Love shopping here. Got cool stuff for both guys and girls and the owners are cool as hell. I’ve always found uniquely cool digs and things from here: urban comfy t-shirts, elegant and classy tops/dresses, funky tote bags, delightful animé toys. And there’s apparel for guys too. It’s always fun to shop here because you’re pretty much guaranteed to find something you’re going to want to buy. I still prefer going to the Hawaii Kai location over the new Ala Moana spot though.

If girls like to try on dresses and hats and clothes, guys like to dink around with«stuff», preferably super hero, robot or comic book stuff. THAT’S why I love Split Obsession! Wisely, the husband/wife team knew that if I could browse the racks while my husband stays occupied, not only will I stay longer, I’ll spend more money(because he’ll be too busy to notice). The clothes are adorable, there is a decent selection for such a tiny store and they sell my favorite jeans by local designer Allison Izu… she makes jeans for shorties like me. I also like to pick up little gifts for my favorite hipster nieces while I am in there. I chat it up with the super friendly owner(who tells me about their NEW location at Ala Moana) while I pay for my goods and I actually have to ask my husband if HE’S ready to leave. Ahh…shopping success.

Everytime I am in Hawaii Kai — I need to make a trip to this store. Its a heavenly delight for my senses and the clothes are so cute, so different, so forward and trend setting for Hawaii. If you want to look different from every other local girl in Hawaii this is the place to visit. The owners, however, are what make this place special. Spend some time talking to Bruce and you loose track of how long you have been in there!

Can’t comment on the toys, but the dresses are super cute! Prices are reasonable for boutique clothing, and the owners are really friendly and helpful too.

Even though I have to drive across the universe to shop at Split Obsession, it’s never a disappointment. I usually go with the intent on not spending any money, but I leave with one, two, or ten little blind box toys(I guess it’s kind of dangerous in that way). But, it’s like Christmas every time. They also carry women and men’s clothing that are relatively affordable, and are brands that are not always easy to find. The owners and employees are all very friendly and very helpful, adding to the pleasant shopping experience. This is probably one of my favorite places to go to find little gifts for friends or to find a pick-me-up.

very interesting store with a fresh concept. Its a place that both guys and girls can go to. They have very cute girly clothes that are reasonably priced especially the dresses. The guy that works there is very outgoing and friendly and makes shopping very pleasant. I only like going there when he’s there because the girl that owns that place and works there isnt very cordial and didnt even say hi to me when i walked in and I was the only one in the store.

It’s like Kidrobot meets Upper Playground. Now this would make perfect sense for any Haight Street local in San Francisco, but for everyone else this place is a diversified boutique featuring trendy hip-hop-inspired urban wear and graffiti-based character toys. They got some fresh shit. Their selection of clothes is great for both guys and gals. Some of the clothes they have are hard to come by in Hawaii. The main thing that I went crazy over was their selection of Goorin hats. I’ve loved these hats for years, and consider myself an avid Goorin fan. The toys are interesting to look at, and the have that same playfully random novelty that I loved about Kidrobot. I was so surprised to find this place in Hawaii Kai. As many know, this part of town isn’t exactly known for its shopping. It’s kind of funny that this great store is in a type of shopping wasteland. The owner is extremely helpful, and is easy to talk to. Split Obsession is a worth a trip to find some fresh urban threads.
