My mom and I both see Claire for eyebrows and facials. Finding a good esthetician for eyebrows can be a challenge and a serious bummer if someone doesn’t do a good job. Claire makes sure she understands what look you’re going for (full, thick, thin, etc.) and makes sure she knows what you’re comfortable with (areas to wax versus pluck). I have really sensitive skin so I’m always hesitant with wax but I do not react to this wax at all. It’s quick and painless. Claire also uses and anti-​inflammatory spray which helps reduce redness and any swelling. Lastly, the facials are the best! Claire is very gentle and soothing and respects your decision to talk or make it a quiet, relaxing environment. She gives you a choice of aromas so every scent is enjoyable. She takes her time for every appointment and she is very knowledgeable about skin and skin care so I always trust her judgement. I can’t wait for my next visit with her!

This is not a good place for a men’s haircut.
I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment and waited about half an hour before I was taken in for my cut. No big deal. It was a Saturday afternoon and I was not in a rush to go anywhere.
The entire time the stylist was cutting, she kept pointing out the obvious and saying, «your hair is so thick!» I am Polynesian and I know better than anyone else that I have thick locks. More lines followed, «Your hair grows in all directions,» and «this is a lot of hair!»
As she kept cutting, I got more uncomfortable. You kind of just know when your haircut is going bad. Like other bad cuts I’ve experienced, I reminded myself that hair does grow back.
All in all, it wasn’t the WORST haircut I’ve had but it sure wasn’t the greatest. There are some spots where hair stick out and unevenness.
Two stars for keeping the place clean (there are workers who sweep constantly) and ease of booking a same-​day appointment.
Sorry, Marsha. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

If you have curly hair, I highly recommend Marsha Nadalin to style your hair. She has a good eye, and she knows how to cut curly hair. She also knows how to deal with the dryness that often goes hand in hand with curly hair. I had a color, highlight, and cut by her. It wasn’t cheap, but it was worth it because I now love my hair instead of being constantly frustrated by it. I’ve had haircuts all over town and been disappointed. Many stylists here are used to cutting straight hair, even at the high-​end places, and those cuts just make my hair frizzy and shapeless. I was so exhausted from trying to get a good experience I didn’t even give instructions. I’m glad I didn’t. She just knew what to do from color to products to cut. Then she told me how to maintain it, and her instructions were simple and they work! Her assistants are excellent, and the extras (head and hand massage) are relaxing. The whole atmosphere is peaceful, not jarring. It’s like a day at the spa except that you get a quality hair re-​do. True talent is always a cut above.

Took my little sister here this past weekend for a prom updo. We checked in 15 mins early so we sat and waited and after 5 mins were welcomed by Jillian her hairstylist. She took us to the chair and we showed her ideas of updos we liked, and she started to style. Every step of the way she explained what she was doing. We were in and out in 45 mins and beyond pleased with the hair! My sisters updo looked amazing! Thank you so much Jillian. I recommend her to anyone needing any type of hair styling!

I just had my hair cut done here with Star my best new stylist! I love her! She makes sure to give you the haircut you want and more! She is so friendly and her rate is awesome! Thank you Star for making me look fabulous! Mwah!!!

I have been going to this salon for over five years and have always been very happy with the cuts. However, Marsha, Mie and Way have all cancelled my appointments on short notice after I had waited a long time for them and counted on getting my hair cut. Each time I felt that the stylist could have known well in advance that she would not be available to keep her appointment with me. My schedule is not flexible and re-​scheduling is difficult.

The service is absolutely perfect, they’re very genuine and try to make you feel fabulous. How ever, this is my second attempt to get a regular blow dry here and I come out looking like a poodle. The actual work/​skill isn’t good sadly the salon is awesome except their actual service could use some more experience or practice. You don’t want to pay to look like a poodle… I think they need more training & practice.

My daughter had her hair done for an event and we arrived 15 minutes late (thanks, Hawaii traffic!) so, understandably, the stylist only had a short amount of time to get her hair done but she did a fabulous job anyway and my daughter looked gorgeous in an upsweep with flowers pinned perfectly into her hair. The style kept its look all day and night long from 10 am until 11 pm so I’d call it a success! I like the convenient location in Kahala Mall across Panda Express and their selection on OPI nail polish was beautiful!

