quite good food with adequate choices for all palates. we went after visiting the aquarium and everyone of 7 people ordered something different. right on beach, so nice and shaded & breezy. only drawback was the pigeons.

This location is under new ownership and called Barefoot Beach Café. The food is much better now. Same great location. Eggs Benedict and Ahi sandwich are excellent and a great value. Live music and yoga at 5:00 on Saturdays. The yoga is offered as a public service and donations to local charities are accepted. See the Facebook post for Barefoot Beach Sunset Yoga.

The food was good and it’s always beautiful in Waikiki. However, managers/owners need to staff better with more chefs. This place is usually not too busy. But today there were lots of big parties of tourists both Japanese and mainland tourists. The wait time was just too long! The food didn’t come out of the kitchen which leads to the conclusion that more kitchen help is needed, especially since the menu lists many cook to order seafood items. I left feeling bad for people waiting for their orders.

For some strange reason, most tourist don’t venture south of Kapahulu Avanue. They stay near their hotels and never discover Kapiolani Park. That is just so sad. Sadder still is they never get to eat at this great little snack shop. I simply cannot visit Honolulu without eating here. When I lived in Honolulu as a child, an older version of this place existed and I loved that as well. Proof that you can go home and sometime it’s even better than you remember. Mahalo.

The ono burger was AMAZING. Simple, unpretentious perfection. No frills: just lettuce, tomato, the tiniest bit of marinade and a toasted bun. But the fish itself was the sort of thing you’d find in the finest seafood restaurant, but at a fraction of the price. Super friendly service, by the man I’m assuming is the owner. The perfect accompaniment to a nice relaxing day on the beach.

When you are at the Waikiki Beach and you need a quick soda or a refreshing icee float — come here for a quick beverage. Prices are very reasonable and they have nice local food here. Recommended: Icee Float & french fries!

Paniolo Beachside Grill is a step above a snack bar on Queen’s Surf Beach. I had low expectations of the food here, and they were mostly met, except the«fast food» was exceedingly slow to arrive. What I liked about the grill: + Friendly service + The food tasted fresh + Shady seating + Convenience of not having to leave the beach to eat lunch What wasn’t so hot: — The fruit smoothie was more like a slurpee or icee(super sugary) — There are lots of pigeons(I know, not their fault) — Service is incredibly slow — Food is only so-so(about what you’d expect for a snack shack on the beach) The menu offers a lot of bacon in dishes that don’t traditionally feature bacon. I’m not a member of the«Everything is better with bacon» club, so it didn’t do it for me. 2.5 stars
