Had high hopes for the kalbi and spicy chicken mixed plate. Shared it with a co worker and we both got sick within 20 min. We think it was the chicken. Place was empty… Maybe that was a sign?

«Its not my job to remind you to do your job» is what automatically pops up in my mind when I think about this Yummy’s location. Never place an order over the phone. My family and I use this location as an option for food when we tailgate before UH football games, if we’re too lazy to grill. Always expect to wait sometime to get your order or for your order to be «forgotten.» You may be asking, as to why I continue to go here, and it’s because the food is still good, I love their fish jun and banchan veggies(reason for 2 stars) and its 1 minute away from our house. If you accept the fact that nothing makes rational sense here, like having no customers at all and it being so slow, that the entire crew can sit and chat, then blame another employee for your order not being filled when you try to pick it up, you’ll be less frustated. I’ve never seen a supervisor or manager here, but if I were the owner, I’d have one at all times to remind the staff to do their jobs.

I have this proud addiction to meat jun, and I crave it almost always. Yummy’s never disappoints! I always order a regular lunch plate because it comes with 4 sides. I recommend the choy sum, chap chae, cold tofu and mayo potatoes!(I’m not kidding. It’s called mayo potatoes, and it’s such a guilty pleasure.) The choy sum and chop chae have refreshing hints of sesame oil that pairs well with savory meats — especially meat jun and the hot sauce you eat with it. The cold tofu is served with a shoyu based sauce. And of course, mayo + garlic fried potatoes = what more could you want in a side dish? Aside from meat jun, I’ve had the BBQ chicken, fried mandoo, and bi bim bap. They also offer brown rice for an extra fee! 3 stars because the dining room was dirty. Plenty tables had trash and spilled food underneath. It made my experience less enjoyable.

Veggie plate review! Since I was in the neighborhood around lunch time, I thought a veggie plate would fit the bill. It worked out pretty nicely I’d say. The vegetable plate is $ 8.99; it comes with 4 choices of sides and rice. You can opt for no rice and choose an extra side. $ 8.99 sounded kinda steep to me, but as the lady scooped up the veggies, it turned into a massive plate of food! I chose shoyu tofu, seaweed, bean sprouts, broccoli and cucumber kimchee. They also had shoyu potato, noodles, choi sum, kimchee and a few other items. The veggies were not overly salty like other restaurants, which was nice, but they weren’t that exciting either. The cucumber kimchee was made with english cucumbers that just didn’t have the satisfying crunch of a japanese cucumber. The bean sprouts and tofu were bland. I did enjoy the broccoli, nice and crunchy, lightly flavored with sesame. And the seawood was good.

One of my favorite fast foods. I pretty much get 2 of the 3 everytime. Meat Jun BBQ chix Kalibi You then get sides, I stick with shoyu potato, long rice and kimchi cucumber. It’s fast food so don’t expect too much but I’m a fan!

Well for starters, this yummy’s doesn’t carry the shoyu potatoes anymore… So that sucks. However, that’s not why I’m giving them one star. They earned this rating by making me completely disgusted and uncomfortable. We walked in to see the cashier mopping behind the counter, then handle someone else’s food, take our order and handle our cash, then proceed to handle our food. At no time between any of this did she put on gloves or wash her hands. But oh, it’s okay, because she was sure her hands were clean! I’m actually writing this review while waiting for my food as she stares at me from behind the counter. I don’t think I’ll be coming to this location ever again… Creepy. Disgusting. Just no.

This place is very affordable and give you a huge portion. I ordered a mini plate for myself but you can share with someone else. The chicken BBQ was tender and juicy. Macaroni salad was good too. The only thing i didn’t like was their chapchae… way too sweet. Close to the airport so it is a great meal to have before your flight!

So the Korean barbeque meat wasn’t the 3 slabs of rib eye I am accustomed to and in fact I was shocked when I got a muddle puddle of gristle, chopped meat, in the saltiest marinade on top of my rice. Man, has the quality control sunk to a low at this place. If you don’t believe me, check out the photo I took. Bachi me. I took it before eating it to show what a mess of meat looks like. Nowhere near their picture of 3 pristine rib slices. It looked like a pile of dog shit. Go check the photo and come back. It gets worse. I suspected that the meat may have been a tad old since it must have been sitting in that marinade for days, being hackingly salty. The kimchee had no other flavor than vinegar and sugar. Folks, it’s not namasu OK? It needs chili pepper and salt too. The cucumbers were downright awful. The kimchee needed salt… ironically. It filled my stinking, greedy stomach and three hours later I hit that porcelain bowl. It was the worst food poisoning, along with the gas, bloating, pain and misery of 9 or 10 messy episodes. I was fucking sick. Never again to this Yummy’s. I may try the Kaheka and the other Yummy’s at Kam shopping center but not ever, ever, EVER this place near Saver’s on Dillingham. In fact, the Kam Shopping Center Yummy’s is excellent. Their meat is wonderful. If anyone else got sick from eating this food last week and reads this, call your doctor and the State Health Department. Even I’ll admit that it takes more than one ill person to make a food poisoning case. But fuckit, that was the only thing I had eaten all day. And within 12 hours, it was all sewage.

I had the mini Bar-B-Q Chicken and am so thankful I went there. I’ve always loved Yummy’s Bar-B-Q and this was a great visit again. Their service was quick and the food is consistently awesome here. Lots of parking in the lot in front and a little on the smaller side of a dining room. I’m often in the area for work and will definitely be back in the near future.

Portions are great! A little pricey but the portions make up the difference. Very good customer service. Only downside is no restroom.

After my boyfriend picked me up from work we knew wanted Korean food. So instead of going to our usual places we came here. A quick short drive from my office. Service is always good. Place is clean. the food is good and yummy. but note to self… next time order the mini plate :) I will definitely return here again.

I love Yummy’s, but this certain restaurant I did not love. My boyfriend and I ordered a regular BBQ Chicken with sides. When we ordered, I noticed that the entire restaurant was quiet. No one in the back(chef) was cooking anything, we waited for 10 minutes. I did no hear or see or smell any smoke coming from the kitchen. Nothing. No sizzling of my chicken. I thought that was odd, but I thought nothing of it. When we finally get home(we live 5 minutes away) and ate our plate, I was surprised. The chicken was cold and extremely dry, like it had been sitting there for hours(then I realized why, when I thought about the odd kitchen experience I talked about earlier). Ugh. Then I tried my sides, the long rice was warm, not cold like it usually is at most Yummy’s restaurants and the mac salad tasted sour. There was no taste in ANY of the items(except for the sourness of the mac salad). I was so mad, that was the worst Yummy’s plate lunch I ever had in my life. Never going back to this Yummy’s again.

Good quick Korean bbq. The marinade really seeped into the meat which made it really flavorful. Portions were generous but I can’t rave about that too much because we paid $ 23 for 2 combos and 2 small drinks. My only complaint is that I thought their kimchi was pretty bland.

Normally, I wouldn’t consider writing a review about Yummy Korean BBQ. The majority of Yummy’s are decent, but nothing to write home about. However, the Yummy Korean BBQ on Dillingham BLVD is really good. Their prices seem to be slightly higher than others, but what they offered was so much better. This location was very clean, their panchan was extremely fresh & well seasoned. Also, their portions were huge; I had enough for lunch the next day. If you are in the area and want a quick Korean Plate then by all means check out this Yummy’s. I think you will be surprised. yum… 3& ½ stars…
