I like this location for take out their fast and very friendly. The lady that works there is very nice and she’s always smiling. Plus the sushi is very yummy.

I’ve been to Ninja sushi at other locations, but this was my first time at the downtown location. My favorite roll is the Superman maki, which includes spicy ahi, cucumber, topped with ahi and crunchies. I think it’s a good amount for the price you pay! I thought the store set up was a little strange with the entrance on the street side, but there was also an ordering window on the opposite side. It’s a good idea in order to get the most business from people passing by, but would be more efficient if there was more than just one woman taking orders and a man making the sushi. But for lunch hour downtown, they really know how to be quick and efficient and I got my food quickly. Check out ninja sushi when you’re craving some during a long work day!

100 Unilocal Review Challenge 2015: 103⁄100 I know Ninja Sushi is a franchise but I would have never known if not for the sign. This Ninja Sushi’s owners/workers here are friendly folks that would make you think this was a mom & pop place! The prices are basically the same as any other Ninja Sushi so you can’t specifically criticize this location for that but the service is great! My co-worker ordered a roll and takoyaki while I got the Tempura Maki($~6). We walked up narrow steps to the 2nd floor which had several tables and seating against the wall, reminds me of restaurants in Japan! We waiting in the nice A/C while our order was being made. When it was ready, the kind cashier came up the stairs and delivered it to us. The food itself was standard, as in, not authentic sushi but still good. To be honest, I was expecting unagi like sauce for my tempura maki but it seems they just drizzled shoyu on it?! The wooden table we were seated at was uneven, so I was paranoid the glass shoyu bottle might slide off and break on the ground while I ate. As we left, the workers thanked us and we headed back to the office. Overall, typical Ninja Sushi but with mom & pop like service!

This place is just OK. I’m going to give it a try again since it’s close to my work. I was in a rush and had to grab some food within a short time frame. They definitely were able to prepare my order quickly. However, I don’t think the quality was too great.

I went at 4pm, when the upstairs portion was closed, but the cashier/cook let me eat inside anyway. She was very nice and despite cleaning up for closing, kept returning to see if I needed help. I ordered the Ninja Pac 3 and Rainbow Roll which were both delicious and found them priced at the level of similar places. The roll did have a tendency to crumble on me, and the poke was sometimes chewy, otherwise a 5-star. It was kinda weird that she was the only one to do orders and cooking but she handled me and other customers fine. It’s definitely got more of a take-out vibe than dine-in.

This is my go to sushi spot downtown. Great offering. Nice quiet area to eat. Friendly owner. I love 80% of the rolls. Sometimes I order the superman just because it makes me feel strong! The eating area can get warm but they turn on the AC if you ask.

I like that sushi is here, but it’s really lazy. I get the same thing every time(ahi lover) but the spicy tuna rolls are always messy, with loose rice and too large ahi chunks. It’s a LOT of money for a meal that isn’t comforting

My friend and I went in for lunch before our class started at HPU and the lady was very helpful and nice. She instantly remembered my friend from last time she had gone there. What was great is that she let us have two different types of sushi to make our 8 pieces for the same price! How nice right?! The sushi was delicious as well! She also gave us a discount because we were students, and the prices weren’t bad so which made it better Will definitely eat there again when craving for sushi before class

Good sushi-for never really eating much before in my life, really not as bad as I thought it would be. Still a beginner, so I only eat the California & superman sushi. & good service. So they get 5 stars in my book!

One of the best sushi places on the Island. I like this place. Just keep in mind, on the weekdays it can get pretty busy in here since it’s located on one of the busiest streets in downtown, Bishop st. They’re open on Saturdays too, it’s much less crowded then. Try the Tiger, Tsunami and Volcano Maki. Winnahz!

Located conveniently in front of 1132 Bishop Street Tower, this Ninja Sushi has outstanding customer service. As with most other Ninja Sushi’s.the food is always great. However what makes this place stand out from the rest is the hospitality. Every time I visit, I am always greeted in a genuine manner. You can see the employees working quickly and efficiently as they know most patrons are either on a lunch break from school(HPU) or a quick lunch break from work in downtown. If the wait is expected to be a bit longer, they always inform you with a genuine apology. Prices are a bit higher than Aloha Sushi(in 1132 Bishop), however the hospitality keeps me coming back.

10% off if you’re a Remington or HPU student. Lady who helped me was a real sweetheart; if they were selling smiles and warm fuzzies, I’d be back every day. However, they are not selling smiles and warm fuzzies, and this is where I experienced my most disappointing spicy ahi roll to date. Barely there bits of fish in a mayo-heavy mix, heat that felt like it was just straight cayenne pepper, and just… just…:’( I won’t be back again, but please keep up with the great customer service.

