*Saturday Nights* I honestly wish I liked this event more… I really really do. History: «replaced» Ka in Ward Center as the«place to go before Ginza.» Promoted by the same company and bringing in the same crowd. Asian. Like the other reviewers, I am also Asian, and in every city there is also the token Asian club. So don’t hate on it for that reason. Hate on it because the venue is absolutely NOT conductive for a club. It’s a classy older lady trying to dress up in tight clothes and hooker shoes to relive the days of her youth… it just isn’t pretty. Cover/Line: $ 10 – 20 Cover. Know someone. Line? not so bad around 10:30, but it really depends on the event that day. The first night was crazy busy, but has subsequently has gotten slower and slower because of the items below: Music: OK. It doesn’t flow through the club very well. DJ is pretty good, but needs to change up the music selections more often from week to week(and club to club for that matter). Same DJ for Fabric & Ginza. Space: I think the biggest issue I have with this place is the venue it’s in. It’s a great idea, a club inside the Honolulu Design Center! But it ends up being a mismatch of areas that are too big and awkwardly shaped, never blending to have a great flow. The bar is a grid lock to get to the dance floor. All the loungers are in the wine area standing by the highchairs. Bottle service is in the dance floor area separated by flimsy stands. The whole space is too bright & the ceilings too high. With a different set up, this place could possibly be great. Crowd: Asian for the most part, I expect no less from Racesauce. haha Drinks/Service: Bar is a gridlock. They don’t open the restaurant bar for use during the night. If they blocked off the rest of the area, could be a great selling point. Wine bar is great for the lounge & the purpose intended, but there is a reason why wine isn’t the first choice of club goers.(Get the $ 50 card for $ 30 on Wednesdays) Overall, this place just has an identity crisis when it comes to FABRIC. Love the wine bar & live music on other nights! Racesauce: find somewhere else to promote please :(This venue is destroying the valuable clubbing of my youth.

I had some friends in town so we decided to take them to a new hip club in town. I found this place on an Internet search and it said tat the cover was $ 10, which we felt was reasonable. When we got there the door girl said it was $ 15, which was a turn off considering she was sitting at a dirty plastic crème fold up picnic table at a design center. I mean, really?! We paid the $ 30 per couple and were more disappointed inside. The crowd inside are predominantly Asian freshman college students who love to dance in groups facing one another. I’m Asian myself so I can say that, but diversity is key. Diversity in age groups would be nice too. Considering the design center is a contemporary swanky place, the crowd was extremely young and not very sophisticated. I’m just saying! Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this place. I went to the Addiction after and had a blast, so did my guests.

Fabric at the Honolulu Design Center is one of Hawaii’s newest Saturday 21+ clubbing hot spots. Each and every Saturday night from 9:30PM — 2:00AM is hosted by Element Group Hawaii and RaceSauce, so it’s a guaranteed good time.(Plus, Doc Rock is always on the mic.) If you are unfamiliar with the previous clubbing events at the Honolulu Design Center, don’t be intimidated. After entering from the parking structure, take the elevators to the second floor, to the Cupola Events Theatre and the Amuse Wine Bar, where it opens up to the party. Get your drinks from the Amuse Wine Bar or the other makeshift service bar(s) around the club. Bottle service is set up inside the Cupola Events Theatre, where the dance floor thrives.(For Guest List and Table Reservations, contact the Element Group via Facebook.) Cover is usually $ 10, unless you bring a bunch of girls or know somebody. Valet parking and street parking are available. Unilocal 365 — #169/365

It’s not easy finding an all-around great club in Honolulu. Parking can become a problem especially if you rather save your cash and the hassle of flagging down a taxi to get you to and from. However, for Fabric in the Honolulu Design Center it hasn’t been a problem since there is plenty along Piikoi and Pensacola, or valet in the adjoining parking lot(not to be mixed up with the guest parking for the Moana Pacific towers). The Club is hosted at the Cupola Theatre and Amuse Wine Bar, offering an open bar, bottle service and use of the Wine Machines at the wine bar. Luckily, I stocked up my Amuse Wine Bar card before coming with their Wine Lover’s Special(Get $ 50 on your Wine Card for $ 30 on Monday and Wednesday). The modern appeal of the Honolulu Design Center makes even the average Joe look like a classy, well-to-do bachelor and the DJs really know how to spin a mix of jams to keep the crowd’s dance hunger satiated. I would definitely return since it’s convenient and a great hot spot to hit on a Saturday night, especially if you want to avoid Waikiki altogether. Will do bottle service the next time seeing as it gets pretty packed to get drinks at the bar.
