order it so you do have to wait a bit but they are pretty quick.

More«healthier» options than Koi Lunchwagon, doesn’t take card only cash. Been missing from the foodie scene for 3 months. Got the lemongrass chicken not realizing there are some foods I still can’t eat. Wom wom. Once my appetite comes back I’m definitely revisiting this food truck. There were many plate lunch choices on the menu, way more than Koi’s lunchwagon. I like that David’s lunchwagon not only had more options but there were more veggies on the menu. My coworker mopped his entire plate and my husband said the lemongrass chicken was good.