I am very picky when it comes to who cuts my hair. Whenever I have gone in for a trim here in Hawaii the stylists tend to take off 5 – 6 inches — I have never had this problem on the mainland!
So, it’s been six months since my last trim and with my trusty stylish residing in Washington I went down to Marsha Nadalin in Kahala Mall. Trisha had me in and out in 45 minutes with a great trim and beautiful long side swept bangs. My hair doesn’t seem shorter at all — just perfectly long and healthy.
I was so happy with my experience there I even started writing this review while in line to pay my check!

Star did my color this week and I can honestly say it’s the happiest I’ve been in a very long time with full highlights in Hawaii. We talked ahead of time to determine the shade we’d highlight, more cool tones with a hint of warm, and chunkier so they’d grow out better. Her prices are affordable. She’s very understanding, especially since I have awful vertigo and had to pause a few times during the service. Star also works quickly which is amazing since full highlights can take 4 hours, this only took about 2.5 hours. I really like that she had swatch samples so we were on the same page with coloring since «honey» can be interpreted a few ways based on your opinion. So by choosing swatch colors in person it prevents any disparity.
The only downside was during booking I said I didn’t want to pay the $ 40 for blow dry and styling after coloring in order to save money, but they did it anyways and charged me. After calling post-​appointment to let them know I was disappointed, the manager called me back the same day and apologized for the misunderstanding and gave me a credit. That is truly 5 star service, and I know I’ll continue to go back to these girls and this salon.
Also, they have a great range of products and the girls help pick the best ones. I originally was unhappy with the shampoo & conditioner I bought and they do a full return to exchange it to a different, better product.
Book early because they’re super busy. I definitely recommend these two women!

I had been hair stylist hopping since my last two stylists left the hair biz to pursue other endeavors. I’m Asian with blonde hair so you can imagine the upkeep on that. I have always had issues with my ashy blonde turning to a brassy orange, until I started going to Sarah at Marsha Nadalin. I’m not sure what she does, but my hair stays put now! I had really long hair when I started going to her, but have since chopped most of it off. She was able to mimic pictures of the cut that I showed her. She always does an amazing job; I always get compliments on the color and cut of my hair! Oh and another thing, the seats at the washing station are very comfortable. That’s always a plus!

I had written a review prior to this about how horrible of an experience I had, and mentioned that I would rewrite my review if the situation was rectified because that’s what really matters. I have to say Marsha Nadalin & her staff more than rectified the situation. The way they handled my situation is why they have such a great reputation; I now understand it. They went above and beyond and were able to completely turn around my initial opinion. I had been to them a couple times prior to my bad experience, so I was please enough to return, but the last experience I had prior to this one was the worst salon experience I have ever had; I have had quite a fee of them. So for them to turn me back into a happy customer says a lot. I think they handled the situation as best as one could imagine or hope for. Thank you to Katie, Marsha, and Marsha’s wonderful assistant! You have now made me a customer for life.

FIVE STARS FOR WEDDING HAIR!!! Marsha and Nikki did an amazing job with hair for my wedding. I had a large group– me (the bride), 5 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, MOB and my soon to be mother in law! Everyone’s hair came out flawless and exactly how I pictured it to look. They also did everyone in a timely manner.
Nikki was so sweet and helped calm my nerves pre-​wedding by making me laugh and telling stories. She created a wonderful stress free environment that made me relax and feel beautiful.
Marsha did an amazing up-​do on my now mother in-law’s hair, everyone was blown away by how beautiful she looked.

Jilian did a beautiful job with my wedding hair. She did exactly what I pictured and in a time crunch. She even let myself and my bridal party change into our gowns in the back room. If you are looking for a very high quality stylist and salon, you will find it here!

Maria is amazing!!! She fixed my botched haircut which I made the highest mistake of getting at Supercuts. She knew exactly what I wanted and my hair looks great! I think she’s now my regular stylist!

It’s 9:44 am and they just called to cancel my 10 am haircut appointment! This is the second time in a row they have done this, and MULTIPLE times before that (not in a row). Don’t rely on them if your appointment is important to you!

Once again Emma nailed it. Got my hair cut by her for the first time and I am beyond happy. Not only did she listen to what I wanted but delivered. I recommend her 1000%. Joy!

