Dean Miyamoto, CPA

From the 1 review that was posted I had hope that Dean would be able to help me with my tax needs. My initial contact was good but after he realized that I was not going to be a «large money maker» he passed me off to one of his subordinates and treated me as my business did not matter to him. I would not recommend him to anyone not planning on being a yearly customer and one that is normally paying $ 2−3K for preparations.
I did not quote his email that was written to his colleague but had instead emailed me. Here is what was sent to me.

Can u meet with this person in May? Only want to take on if he is not flakey and only fee conscious as it looks like a one-​shot deal
so don’t want to give our services away.»

This firm continues to faithfully commit to working with each taxpayer it agrees to take on. To presume that you are going to have Dean, the owner of the business handle your taxes personally is arrogant, unrealistic, shows inexperience and is foolish. All of the CPAs who work for the firm are decent, informative and expert. They keep their CPA licenses and professional development, current. They have to. Otherwise they wouldn’t be Certified Public Accountants. Hello?
Furthermore, just because you think you deserve the firm’s owner to do your personal taxes based upon how much you make or do not make, demonstrates immaturity on the client’s part. Moreover, if Dean is handling personal or business taxes himself, it is probably due to the length of time the client has been with him, not how much money they make. One man can’t do EVERYONE’S taxes.
If Dean agrees to take you on as a client and assigns you to one of the firms CPAs he is putting his trust in them. Why should you do any less? How can you base your petty Unilocal review on gossip and «what you heard?» Unbelievable. If you have no first hand knowledge of working with Dean or any of the other CPAs, perhaps a little shutting of the pie hole is in order.
