I have been going to Luanne monthly for several years. The massage & facial is a bargain for what you get. I’m usually there for 2.5 to 3 hrs. Luanne is always very thorough and doesn’t rush the spa treatments. I appreciate her attention to detail as she is always trying to make improvements so that the experience is relaxing and enjoyable. Over the years she has tried different things including adding memory foam padding to the massage table. It is amazingly comfortable… I pass out halfway during massage every time. I have had facials at many spas and due to sensitive skin, I tend to breakout every time. Thus, I’ve avoided facials for years. However, Luanne customizes the facial and always assesses my skin and what’s going on before starting and adjusts the treatment and keeps track of what she does for future appts. My skin has actually improved since starting with her (as I did have acne requiring dermatologist follow up when I first started seeing Luanne). As others have mentioned parking can be an issue some of the time, but never to the point where I can’t park or am late to my appt. If you want a consistent experience this is the place to go.

I’ve put off getting facials for so long it’s embarrassing. But when I had my first facial with Luanne I became committed to getting facials for life! With one condition: Luann does them. There are no words to describe the experience of getting a facial by Luann, but here are a few… Relaxing…Calming…Exquisite…Professiona­l…Friendly…Experienced…Excellent…I could go on and on. I don’t want to give away the whole experience. You have to experience it for yourself. But going to Luann on a regular basis has made my skin clearer, brighter and softer. It’s one of the best things I can do for myself when it comes to self care. Thanks Luann!

I was complaining about my aging skin to my sugaring professional at Nohea. She recommended Lotus Day Spa for microdermabrasion. Not only did I receive microdermabrasion, but Luanne’s package included a facial AND foot scrub. I felt like a queen! Being a «virgin» to this service, I was a bit nervous. Luanne carefully and methodically explained the «why» and «what» of each step. I was comforted by her professionalism and grace. After only 2 weeks, I noticed the typical redness and dryness of my skin substantially reduce. She recommends a treatment every 4 weeks, but I am going back today, after 3 weeks, because I want more!

My first time at Lotus Day Spa was beyond superb. My first time getting a facial and I loved it. I’ve been going to Luanne for a year now and I just can’t get enough. Absolutely, love the place and highly recommend it. Price is very affordable. Other spas charge a fortune. I’m going to miss this place, I wish I could bring her over to Colorado so I could have facials every other week.

First time in getting a micro dermaabrasion treatment. Luanne was very informative and suggested methods in keeping a clearer, healthy face, made me feel quite relaxed. I’d say that much like the other reviews here, she was gentle and has quite the soft touch. Looking forward to my next appointment.

Luanne gave me an amazing facial today. Being an esthetician, I know a few few things about skincare, and have had many facials and massages. Luanne excels at both. The first thing I noticed was her soft touch; it felt as if her hands were barely touching my face. It was very soothing. The products she put on my face smelled wonderful. After a consultation and examination, Luanne came up with a treatment customized for my face. I loved the massage. I was pleased that Luanne asked me what type of pressure I wanted.
I was most impressed with the results of the process. My friend complimented my skin the very next day. I think it was because of the microdermabrasion treatment; it removed all the dead skin. Luanne also recommended products customized for my face, but didn’t pressure me into buying anything.
The massage was particularly relaxing. My neck felt better that night, and I slept great. I highly recommend Luanne for a wonderful experience.

Luanne’s facial and massage are absolutely amazing! This woman really knows her stuff, and is super educated when it comes to skincare. I went in not knowing what I needed, but told her I had a few issues with dryness. She suggested we do microdermabrasion, and a hydrating facial which also comes with a massage. I loved that she actually assessed my skin before starting and told me what she was doing every step of the way. Both the facial and massage were extremely relaxing. She uses lavender oil in the hot towels which is heavenly! When the treatment was finished she allowed me to wake up slowly and gave me water. Her microdermabrasion and facial left me with baby soft skin and no blemishes! I can not be happier with the results. Needless to say I will definitely be back! Thanx again Luanne!

Prior to seeing Luanne my face had some pretty bad acne, clogged pores, scars and hyper pigmentation. My skin was just a «hot mess». I felt so frustrated as I tried countless acne washes, creams, whitening creams and what not. I finally decided to check out Luanne (my hair stylist recommended her) and I have been seeing her for about a year (or less?) now. She has been a lifesaver to my skin. My acne has cleared up, clogged pores GONE and pigmentation is very little to NONE. I don’t feel so self conscious about my skin and wear a ton of make up to cover up anymore. Her prices are soooooo very reasonable and don’t break my bank account when I see her. You get 90 minutes of pure «heaven» which includes a foot and shoulder/​neck/​upper back massage! I just had my microdermabrasion yesterday and my skin LITERRLLY feels like «baby’s butt cheeks»… Sooo soft and clean!