I have been coming to Marsha Nadlin Salon & Spa since the beginning of my existence. It is a beautiful salon that is situated in Kahala Mall. It is on the North Side of the mall near Panda Express and Taco Bell. They used to be in the location facing them, but moved to their current space a few years back.
The Salon had a black décor that is very modern. They have many chairs and also offer services like massages, spa services etc. They are a full service salon.
Marsha has cut my hair since I began going here. She had to cut my hair while I fell asleep in her chair as a toddler, when I only wanted a bowl cut (it was in style) to now at the age of 26. She has been nothing but great.
I have also seen a few different hair stylists over the years whenever Marsha was out of town etc. Today for example I saw Deanne, who actually came with Marsha to this location. She is great and I have also known here since the beginning. She is so personable and friendly. Not to mention that great work that she does!
This salon is not only convenient but the best. I have had two friends now start coming here because they told me specifically «you can’t get a better cut for the price in Hawaii.» If you want to have a great cut and not be disappointed than make your way here!

Got a gift card for this salon, and I thought sure why not, went there for a hair cut, got the picture in every angle and everything, and I got a short bangs that is crooked and the way she cut doesn’t seemed like she has the techniques. Not only that, I also felt rushed. Not a fan at all and won’t be coming back, Even if I get another gift card.

The goods: Its all about being pampered and feeling great. Various services available especially for cutting and styling for special events. They treat hair specifically for what it needs to be healthy.
The bads: It is now very popular (and for a good reason) so it gets crowded from time to time and can feel a little overwhelming.
I’ve been going to Mie for years and she is amazing she knows how to deal with my hair and cut it so that it shapes well. She also has assistants training so I have seen a majority but it’s always fun

Today I went to Marsha Nadalin for a haircut, which I needed desperately for a while now! I called at 9 and got an appointment for 1 with Emma. I came early and was shown to a comfortable waiting area, and about 10 minutes before 1, I was greeted by Emma with a smile and a handshake. I got a scalp massage, shampoo, and cut for less than $ 50– a great price and I love my cut!
Emma and I talked extensively before my cut about what I wanted, and she was honest with what we would be able to do with my length. Even though I wasn’t able to do exactly what I wanted, she assured me when my hair was longer it would be possible and we settled on a cut that was somewhere close to what I wanted for my length.
The cut didn’t take long at all but came out really good, she was super friendly and she made sure I was happy with my cut at the end. When I left she gave me her card and a hug.
Overall, a really great experience and value– I would definitely come again. Emma is super awesome!

She’s a friendly and competent chick. She will take the time to make sure everything is clean, trimmed and taken care of.
She’s also so cute when she hugs you goodbye :)

The receptionist was too busy talking on the phone about her sister and sister-​in-​law to acknowledge me. A stylist looked up from her cell to see me standing there, then decided to go back to her social media. I’ll take my money elsewhere!

When you need to get waxed… make sure to book an appointment with KERI.
ESPECIALLY if you need an eyebrow wax! She is aaaaaaaamazing! I love the way she takes her time to trim & shape them. Eyebrows are very important, and she def cares for mine every single time. I feel beautiful after I see her, and you will too!

Great place for waxing services. I haven’t used them for anything else, but in just observing, I see nice work being done. Salon is well located within Kahala Mall, affordable and clean.

I have Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian DNA coursing through my veins. When I travel to Europe, I’m bombarded with «Konnichi wa“s. But when I’m in Asia, they look at me and think I’m White. The same genetic conflict applies to my hair.
My tresses are naturally super dark brown and wavy from my Oriental side, but thinner and more abundant due to my Russian ancestry. Since I was 11, I was told by numerous hairstylists that I could never have straight or lightened hair. If I asked about it, I was immediately persuaded otherwise. And with my super fair skin, my Einstein morning hair made me look like a sequel extra from The Ring.

I first came to MN Salon & Spa about ten years ago and met the fabulous Mie. I expressed my gripes and failed relationships with my stylists and she confusingly shook her head saying that it could all be done. And pretty easily. Not only did she make my hair manageable, but she gave me confidence in what I thought my hair could never do!
Mie is amazing, extremely professional, and is the educational director for the up-​n-​coming stylists. A few years later, she referred me to her counterpart Trisha whom I still go to today every six weeks. Both ladies do phenomenal work and also style my mom’s and coworker’s hair as well. Trisha just got back from a much deserved maternity leave and I would not see anyone else besides her.
Prices are moderate in the upper salon range of $ 55 – 80 for a haircut, color from $ 60, and full highlights from $ 110 but WELL WORTH IT. Their customer service is outstanding and I am never left feeling dissatisfied. They have complimentary water, tea, coffee and cookies that you can help yourself to by the bathrooms.
Every quarter to semi annual period, they partake in 20% off sidewalk sales on products and tools. That’s the best time to grab serums, shampoos/​conditioners, or that über expensive straightening iron you’ve been jonesing about the last year.
