I called for an estimate and Harry the owner stop by to provide the evaluation /​estimate /​etc. I shown him the area and he asked if there were other termite activities around the house. I stated no and he immediately informed me that I should «self treat» the area with Term out from Longs. He was not interested in «wasting my monies» and trying to sell me some service but rather instructing me on how to find the «hole» and spray that area with Term out. I was impressed with his honesty and not trying to sell me something I did not need, i.e. tent or spot treatment. I will consider Oahu for my future termite needs.

I called made an appointment. Told them I have a 2 story house, There are ants in my attic. They made the appointment. Shin tried to cancel because he said he was tired and traffic might be bad. Then when I told him I took off from work to wait for him, he came 2 hrs late. When he got there no ladder. I told them in my attic. He told me I don’t have ants in my house just outside, because he didn’t see any. I told him go home. They suck

Fantastic to get rid of our ants, which is what we were dealing with for many years. I’d come into the kitchen in the morning, and the counter was black with thousands of them. We live on the edge of conservation land so it’s got plenty bugs. Outside we had multiple black ribbons of ants six inches wide on the house, streaming up from the ground at several spots. For several years I tried spraying/​dusting, but besides doing chemical warfare on myself, it was a losing battle. I tried paying another company $ 50/​month to come out, but the very next day after they sprayed, I’d have streams of ants coming right up on the house again, exactly where the other company had sprayed! So I looked here on Unilocal and tried Oahu Termite and Pest Control. They come out quarterly and spray/​dust the entire yard and areas around the whole house, which they said they have to do for a tough problem like mine. IMMEDIATELY NO ANTS! Yayyy!!! Years of dealing with the little bugs and now they’re gone. Once in a while the ants come back a little in maybe one spot, so I ask Junior to hit that area extra well the next time he comes out, and he does, and no more problem. And counter to some of the negative reviews, we’ve had zero problems with scheduling or responsiveness. And one guy gave them one star because of a probable missed phone call or message or whatever? Come on! Give these folks a try — their service is well worth it.

A couple of weeks prior, Junior from Oahu Termite came to check on a small termite problem in the laundry room. At that time, he could not find the source of the problem but at the request of my niece, he did spray the baseboards. Since I found out that Junior did not actually clean out the cabinet of stuff and really look at under the sink area, I asked that he return for a better inspection. Paula, the office person, said I would have to pay for another service charge. I argued that Junior should have looked closer inside the cabinet even if she had to unload the stuff (because liability prevented Junior from doing it) but he did not tell her. So, after repeated calls to Junior, she called and it was agreed that Junior would return for a better inspection without charge.
It took four days for Junior to call to schedule an appointment. He is actually a nice person, as my niece had described him and has something like 25 years experience. He arrived on time this morning and did a more thorough inspection, at first not finding the source of the problem. To make a long story short, finally, it seemed he located some droppings at the base corner but said he could not treat it because it seems the problem is in a area unreachable. But, he did spray as much as he thought would be helpful, if we are lucky.
He asked if the company could charge again at a discounted rate because the treatment the first time was not guaranteed. I declined because an agreement was already made on the phone. If I were going to pay again, why would I pay the same company which did not do a good job in the first place? Besides, after waiting around for four days just to get a scheduling call back, I was not in the mood to pay more.
Everyone has a phone in their pocket, including Junior. I cannot understand why he could not pick up the phone for two minutes to make a call. It is very poor customer service. Or, why could the office staff not make the appointments. She knows when and where the techs are working. I gave two stars just because Junior did come again and he was nice. But, to use their service again? I’d rather do without the irritations of calling three times and waiting for a call back for four days. No, thanks!

