Major points for being a conveniently placed hit-and-run for superb hulihuli chicken. Ask for extra sauce. And order the whole chicken. I promise you’ll be able to finish it. It looks really ghetto what with it being in the middle of an industrial park with smoke billowing everywhere from the grill and an auto audio garage for a backdrop. But their chicken is seriously onolicious. And it has saved me many a time on the road when I’ve been too busy to stop anywhere else. Definitely a meaty juicy drippinggood alternative to any fast food. And they recently started offering pickles! yes!

If you are wanting to eat huli huli chicken and don’t want to go all the way in North Shore, there is this truck along nimitz HIghway that is parked there and open on the week-end. Just follow the smoke and you’ll find it. The chicken here was not as good as I remembered from the one I had in the North shore, but comparable enough. We all wanted to eat huli huli chicken(at least once during this trip and didn’t want to go all the way to North Shore). That superbowl morning we were in Waikiki, Andrea goggled Huli huli in her blackberry and we found this truck which was close enough to our hotel. We bought a couple of chicken and grilled shrimps and brought it back to our suite at HGVC to be eaten during the game. Like I said, I remembered the chicken we ate in North Shore was certainly better, but this was good enough and satisfied our craving.

Legendary chicken did not disappoint! The rotisserie method of cooking outside by the road seems to work magic on the chicken. Get there as early as you can because if they run out, they close! Definitely worth the stop if you are in the North Shore.
