I came here after picking up some dried tako at Ono Seafood. It’s located in the dirt parking lot, which appears to be a new food truck haven. What drew me in was the promise of homemade saimin noodles and dashi. From the outside, it’s not one of the most attractive looking trucks on the road. But I figured I’d take a chance on getting a simple saimin. I’m definitely glad I did. It’s one of the best saimins I’ve had in a very long time. They make their noodles fresh. It’s a thin, flat-style of noodle. Almost like a linguine. If you eat it right away, it has just the right amount of bite to it. The dashi was very flavorful. It has a much more shrimp based flavor than most saimin broths. Really tastes like something my grandma would have made. Definitely check it out.

What a traumatizing experience with the parking here. Beware if you park on this food truck parking lot, someone is always watching and ready to boot your car if you walk away from the establishment. Make sure you buy from the food trucks only and never leave the lot or pay $ 160 to get a boot off your car. They don’t warn you. There should be a law. It’s like robbing someone and it’s perfectly legal. If I do come back here, I will definitely park elsewhere. This experience totally ruined my day. Lesson learned: READPARKINGRULES.

Ok, I went back here to try their«famous» fried saimin. Their noodles are all freshly made which Sage S mentioned looks like the curly kine found in the instant cup noodles but longer so you know it’s not actually from the cup noodle itself. It «HAD» two pieces of fish cake, some slices of spam and char siu and some green onion. It was cooked up in their special home made teri sauce which was a winner. Notice I wrote«HAD»… I normally try to watch my carb intake but I couldn’t help myself as I kept on opening the lid to take another bite. Yes compared to their teri-hamburger their fried saimin is a winner!!! On a side note… If you park you vehicle in their private dirt lot, do not leave to go to another place(away from the lunch trucks) as they will put a boot on your vehicle and then you will have to wait till the tow truck gets there to take it off. Yes you will have to pay a fine or they will tow it away.

Noodles are great! We both agreed that the fried saimin was far superior to the soup saimin. The noodles are homemade and the curliness reminds me of cup noodle, except this is way better of course. Again, u want the fried saimin. Winnahs

Great little food truck, parked in the lot on Kapahulu next to American Savings. I was enticed in by the signs pointing out that they make fresh homemade noodles, and after eying it for a couple of days I tried the Wonton Mein. They offer small or large portions — the small is perfect for me and my boyfriend loves the large size. The saimin comes with the aforementioned homemade noodles, handmade wontons, char siu pork, small pieces of spam, green onions, and daikon. The broth smelled a little like seafood and I was a little wary, but somehow when you mix everything up and add the hot mustard they give you it’s all AMAZING and not seafood-y at all. The noodles were everything I imagined they would be – firm, great texture, nice flavor. The wontons have great flavor, and even though I’m not a fan of spam the tiny little pieces add a great little salty accent. We’ve been back twice already. The best part is, it’s super affordable! $ 5.75 for the small, $ 7.75 for the large. Awesome!
