I took my two boys there today for haircuts. Keep in mind my sons are 4 and 3. My oldest went first and the person who cut his hair was less than patient. He keep getting scolding for moving or not keeping his head where it was supposed to be. I honestly thought he was not doing anything wrong. He sat still and was very well behaved. At the end of the cut, he started crying. And holding his ear. I then realized it was because the stylist cut him! All the person said was«you’re ok». No sorry, no nothing! And you would think after cutting him we’d get the cut free or at least a discount… nope! I quickly declined having my younger son’s hair cut there and we left. On top of all that… the cut was a mess. This was after I asked the stylist to fix the parts I wasn’t happy with. We won’t be back! That was a traumatic and disappointing experience.

I have found my night in shining armor(when it comes to hair at least) in Raven. Literally the BEST blow out I have ever had. I even gave it the sweaty sleep test and it was amazingly smooth on day 2! I am Caucasian and have very thick, coarse, curly, challenging BLONDE hair. Sorry Hawaii but you guys aren’t so skilled on the blondes …(who I’ve tried, at least.) He didn’t do color but most stylists have a hard time even blowing out my hair and 9.9 out of 10 times I regret going when I could have done a better job myself. I would have no hesitations trying his talents on my color. I will be going back regularly and I’m going to encourage him never to leave Hawaii each time I go :) 5STARS!

Mary is the best I’ve been going to her for years. She’s just moved to the windward mall location and worth the trip over. Color is on point. Cut is on point. And she’s easy to talk to. Go see her! You won’t be disappointed

I’ve come here a handful of times to get my hair cut. My grandma usually goes to one of the top stylists(Hana) at this salon and she is very helpful. However, Hana was not in one day and I had to choose another stylist. Although this one was not as highly ranked, I figured she’d still be okay. The service here is pretty decent, and for the most part, the workers here are friendly. However, it seems as though many of them come and go. I get my hair cut generally about every 4 – 8 months and every time that I request a certain stylist, they are either not working that day or not working there at all anymore. If you are looking for a consistent stylist, this may not be the place for you. However, if you’d like to try your luck with a new one almost every time, then by all means. I’ve had pretty good luck with all the stylists when I’ve gotten my hair cut and no problems. The pricing depends on who is cutting your hair and their ranking within the salon, but they all do a good job.

Mary is fantastic! My daughter in law got a beautiful color today. Mary did a 2-step color process so that the color lasts longer. It was well worth the wait. My son was also very pleased with his regular haircut. My cut and color was perfect, as usual. And that’s why we drive all the way from Aiea to Hawaii Kai. Mary is the BEST!

I drove to Hawaii Kai to visit the Hawaii Kai Salon and Day Spa from Aiea. My appt was cancelled without notice(due to poor planning on the salon’s part) so I was in a scramble to get my hair done. After googling Salons in the area I decided to try Regis. I was immediately taken in and was provided a warm and friendly atmosphere and exceptional customer service. Bebe was my stylist and she was very accommodating! She colored my hair EXACTLY the way I wanted it. I’m so glad that Hawaii Kai Salon SCREWEDUP so that I could stumble on this gem of a salon! I am a fan and I will be back! Thanks Bebe!

I went to Regis because I wanted a quick, cheap haircut, hopefully with decent quality. I looked at the reviews on Unilocal and saw that the prices were in the $ 35 range, so I called and was able to get an appointment the same day for just a haircut. When I arrived, the stylist Dee took me right back to her chair and asked what I wanted. I told her that I wanted a trim to get rid of some split ends and tangles. She told me that she would wash my hair when a basin was free, and then washed my hair and cut it, then blew it dry and used the flat iron a bit and touched up the cut. The haircut was fine, not perfect but fine, and I got out of there in about an hour. The salon itself wasn’t anything special, and one of the other stylists was extremely noisy and opinionated, but I was hoping to get a quick cheap haircut, so all of these things were fine to me. That all came apart when I got to the cash register and they tacked on a $ 20 fee for the wash and style on top of the cut, bringing the total to $ 56. No way that was a $ 50+ haircut and experience. I didn’t even want the style or the wash, but every other place I have been to has those elements integrated into the price, and most salons continue to touch up the cut after they style so I didn’t think to question it. Once I got home I looked at the company website and saw that the price for a shampoo, condition, cut and style should be $ 36-$ 41, so apparently they decided to rip me off. Fortunately I had a 25% off coupon that I found online, so that helped, but I’m never going back again. The quality, service and atmosphere are not worth the pricetag, and the pricing is dishonest.

Great value! Although they charge deceptive $ 10 for long hair(my hair isn’t very long at all), total price is still $ 45! Used to go to Palazzo but couldn’t stand the $ 70 cost anymore. Interior is not as posh as other salons but the quality of my cut is better than my Palazzo cut. Brian was my stylist!

A big MAHALO to Margaret for the review on Hana … so far my mom, sister, a friend & her daughter have all gone in to see her. Everyone has been very pleased with the cut & price of $ 36 !!! she really takes her time & listens to your requests — highly recommend taking in a picture of what you want to speed up the process. ** free parking & convenient location

I was appalled at the service and condition of this regis! The entire time that I was in there, the stylists kept talking loudly and disruptively to each other, and my stylist would walk off in the middle of cutting my hair to look at something the other stylists were showing here. On top of that, the salon was filthy. The floor had not been properly swept so there was hair everywhere, boxes of supplies were haphazardly piled in places, and it just did not have a well kept up appearance. I’ve been to several Regis’ and this was the worst one.

Today I decided I could not stand my growing-out crazy hair one second longer, so I stopped in at Regis to see what they could do. By luck of the gods I was given to Hana. I gave her a vague explanation(I think I might want to cut it to the length of the front but I’m not too sure, my hair is thick, it sticks up when it’s too short, the humidity makes my hair crazy, I don’t want to flat iron it), who gave me a super cute A-line bob that is wash and wear. It’s smooth and feels a lot better in addition to looking good. She explained exactly what she would do before hand in detail and asked me if it was okay. I agreed, then she cut. Prices start at $ 32. I was charged $ 36. She let me know she could do highlights for $ 29, which would just be the front area. Additionally, she gave me a bunch of product samples to try which come with coupons.

My daughter got a haircut somewhere else and about 2 – 3 weeks later, she decided that her bangs were not short enough. Since it was just for her bangs, I figured that Regis or Supercuts in Hawaii Kai would suffice. My daughter decided on Regis so I dropped her off there while I went to Safeway. The stylist at Regis told my daughter that her hair was not even and that she needed to fix it as well as cut her bangs. When I got there, they were almost done. I saw absolutely no difference in length and there was hardly any hair on the floor. They tacked on an extra charge for long hair so basically a bang trim cost me over $ 50!!! WTF? I didn’t feel like arguing as I just wanted to get out of there. What a rip off — never again.
