Received a really message of apology from the owner. Not many owners take the time to personally respond to a less than favorable review. I’m a supporter of local business so I will give this business another chance in the future. Aloha

We came in and spoke with Rachel and Dylan and they helped us pick out an all foam queen futon and even offered free delivery for Labor Day weekend. They also threw in a couple non-​skid pads for our wooden futon frame. Looking forward to offering our house guests a very comfey bed!

I went in on a Tuesday mid-​morning to check out the loft bed that was advertised since they were trying to get rid of a special request a previous customer had ordered. I talked with Rachel M. and she explained the situation along with all the different futons they have (total of 9 different varieties/​thicknesses). Rachel was very informative and explained quite a bit about them.
I was going to buy a futon anyway because my old one was all boro-​boro (in shambles) so it was a given. The loft bed was another objective I had in mind but was actually going to go down the street to Discount Furniture Warehouse (further down Nimitz). So, I left Island Futons thinking I was going to come back anyway. Well, the guys at DFW were okay, but the order was going to take 8 weeks more because they didn’t have the color I wanted nor the options (desktop). So, I called Rachel back and she took off another few bucks of the current inventory she had and so I went back to IFF.
The check out process was quick and Rachel even helped me load my truck since I was all ready to take them today.
I am definitely going back to IFF because of Rachel and her excellent service. I would recommend IFF in a heartbeat and didn’t feel pressured or rushed or put aside like the other places (which I’ve been to yesterday all day… went to a total of 6 different furniture stores from Kaimuki to Pearlridge).

I happened upon this gem of a shop while I was stuck in traffic on Nimitz one day, and I’m glad I did. The sales lady was amazing and able to answer all of my questions. She ordered the one I chose and the delivery service was great, he was a gentleman and very polite.
What makes me the happiest about this purchase is that shortly after the purchase of the futon we had a long term house guest and the futon is very comfortable.

I got my futon delivered today and I am very happy with both the futon and the service I have received. I knew which frame I wanted right away, but waffled between several mattress options when I was ordering. I sat on every single mattress in the store several times for an hour and chose the level 2 (I think). The saleslady was awesome and let me do my thing. I knew off the bat that the futon would take a while to be freighted to hawaii and delivered to me, so I was fine with that. She pretty much nailed the delivery date spot on when I was ordering. The delivery man showed up on time, was friendly, and removed his shoes so as not to get my carpet dirty. He set up the whole thing by himself and called me ma’am every time he spoke to me. I can and do wholeheartedly recommend him. My husband really likes the futon and I do too. The futon has a 5 year warranty as well.
I do think the prices for the covers are too high. I found a nice linen cover in the store and it was $ 200. I’m used to $ 50 covers from target or walmart, so I decided to look online for the cover that I had liked. I found it for half the price.
All in all a great experience. I would definitely do business with them again.

This is an update to my previous review. They lost a star because our order arrived waaay late! It was supposed to arrive in the latter half of November, but before Thanksgiving (we placed the order in September), but didn’t show up until 3 weeks after Thanksgiving.

Rachael is awesome! We needed a futon for long term sleep arrangement and she gave us her honest opinion! We had dimensions in hand and a general idea of what we wanted in a futon when we walked in to Island Futons. She gave us ‘personal space’ but answered ALL of our questions. She is one of the most professional people I have encountered since coming to Oahu. Price was reasonable. Delivery was exactly as arranged and set up was very quick. Instructions for beginners was very clear, with explanation of warranty a plus. The fact that the bedding is made in USA also a plus.
