KFC

KFC is the only fast food chain I know of which has NOT gotten more agressive on its pricing since the resession started. (My personal overall favorite: Taco Bell) KFC tends to charge noticibly higher $$ than all the rest and staff at this location even had the nerve to approach me and tell me AFTER I’d ordered food and AFTER I’d sat down, setup my laptop and plugged it into their wall power outlet that «We dont allow laptop users to plug in since this drives up the electric bill». WTF?! Why not put up a sign? I pointed out that they REALLY ought to put up signs to this effect. And that, if I’d known this, I would have gone to some other eatery which DOES allow plugging-​in rather than this KFC. And that, since I’m already here and already bought my lunch, can I please plug-​in just this once since I have work to do on my laptop that’s gotta get done but my battery’s almost dead. To which I got a terse «NO». If this wasnt enough, a worker at the McCully KFC basically tricked me into taking a Large mash at the higher price when all I’d wanted was a Small. Not nearly as big of a deal as at the Keeaumoku KFC, but pretty distasteful, still.

OMG! This was a comedy experience. I walked into the Kentucky Fried Chicken at Kings Alley. The guy behind the counter was texting someone. I said «Hi» he didn’t look up but said, «hello» he continued to text. I said, «I’ll have 3-​pieces of chicken» then, without looking up he yelled, «3 piece chicken.» I heard a voice in the back say, «what?» He yelled back, «3 piece chicken!» He finally looked looked up kind of like exasperated, and said to me «gee, can’t she hear, or what?» The voice in the back said, «what?» again. He finally put his phone in his pocket, and at the same time yelled again, «I said, three pieces of chicken». I didn’t wait long. I finally got my order but the chicken was dried up and tough. I threw it away and I’ll never go back to that KFC.

There’s nothing like a little Kentucky Fried Chicken right in Hawaii. Who would’ve thought? This place has been in Hawaii forever though, ever since I could remember. Always consistent, I’ve never had bad chicken at KFC. Their sides are also great, especially their mash potatoes and gravy. You can’t go wrong with coleslaw, corn, or biscuits too.
My most recent visit included me buying a 20 piece bucket of original recipe chicken plus a combo meal for myself. The bucket was for everyone to share. The combo meal was for me because I was hungry!
Drive thru was the most efficient way to go since no one was in drive thru, but there were a number of people in the restaurant. 5 minutes later and I was on my way!
Customer service is always friendly at this location and since they have their own parking lot, they almost always have parking. A place to go if you like chicken!
