Pizza In the Raw really needs to work on producing CONSISTENTLY good food. My family ordered whole pizzas 3 different times and twice were dissatisfied. Once, the sauce was too spicy. We called the restaurant to complain and the guy said the sauce was over spiced and had other complaints that night. He offered to come back that night and give us another pizza free so we did. Another time, the pizza did not rise after following the directions. We called again and the guy said, «Oh…okay.» We haven’t been back since.

Great place for lunch… Salad, soda and a slice of pizza for six dollars. Only down side, little hot for sitting in. Dinner is only take-out but over 1000 toppings.

On the recommendation of a friend, I came in to try the $ 5.99 lunch special. It included a slice of pizza(chosen from 3 – 4 daily specials), a salad and homemade dressing, and a drink. The portion size was just enough for me, a petite gal — but the quality of the food really won me over. I had the spinach, garlic, tomato pizza and it was wonderful — very flavorful with a delicate crust. The ginger vinaigrette salad dressing was also homemade and very unique. It’s quality over quantity for sure. Best, the owner talked with me about his business and it was very clear that everything was made with a passion and a concern for quality and customer satisfaction. I’ll definitely be back to try a take-and-bake.

Finally a ‘take-n-bake’ place in Hawaii! The pizza’s here are great, and when you pull it fresh out of the oven and you have that initial super hot bite, it’s heaven! I highly reccomend this place, Sunday’s are best for the $ 7 special.

Good place! The pizza and salads are very good and well priced. The parking sucks but park in the loading zone out front and they bring your pizza to you. Very nice.

Got a whole wheat dough pizza with the following toppings: +bbq chicken +mushrooms +salami +eggplant +half basil tomato sauce & half basil pesto sauce You can also choose hand tossed crust instead. Shared with with a bunch of people and it was a hit! Price of the pizza is a bit high, considering that I had to go home and cook it in the oven myself… but my guests were happy…

Tried this place for the first time yesterday since we had received some gift certificates. I was disappointed, however, that gift certificates could not be applied to the $ 7 Sunday special, so we were charged the regular $ 11. Gift certificates should be treated as cash, period. We couldn’t even use the Gift Certificates with a $ 4 off coupon that we got through a fundraiser. I understand that multiple promotions can’t be combined, but a Gift Certificate is NOT a promotion. It is the same as cash. I can’t spend it anywhere else. I HAVE to spend it here. I really hope the owners are reading this because it’s a bad policy and I hope they reconsider it. On to the pizzas. We ordered 2: Buffalo Chicken, 4-cheese(with Cajun Sauce) and a standard Pepperoni, Sausage and Bacon pizza with Marinara Sauce. The Buffalo Chicken pizza wasn’t bad. Not spectacular, but not bad. The Pepperoni, Sausage and Bacon pizza was a bit too salty. Yeah, I know — I was probably asking for it with the bacon, but it’s actually listed as one of their specials(sans one of the ingredients in my Built-To-Order version), but totally off the sodium scale. I love«seasoning» just as much as the next guy, but even for my local taste buds, it was a little heavy handed. Total price was $ 27 for the two pizzas because they wouldn’t apply the Sunday special. Would you pay $ 27 for two 14″ pizzas that were pretty run o’ the mill? No you wouldn’t. The Sunday price would’ve brought it down to about $ 18 — a little more palatable, but still. FWIW, my opinion is that the owners should lower their prices. $ 17 for a 14″ «special» pizza is asking too much, especially when I’ve got to bake the pizza myself. Same goes for Built-To-Order pizzas starting at $ 11(except for Sundays). Again, far too expensive in this day and age of Costco and/or Delivered pizza to your door. Asking someone to come into the shop to buy the pizza THEN go home and bake it is already asking a lot. I can’t say I’m a pizza snob, but I’ve had my share of great pizzas, and seriously — the pizza here is really nothing out of ordinary considering the price they’re asking. I want these guys to do well, but I don’t think the prices they’re asking are justified. And I’m still disappointed in their Gift Certificate policy.

You can even do it up on whole wheat dough! These guys are pretty cool. Pizza’s start at $ 11 and cost a dollar per topping; or, $ 17 for any of their shmall kine plenny«specialty pizzas». uh, straying away from my usual bullet points, here goes: I ordered a half BBQ Chicken, half BLT… ONO! And, me being me, abundance is my thang… I added sliced garlic and zuchinni when i got home… and extra cheese of course! It’s pretty cool to watch em build the pie, and they wrap it neatly for you to take including a sticker on it with very easy to follow baking instructions. I am definitely going back! Not only do i LOVE pizza, i also have a few gift certificates =) These guys also have cookie dough to go(though i did not sample it) and locally made icecream bars(also did not sample, though noted some flavors that looked delicious… next time!) Location is not the best, approximately where 12th Avenue intersects Waialae Avenue(on the mauka side), and if you know the area at all, you know there’s not a lot of parking. search the streets, or have someone with you so you can get dropped off… OR ***if you call in an order and use a credit/debit card, they will bring it out to you, curbside, when you arrive***…what service! Worth checkin em out! If you’re like me and add toppings, perfect. Also, found out that the owner is one of the guys who opened The Blue Water Grill in Hawaii Kai. BTW: keep in mind that all ovens were not created equal… watch your pies! I didn’t ask(cuz didn’t think of it till now), tho im not sure if they have options for thin, thick crust… it’s ono enough, ya just gotta watch em in da oven!

