Was scheduled for an Independent Medical Examination for a worker’s compensation claim with Dr. Kaneshiro. He wouldn’t allow me to bring a witness in the room so I walked out. This policy was not communicated in advance.
Bad form, Dr. Kaneshiro. If you’re going to be «independent» and «impartial», you should not have a problem with a witness coming in to observe the examination. I question his ethics.
Also, being a female patient, it is not comfortable to be in a closed room alone with a male, and I should never be forced to do that.

I have seen Dr. Kaneshiro several times over the years for surfing injuries in my shoulder to volleyball injuries in my calf to car accidents. He is very good, patient, explains the details and he is NOT a surgery pusher, but encourages you to heal naturally.
