It’s kind of trick location cuz the main entrance is back alley. But the food was good! I ordered marinated beef and soybean paste soup and it was good. I went this restaurant two times! The price is all right and the combo menu’s portion was great! Meat lover’s menu!

I wish I could say our adventurous spirit proved successful. Had we listened to a certain previous Unilocal review and believed them, we’d have saved ourselves a tripe and beef tongue horror story. Thankfully we checked out the bathroom before ordering more than drinks. How could a restroom be so filthy? We paid for the«chilled red wine» and left. What an experience… never to be relived, but definitely to be shared. We thoroughly enjoyed Katsu at the restaurant just outside of that dank back alley.

We went to Hawaii as a family reunion and this was the Worst korean food ever we had. They ruined everybody’s feeling there.
Do not recommend this restaurant. Big time rip off here with the worst quality and the portion! Just get one dollar burger!

I came over with my friends last just to explore through Waikiki and we came across this Korean restaurant and we decides to try it for once. We ordered marinated Kalbi, Bibimbam, inner part rib, and they gave us various side dishes with salad. The Kalbi was really and and it’s sauce was great. The price was reasonable and the boss gave us wonderful service. Definitely one of the best Korean restaurant ever! TRYIT!

I’m surprised to see that this restaurant has been opened for over 14 years! Who could imagine a hole-in-wall yakiniku could still be opened for that long. Loved their side dish salad, the custom dressing they put on the salad was amazing. I kept asking for another bowl! The entrée itself was somewhat decent. The menu was a little dirty, and had oil over it, but with a little clean up, you could hardly tell the difference. The Kalbi short rib was delicious! Also order their stone pot bibimbap, they put it on a stove, so the rice would cook along with the vegetables, making the rice crunchy! Other than that the service was super quick! Totally would recommend this place if your looking to eat at a Korean yakiniku!

Upon arrival to Waikiki, It was late and we happened across this little hole-in-the wall restaurant. This day(Saturay) they were having a special where everything was 50% off. This is a great deal. We tried the BBQ and did the grilling ourself. The food was prepared to perfection. We also tried the tofu soup which had a wonderful flavor. The wait staff was very attentive and took good care of us and was willing to do the grilling if we wanted.

I must be feeling adventurous when I decided to venture to Ginzawon with my traveling buddy in Honolulu. I guess I should have listened to Diana Y.‘s advice and stayed away from this place. But my traveling buddy was craving KBBQ, so I figure… Why not… It’s a hole in the wall down a dirty alley. I might as well give it a try. Yes, we were lured into Ginzawon for their $ 23.99 special. We figured… $ 23.99 for 9 items, not bad. But the sad truth is: They only give you 2 pieces of each item listed. Perhaps I am spoiled by the great Korean restaurant in California, but for the price they were charging(even after discount), it was ridiculously expensive. Waiters assumed that I was Japanese as soon as I walked into their store, I had to ask for English menu several times, but still couldn’t figure out what was on the special. I tried asking my waiter what’s the difference between the specials and he had the hardest time explaining it to me. Bleh. Take my advice. If you feel like getting BBQ, go hit Gyu-Kaku across the street during their happy hour. You will be eating in a cleaner restaurant with English speaking staff + you get much more for your value.

Pretty good late night food. Definate whole in the wall place,(meaning hard to find) but because it was so hidden we had very quick service. Food is pretty good too. First round of kirin beers on draft are only 99 cents!

This is the worst restaurant ever! Small, dirty, poor service, and bad food. We were tourists in Waikiki and were given a flyer. It was in back on an alley(should have walked away) in a small room. The menus were all in Japanese. We just ordered a BBQ set for two and the meat was super tough. They didn’t bring 3 items in the set and were mad when we asked for them. We couldn’t chew the meat so I asked for a small plate of Kimchi to eat my rice. Waited 20 minutes without any service. Owner then came and pointed to some sign on the wall in Japanese. Told me that it will cost me $ 4 for small plate of Kimchi. The unedible meal costed us over $ 50 for two people. It was like being robbed in a dirty crack shack. Crazy experience!