Every year I call Oahu Termite and Pest Control to spray the exterior of my home. Its good practice and part of my annual home checklist to ensure pests don’t get to comfortable around the house. Pair this treatment up with your own quarterly sprays of Ortho Home Defense of some other product and you should be bug free all year long.
What I like. The treatment works, they don’t try to upsell me and dudes are on time.
What I don’t like. There seems to be a disconnect between the front office and the technicians. I always have to call back to tell the front office that the technician never called me for my appointment. Once I do that, I all of sudden get a call by the technician scheduling the appointment. This is the third year this has happened and the technician always gives me the same excuse. Ahh man. I had the wrong number written down. In my head, I’m like whatever, I’m onto you but I haven’t called him out cause he’s an older gentleman. Lol
Overall, you should give this company a shot. I’m a fan.

Great experience. We were in the process of purchasing a home and needed a termite inspection. One call was enough to get the guy out and do the inspection. We also had the ground treatment done and with the 5 year warranty you got nothing to lose. It was done in 2 weeks and perfect timing for escrow to closed also. Thank you!

Bit of a mixed review here. Started service in Oct. 2014, and the first and second treatments showed results. We were happy. In December, they didn’t show up even though we were on a monthly schedule. I had to remind Shin. He said he would put us on a schedule. This month, I had to remind him again. He said he would be here on the 20^th, but they never came.
Shin is a super nice guy, I even gave him a shooting gong for free because he made a comment about it when he saw mine. For whatever reason, they cannot stick to a schedule and the bugs quickly come back so I now have to reluctantly find another company.

Fantastic experience. I did have to call twice because the answering service didn’t pass my message along the first time. Despite that hiccup still five stars. Shin was prompt, effective, and made sure I only paid for what I needed. He even found a way to squeeze my appointment in before the end of the week when he already had a a full schedule. Beyond all that he was a genuinely nice person and interacted with my family really well. I will be using these guys again and highly recommend them!

I think this company is great! Wonderful customer service and over all so friendly and helpful. From the girls in the office to the techs that service your house, these guys are awesome!

After our neighbors moved out I began to notice little ‘visitors’ hanging out in my kitchen. The first time I called Oahu Termite I left a message and did not hear back for a few days. When I called them back I set up an appointment and Shin arrived a few days later. He was absolutely awesome. He was able to solve the problem by simply baiting. The best part though was that I did not feel judged at all. When you have a problem like this it can be somewhat embarrassing, but with Oahu Termite they made the whole process smooth and painless (not for my ‘visitors’ though). I would absolutely recommend them to anyone on island. They are as good as it gets!

I didn’t know the first thing about fumigating, but Oahu Termite made it so easy and simple… it was like Termite Control for dummies.
We got tented and ground treatment. Jason kept me updated from beginning to end, and even helped with packing up the remainder of items that were not packaged yet. He delivers great customer service, and I totally trusted my house with them.
Their services come with the basic 5 year warranty, and they even offer a security package for someone to sleep outside your house and pace the perimeter to ward off thieves and creeps. Definitely no bugs here!

Because of Unilocal reviews I emailed Oahu Termite & Pest Control requesting an appointment for roaches. In less than 24 hours Jason called me to set up an appointment. Jason came today March 12, 2013 to scope out our house & roach problem. After identifying the type of roaches we have, he suggested we «do-​it-​yourself» with products from home improvement store to save money with the same results. He gave specific instructions on what to get, how to do it, how often, etc. We couldn’t be more pleased with Oahu Termite & Pest Control. If we (or anyone we know) ever need professional treatment for any pests in the future, we will highly recommend Oahu Termite & Pest Control.

This company must be very busy. Took a while before I got a return call from their operations manager. Jason. When he came over to my house, he actually told me I had a rodent problem, no termites. He said one of my air vents had no screen. He actually crawled into my tight attic and took some pictures for me. He said the simple solution was installing a vent screen from City Mill. He told me I didn’t have to fumigate the house once the screen was installed. Amazingly, he said there was no charge for this inspection. Jason was very professional.