Luanne is so fantastic at what she does. She is an incredibly skilled massage therapist and esthetician, and I never feel like I am being rushed through a session. I always leave with clean pores and a relaxed outlook. The price is INCREDIBLE for what you get– no details are overlooked. I highly recommend this place and will continue coming back.

Saw a promotional sign posted at Nohea Salon (where I get my sugar wax) for a microderm abrasion PLUS a neck, shoulder, AND foot massage! Total pamper package! I couldn’t pass up on this offer! I’ve never had a microderm abrasion before so I was even more anxious to try it. Left a message for Luanne and she promptly returned my call. I was able to get an immediate appointment.
After I completed my skin survey and discussed my skin issues with Luanne, we began the session.
The microderm went AH-​MAZING!!! Luanne made it comfortable and easy. What I really appreciated was she communicated to me on what she was doing every step of the way and provided a lot of skin education. The massage was the icing on the cake! I dozed off a couple of times and probably snored, too (sorry Luanne!). I was given lots of Dermalogica samples but was never pushed to purchase them. Luanne is sweet, nurturing, and has a wonderful aura about her which speaks through her work. I can’t wait for my next session!
*The only thing that might be an issue is the parking. It’s a small lot with quite a bit of business, so arrive early just in case!

This was such a treat with a full body massage and facial! Luanne did a wonderful job treating my oily/​acne skin. She gave great skin advice and did not try to push on products or services.
Her facial was just like other fancy places I’ve been to but at much lower cost and she added on treatments without nickel & diming me. The massage was relaxing, but for a big girl like me, I think I need to stick with the Thai/​Shiatsu style that involves more stretching and targeting trigger spots to release my tension.
Her place was clean, well kept, and relaxing with the cool ac. Parking was fairly easy to find. There are no elevators so you will have to walk up to the 3^rd floor. Well worth the stairs!
With her affordable prices and convenient location I look forward to seeing her on a consistent basis!

Took my mom there and Luanne was so gentle working on her because my mom is 89 years old. The atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable. Very clean. She tells you where you are tight in the muscles and gave recommendations. Would highly recommend anyone going to her and her prices are very reasonable for the amount of time she works on you.

I love going to Lotus Day Spa! Best facials and massages. My appointments are always on time and Luanne is the prefect mix of professional and kind mannered.

SUBJECTIVE EXPERIENCE
If everyone’s gonna be flocking here, then they can take my place. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but neither was it a spectacular one, or even a good enough one that I’d love to return and give her more business.
Luanne was cordial and listened to my needs. At first, I had requested a more harder massage (shiatsu), so she did it for the first 2/​3rds of the way … then, I requested a more relaxing one, and she finished up the rest of the massage with a more Swedish-​style. Neither felt like they really invigorated my muscles or relaxed me … it may have been a combo of her massage and my mood/​body, but I usually enjoy either style. I’ve gotten lomi lomi massages and Swedish ones and have enjoyed both, but neither did me in.
The facial went good; she provides light extractions, as needed. She did the whole process of cleansing, steaming, exfoliation, moisturizing, etc. Luanne also noticed that I probably touch my chin with my hands choke (a lot) because of the increased number of blackheads she extracted from my chin.
BIZ LOCATION
Located on 3^rd floor of Nu’uanu Square building on corner of S. Vineyard & Nu’uanue Ave. Same place that has Papa John’s at the bottom and within close proximity to Pali Longs and Safeway.
PARKING
Private parking lot that has tandem stalls. It’s a major clusterfuck, so try to get some of the metered street parking or «borrow» a stall from Safeway/​Longs nearby and walk over. Better yet, just have someone drop you off if you live nearby.

She has one of those mobile-​phone cash registers akin to Square, so she can charge your credit card on the spot.
OFFICE /​FACILITIES
Her office and facial/​massage room are neat, clean, and decorated so that you feel as if you’re in a Buddhist monastery (think simple and relaxing with a water fountain in the background).
OVERALL …
Worth a try. Luanne is one of the reasonably-​priced spas offering this combo in town. Her biz is located on the outskirts of Chinatown and downtown. She only advertises via word-​of-​mouth and her website and told me she has a loyal clientele who’s followed her from her masseuse days (prior to learning to become an aesthetician). Maybe just try her massage since it appears to her stronger side of the two.

Ok, I was wondering if I should even give a review for this since I’m a little afraid that everyone will be flocking there and I won’t be able to get future appointments :) I’ve been to many massage places, but this one is just the BEST for the PRICE! I’ve gone there in pain and she really can work out the kinks and tightness! She worked on all my trouble spots and what I loved most is her massage services start from 90 minutes. So you will really feel pampered in a generous amount of time. The room is calm and relaxing, with the lights dimmed to perfection, topped off with soothing music for your soul! When you pay at the end, you leave feeling like the greatest winner in the world! I truly don’t need «big name» spas, I’m receiving a 5 star service without the big name price.