During the semester when I’m downtown, between classes, and craving sushi but Genki’s is too far away, this is the next place I go to grab some. Before when I was unfamiliar with the dishes I’d usually get the ahi bowl but now, I’m in love with the crunchy maki! About eight dollars but with a valid HPUID card they give a small discount. Any bit counts… I guess. Anyways the lady who usually runs the shop is really nice and if you visit enough she’ll start remembering faces and start conversations. There is an upstairs if you’d prefer to dine in but they don’t allow outside food or drinks, which kind a sucks but I don’t usually do that, especially after an incident where she stopped my friend and I from going upstairs just because she had a bubble tea drink. We didn’t know! Overall, I normally don’t come in unless I’m really craving it, it is expensive and I should really look at other places to eat downtown.

Take-out sushi that tastes fresh and is super cheap? Man I love Hawaii. Ninja Sushi does not disappoint. Fast, fresh, cheap, good selection. This location is super small but the lady who works here is efficient and super cheerful. Granted, the rolls themselves are smaller than in a restaurant, but quality is still good. I did have to ask for soy sauce(not given automatically?!) and there was no fresh wasabi or ginger.

The only reason I come here is when I really want sushi for lunch and because it’s so close to my work. It is a bit pricey compared to other sushi places, so I try to resist this place unless I really want to spend more than I should. The lady that works there is nice I suppose, but I can see she tries way too hard to get money. I mean, I just want sushi, no need to ask if I want a drink with it. If I wanted a drink, I would get it. She did this twice as far as I can remember. But she did offer me a take-out menu and said I could call her for orders because my work is nearby. My sushi would be ready for pickup so I wouldn’t have to wait. That’s convenient I guess, but I never did that because there is usually no line. At max, I think I only had to wait like 5 minutes. Each time I come here I try to get something different just so I can figure out which rolls taste the best and are my favorites. So far, it is the superman and tornado maki. I have also tried the spicy ahi donburi, but bleh. I think I like Kuru Kuru better for donburis.

This is a small store that is located in the heart of downtown. There is no in dining area for you. So your only option is take out. They are a friendly staff and willing to help you out with your order. But don’t take too long though because you can build up a line and cause people to get impatient. The service makes up for the fact that the sushi that they serve is of mediocre quality. I went there once because I had a craving for sushi and it tasted great. But the next time i went my sushi desire was not as strong. The rice was hard and the ahi was squishy. Be warned that you are taking a risk on getting your sushi craving satisfied.

We went there for lunch when we visit the palace. My husband didn’t realize it is a take out place and include additioanl $ 3 for the tip. She brought our food upstair without servicing any water. Not only that. The egg sushi was bad. There were other customers when we left. We tried to tell her the egg sushi went back politely by telling her to check on her food. She didn’t say very much. You can tell that she knew it is bad before she served it to you and she know that she can get away with it because we were just visiting there. Not honest at all. Serving food already went bad. I will give it 0 star if I can.

Sushi is limited in downtown. Ninja Sushi is one of the eateries that stay open when most of downtown closes. I ate here once before on a weekend and remembering it not being too great. Hoping for a cheap snack, I came here again this afternoon. The prices were a bit high for a takeout sushi joint but I was hungry. I ordered the spicy ahi hand roll and the three piece scallop mayo nigiri. They came out to about $ 7 and they’re kinda small. The hand roll was alright, the spicy sauce wasn’t as creamy as I liked, or spicy at all. The scallop mayo though were really good! Plump scallops mixed with a little mayo, tobiko, and green onions, YUM! Another gripe since it was made to order, the nori wasn’t crunchy. I want to try their specialty rolls since they look really tempting but not sure when that will be. The man that works there is very nice!

Oh Ninja Sushi… how is it that you’re so addictively delicious? Ninja Sushi is definitely a sushi stop that I can easily binge on. I think my back-to-back record has been eating here 5 days in a row. The rolls aren’t as cheap as Aloha but the quality is so astronomically better, it’s worth the few extra dollars to shell out. Plus the people who work there are always so nice and pleasant! I’ve never had a problem with an order or the food. Also, I really appreciate that they have a seating area upstairs with a bathroom and air conditioning! But seriously, the rolls are DELICIOUS. Unless you’re allergic to fish, even if you don’t like raw fish or sushi, the Dynamite Maki will change your life! The Dragon Maki, Tiger Maki, Superman Maki, Rainbow Maki, Softshell Crab Maki are just a few of my favorite makis. While there are other items on the menu like handrolls, donburri and I think even Udon, their specialty maki menu is where Ninja Sushi really shines. Added bonus, when you call, someone actually answers and you can make orders for pick-up. That’s a service that always earns extra brownie points in my book.
