I was an everyday customer while living in the neighborhood. The staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable, and they carried magazines and comics. Their specials changed… all everyone cares about nowadays is their musubi. They don’t accept food stamp/EBT. I rather have the plate lunch from the take out place next door, than the food they serve. All of the beverage prices are sky high, the magazines are gone, and they stopped selling my favorite snack,(pizza pocket). Fastop dropped out of my favorite places to shop.

When I first tried to check in here I couldn’t find it. I later found out why because I was spelling it as Fast stop. Nope it’s one word. FASTOP! So is it FASTOP or FASTOP or FASTOP or F ASTOP ;) Ok well moving on. This fastop is in conjunction with a gas station called Freedom which consists of 8 pumps. One way in through School street side. Exit out of Gulick. I mainly come here for the musubis because if you have five kids or more, the 2 for $ 2 musubis is not only good on your wallet, it’s also an energy saver serving as a good after school, pre football practice snack. The selections are few but they do sell the usual drinks, liquor, snacks, slushes, manapua, pork hash, hot dogs, and ice creams. In addition, they also serve Chester’s Fried Chicken. You can purchase it as an individual piece or in a plate which includes rice and Mac salad(mini: $ 3.99, regular: $ 5.99). It actually tastes okay. Crispy and not greasy. It’s a little dry but nothing ketchup can’t fix. The staff is very helpful. I walked in at 7am on Saturday wanting 14 musubis and without flinching they said, «yah can!» I asked them if it can be made in 45min and they said again without flinching, «yah can!» Sweet! 14 musubis for $ 14! The spam is cooked well and the sauce is pretty tasty, the rice can be a little soggy, but hey, it’s only a buck! Can’t complain bout that. There are only 4 parking spaces in front that they share with Kalihi BBQ. If its full, just do what I do, park at the pump, run in to get your snacks and«stuff», and piss off the other drivers waiting, wanting to put gas. Ha! Nah nah don’t do that. Have respect. Wait for a stall ;) Tip: see above paragraph and stop at «Ha!»

I go to this conveience store a lot for one thing. Mickey’s Ice 40oz beer. Apparently they have the cheapest one in the area. When you go inside the store it is very blah. Kinda reminds me of a gas station store the movies. The lighting is no right, empty, and boring. When I walk in, there is no life in that store. People who come to fill up their tank, they have a window that you can pay for gas so that you don’t have to go in. I personally don’t use their gas because I just don’t but if my gas station had a easy access to pay that would be helpful. DON’T BUYTHEICEE! Their icee doesn’t taste right. And if you do plan to buy one, you’ll have to pay first then fill your icee cup. The hot items they offer are fried chicken, musubi, hot dogs. You could also order fried chicken plate lunch if you wanted to. But the food choices aren’t anything to die for. Like I said in the beginning I come here for beer, particularyly Mickey’s Ice. If you like that kind and in the area, go to Fastop. It’s the cheapest. Otherwise, 7 – 11 is down the street and they have better icee(slurpee) and food items.