Because of the great reviews on Unilocal,I called Oahu Termite to schedule an appointment. Left a message with a live person, but never got a call back.
I called again a couple weeks later and left another message with another person. Again – no call back. Surprised and disappointed.
I feel like I can’t trust the Unilocal reviews for this company… :(

This company is very honest and deserves its great reviews. I was worried that my mom’s house had a termite infestation due to droppings and holes I found in the baseboards. My mom had never had an inspection or fumigation in the 35 years she’s lived there. I was told over the phone by the technician that if we had ground termites they were 100 times more destructive than dry wood termites so we scheduled an inspection asap. We were told that we did not have ground termites and the little bit of dry wood termites we had could be treated with products we could buy from City Mill. I commend this company for their honesty and integrity. This is a lost virtue, IMHO. They could have easily told us we needed to tent the house which would have cost thousands. I would not hesitate to contact them in the future for our other properties and I will definitely recommend them to everyone!

GOT BUGS? I did. I had ‘em all: Termites, Roaches, rodents, and more. But not anymore.
Thanks to Jason at Oahu Termite, the fumigation process was professional, on time, and they SAVED ME OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS. If you are considering fumigating your house, feel free to read my little novella. (EDIT 4/​2014-​I called Jason because I had a question about possible wasp nests and discovered he is at Menehune Pest Control now, so I now call him at MENEHUNE PEST CONTROL. He is no longer at Oahu Termite).
We discovered a colony of mature swarming dry-​wood termites. There were hundreds (or thousands!) of termites eating away at our books, windows, and walls. (I would post those pictures but it was disgusting!) When you tent your house you pretty much leave everything open and unsecured, so you need to choose a company that has a good reputation you can trust. I should have just called Oahu Termite first.
I called Terminix first. I thought they would give us a deal since we were existing customers. (WRONG!) The Terminix guy that came for the free estimate was knowledgeable but seemed a bit pushy and scheduled an appointment to have our house tented the following week. If you’ve ever had to do this, you know that it’s a pain in the ass to prepare for this «event» and there was no way I could evacuate my kitchen/​pantry in one week. Not only that, but they require payment up front (half up front, half after the work is done). They actually had the HIGHEST QUOTED PRICE and they use the ugliest colored tents (orange/​green). Think about the last time you saw an orange/​green tent… not too many people use these guys and now you know why, they are expensive.
I called Kama’aina Pest control the next day. «Locally owned» is their motto, and the guy that came for the free estimate was also knowledgable. He wasn’t as pushy and left the estimate for me to look over for a few days before he called me back. Their estimate was about $ 100 cheaper than Terminix and they use red/​black tents (my favorite colors!). Not that the colors matter, but just think about how many red/​black tents you’ve seen. Yep, these guys are crazy busy.
I also called Aloha Termite & Pest Control to inquire about the «tentless» treatment but they never returned my call. Anyway, in addition to termites, we had rats living in the walls and crawl spaces so I wanted to kill everyone all at the same time.
OAHU TERMITE & PEST CONTROL was quick to send Jason S. (the operations manager) to survey the house. The estimate was $ 1100 less than Terminix! When I called Terminix to cancel my fumigation appointment, they told me «Well don’t you think if they are that much cheaper then something must be wrong?» I’m willing to take my chances on this one. Oahu Termite has a 5 year guarantee so I have no problem spending $ 1100 less on fumigation. Why pay more?
Like another reviewer mentioned, Oahu termite uses Kama’aina Pest Control on the actual day of fumigation. Jason supervised the entire process, and even helped me finish bagging up all my items in the refrigerator and freezer. Once the team from Kama’aina pest control arrived, the RED/​BLACK tent went up quickly. This was truly a ONE TEAM effort, and I am switching my quarterly pest control over to Oahu termite as well.

Had my house tent fumigated from Oahu Termite. Service from Jason Sahara (Operations Mgr.) was friendly and efficient. Completed and Serviced as promised. Actual tenting work is sub-​contracted out to Kamaaina Pest Control, though Oahu Termite staff handles the chemicals.
Would recommend to friends and family.
