Had to grab lunch while waiting on my car to be worked on at Midas. Glad I walked over! I had the Hurricane maki. It was great & the coffee bubble drink was yummy. Ended up ordering 2 more rolls to take home.

I’ve brought my mom here on several occasions due to the fact that she really enjoys the combo bowls and have recently added the jumbo shrimp Shumai. There has been a slight price increase here but hey, mom likes so I’ll be her here anytime she wants it. Right now we’re just chillin here in the shade with a very nice breeze blowing…

Food was good, but a little pricey for a small portion. They used small bowls as a serving… But all in all, I would rather go get some Popeyes Chicken across the street that will fill me up!

Ill give it 5 stars for several different reasons. Star # 1, Our cashier was about 13, very smart and well mannered. Which tells me this is a moms amd pops place. Keep up the good work sweetie :)(hope you dont get in trouble for this but you deserve it) 2, the restaurant was nice, tidy, and clean. Very nice and cool. A/c works 3, customers generally like it here. Very nice ladies talked to me and my friend 4, takeout time: about 10mins which means thank you for not wasting the time of your paying customers. 5, my friend had a volcano roll and I had a hurricane roll with fried potato shaving on top. I loved it to pieces. It was soooooo good we made jokes like«you know it was mama-san who made this. Its a HERRICANENOT A HIM-ACANE!» LOL! Thank you for such a great meal and a smile.

I come here often for the Man Doo Ramen and natto roll! Absolutely love it. Just the right portion, too. Service is quick & very polite. I work in the area & this is my #1 place to go. Lots of parking, and for a lunch break, I can get in & out of there in a half hour.

This little sushi place is right nextdoor to my fav thrift shop… So, yeah, not the best of neighborhoods. It’s covered in graffiti and definitely isn’t somewhere to go on a date. But the sushi is really good. We got the spicy ahi maki and the sushi temp maki. Both were delicious. I’m giving it three stars because of the graffiti and general lack of ambiance. But, if you’re getting your food to go… I suggest this place. :)

SPICYAHIPOKEBOWL is so Onolicious. They put a little dash of hawaiian salt that kind of pops in your mouth with each bite. The fish is so fresh and perfectly seasoned and the rice isn’t mushy either! Serving size is great for the price(they don’t hold back on the amount of poke)

This is my second time coming here. I ordered the California roll because it’s my favorite type of sushi. I really liked it. The nori was crunchy and not chewy like some sushi places. The wait wasn’t long and the person behind the counter was friendly. Three stars because the udon was a bit bland. I ordered the shrimp udon. The shrimp tempura was good and crunchy but the soup was really bland. But other than that, good experience. Love the environment and customer service.

I come here for the kitsune noodles. Its perfect after the beach. The three piece ikura is ono too. The prices went up a buck and some change on everything. I dont think the price justifes for the poke bowl too. Either the portion got smaller or my hands got bigger. This place is convenient since its on the way home. Parking is really tight here too.

Great little hole in the wall place. Don’t let the strip mall location throw you off. Cheap and tasty. Definitely going back

Don’t be fooled thinking this is your typical quick sushi joint. Oh no no… it’s not. The pictures appear to be the same like other $ 1-$ 2 hand roll places, but you will easily pay $ 3-$ 4 for a smaller, wimpier version. In my opinion, you usually can’t go wrong with spicy ahi rolls, but I guess I was wrong. The picture was a much more generous version of what I got and had a piece of cucumber(which is standard). The actual roll($ 2.89) — small with no cucumber and soggy chewy nori. It was frankly sad. Had the picture looked like that, at least I would have known what to expect. It was nothing like the picture. Conclusion, you don’t get what you expect and most definitely don’t get what you pay for here.

Delicious sushi for dinner, I love this place for reasonable priced temaki sushi. For $ 20.00 I can get enough food to feed 4 people. As for the customer service you won’t find it here, there was no «hello can I help you» or «thank you», this doesn’t bother me as long as they are not rude. I always grab a few temaki sushi for my California trips… easy and convenient.

I would give this business 4 stars, i come here every week to get my taro bubble drink and spicy ahi roll. The sushi is ok, not the best, but it satisfies. Best to come here when it’s not too busy, if there’s a line, i would suggest to go to another sushi spot because you could wait sometime to get your order done.

This is a hole in the wall in ghetto Dillingham Plaza but I really missed this place when I was living in Boston and I’m so glad I’m back home. It seems as though they went through a name change from Aloha Sushi to Honu Sushi and since I’ve been back I eat here at least once a week. Seating is limited but even when I have been here during the lunch hour rush, you can always find something as customers turn quickly. I’m addicted to their spicy ahi rolls($ 2.19 each) and can eat three of them easily for lunch on top of miso soup($ 0.99). My favorite Maki rolls are ranked as follows 1) Volcano 2) Hurricane 3) Tiger, all of which are around $ 7 and this is also my favorite place to get a Lychee bubble drink(only $ 3.69). Additionally my aunty uses this place to cater sushi platters for family events. There is a huge communication barrier here, I don’t think that anyone that has ever taken my order has said a full sentence to me however, sushi here is fresh, cheap and service is quick!

This small sushi joint in Dillingham Plaza was a pleasant surprise. The prices are reasonable: $ 7.25 for their specialty rolls, less for the standard rolls. My friend and I ordered the Hurricane Roll and Volcano roll and were pleased with both, but the Volcano Roll was the best. We were completely satisfied splitting two rolls and each having a miso soup. The only down-side was the somewhat slow service and reading the ridiculous graffiti on the wall – thanks, Farrington students. For $ 8 bucks each, this turned out to be a solid stand-by for quick and fresh sushi.

My co-workers and I eat here about once a week. A typical order for us usually consists of a spicy ahi bowl, spicy ahi maki, volcano maki and a tempura bowl. All are completely delicious and fresh, and keep us coming back. I recommend calling in your order ahead of time; they always have it ready.

The sushi here is really good. The tiger roll, which is spicy tuna with a piece of imitation crab, cucumber and avacado wrapped in the rice, is neatly put together and mouth watering. The tempura roll is also a winner. The udon is blah. Prices are very reasonable here. Enjoy!

For a restaurant that was taken over from Aloha Sushi, they’ve done a good job upkeeping their food and how they present the food. Some are innovative such as the Volcano and the Udon; the udon is very tasty and not oily. The Volcano is spicy yet enough flavor to really showcase the mildness of the rice, the spicy ahi, and the shrimp tempura. It’s a good meld of flavors that I normally order when I go there. A lot of my friends have recommended this place and I admit it was a good suggestion taken.

I believe this place took over from Aloha Sushi. They’re not big on service — took me two visits to coax a smile out of them, and wasabi has to be requested(shoyu is readily available from the service counter). The Dragon Roll had only trace amounts of eel in it and did not resemble the picture on display. The spicy ahi maki, on the other hand, was quite tasty and I would definitely order it again. The lychee bubble drink was also nice and arguably worth its $ 3.49 price tag. Overall verdict: 6.5 out of 10.
