I went here with my girlfriend the other week. There is a definite absence of professionalism here. The lady making our shave ice was rudely yelling on her cell phone. The shave ice was okay. Nothing spectacular. I’m not sure if we would go here again.

YIKES Poor customer service and an overall lack of professionalism. YELLINGORTALKING? If I didn’t know any better I would have thought the woman behind the counter was yelling at me in Vietnamese… She was talking to someone on her cell phone through its crappy speaker phone.(Kind of similar to how crazy Bluetooth users look while on it, but without the Bluetooth.) She was practically yelling to the woman on the other end. There was no way I would be able to enjoy my shave ice in there, so the bf and I took it outside. Crazy thing is that we could still hear her yelling(talking?) from outside! RANDOMNESS Other than that craziness, this place has the most random stuff. They serve shave ice, milk tea, bubble tea, smoothies, and more. They also sell stuff too: candy, snacks, random toys and knickknacks, etc. I saw some weird little stuffed animals in there too… EARMUFFS! I’d probably give this place another try because of its convenience. And I’m rather curious about their milk tea. Next time I’ll go prepared — with some ear plugs! «Earmuffs!»(Cups hands over ears) Unilocal 365 — #077/365

I wanted shave ice really bad, so I stopped by Waiola Moiliili but the line was 10 deep. Considered going to Kapahulu, but figured it would be the same. Came here because it wasnt busy and had parking. The Shave ice was pretty good. Although their syrups cant compare to Waiola, the ice was very comparable(very soft). The price was $ 3.50 for a large bowl with ice cream. I was happy.

We arrived after 2:00pm, i.e., after the normal lunch hour, when we ordered one garlic butter and another spicy garlic butter shrimp plate. Took quite a long time to serve up the plates as they had to call«grandma» back to the store to prepare our shrimp plates. Each plate had toss salad with dressing, two scoops of rice and 10OK sized shrimp swimming in butter with chunks of garlic for $ 9.99. We were offered fried rice at no extra charge and we said sure. To our surprise, the shrimps were onolicious! and I didn’t have to drive to the North Shore. We’ll be back but next time closer to 12:00 Noon.

This is the old shipping shack location next to L&L Barbeque on 3rd ave and Waialae in Kaimuki. With L&L, Subway and another plate lunch place all using this tiny parking lot, parking will be very limited. They offer a $ 1.99 breakfast… nothing special but you get 1 egg 2 sausage and rice… can’t expect much for $ 1.99. The lady that works there said they just opened up 3÷21÷11 and will start to serve lunch maybe next week? She had no idea what the menu was like. Their mini mart has things you would not find at 7 – 11 i.e. Huy Fong Hot Chile Sauce(Vietnamese) of course they also have the soda, bottled water, canned goods etc… They have indoor tables and chairs set up so that you can hang out and have your bubble tea and ponder about what you should buy from the mini mart side.