Take um and bake um pizza shop. Went here because I had purchased the Groupon on my mobile app. The service was great the guy helped me out pleny. Told him it was my first time and he explained everything to me. It took about 5−10Min for the guy to make my pizza. And it was about half the price of pizza and papa johns. Got home cooked the pizza for the party. I got the carnivores specialty pizza. It was good. But it was not the best pizza I have had. I feel could of used more sauce. Overall a good place with great customer service.

Oh pizza in the raw. You sound like such a great idea. Piping hot pizza fresh out of your own oven, tons of customization, excellent and friendly service. Definitely a cool concept. But why oh why couldn’t you just taste great? Is that too much to ask? Am I too demanding? A night with Pizza in the Raw pizza felt like I brought a flat, uninteresting crust straight out of the freezer, popped open a can of tomato sauce, plopped on some veggies, some meat, throw in a yawn for good measure, and blasted it with some heat. I was lucky because I followed a tip to go on Sunday’s where they have a $ 7 pizza special.(I have been told that this isn’t a regular special. Please call them if you want to know their specials) I ended up paying $ 20 for 2 pizzas. I tried two pizzas, The Italian Red and a custom Spinich, Garlic, Olive Oil, Pepperoni. Both boring. A big MEH. I can’t bring myself to pay $ 17 for one regular priced pizza. Yes, the idea is cool. Yes, the service is nice. But a big N-O to the taste. Crust, sauce, cheese, toppings, fail. I want to like this place, but you just don’t get what you pay for.

I went to check out this place when they had a $ 3 special plus $ 1 for each topping! usually it’s $ 11. They have lots and lots of ingredients to choose from or you can get one of their specialty pizzas for $ 17. The service was very nice and friendly even though there was a huge line due to the special. What’s cool about this place is that they put the pizza together for you but you have to take it home and bake it yourself. So you get delicious good quality pizza in the comfort of your home. What’s also cool about this is if you throw away the cardboard and wrapper evidence then you can pretend you made it yourself. This is good if you’re on a date and want to impress them with your«cooking» skills. Throw in a nice bottle of wine and you’re good to go! The pizza is very simple to bake. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees. Then bake for about 20 minutes(the delicious aroma coming from the oven can be torturous if you’re starving), and out comes a beautiful heavenly pizza!!! I customized my pizza with 4 cheese, marinara sauce, bbq chicken, red jalepenos, mushrooms, and olives. I was really surprised at how good it was. It was very delicious. They put a lot of cheese and sauce! I also had a pizza with pesto sauce, feta cheese, carmalized onions, chicken, mushrooms, and garlic. Sounds good but I didn’t like it as much as the marinara sauce pizza. I felt like it didn’t have enough pesto flavor and too much olive oil. I would totally go back again and pay regular price for the pizza. The marinara pizza was so awesome. Way better than a frozen pizza!

i just wanted to update my review to say that the service is here great. They really care about their customer experience. It shows. I ordered the following today: 1 pepperoni mushroom pizza with sundried tomato marinara + four cheese ½ enchilada & ½ BBQ chicken. The pepperoni is my husband’s favorite, and the bbq is my brother’s. The enchilada was different. It was ok, but I think I will try coming up with my own combo next time.

I like the concept. Order a Pizza and have it made fresh for you. Take it home and bake it. The Owner is very nice and friendly. I don’t like the idea of heating up our Oven to 425 degrees in a Tropical Climate to bake it. I didn’t like the Crust after I baked it, tasted kind of cardboard like. I didn’t like the PRICE, approx $ 17– If you like try it and see what you think? In the meantime JJ Dolan’s(downtown) or V Lounge will be my Pizza Stops and I don’t have to cook it myself!

It’s a novel idea for Hawaii. The combos are creative and appetizing. You can call ahead and they will bring your pizzas out to the curb or across the street if they have to – now that’s good service. And it makes location with no street parking a non-issue. The special of the day is a good deal – they said to just call ahead and ask what the special is that day. I have two probably unrealistic wishes, though. #1 — I wish they were a little more generous with the toppings, but how can you complain at $ 1 per topping. #2 — I wish they gave you the option to bake it there, because once I got home it seemed like an overpriced frozen pizza from the store that I still had to cook and slice myself. I understand this goes against the whole concept, but I’m not convinced that local people will see the value in a $ 17 custom pizza that they have to bake themselves. We had the BLT and the Enchilada specials. The BLT was better. Both came with lettuce and ranch dressing, which appealed to me because I thought it’d be like the salad pizzas at California Pizza Kitchen. Not so. It was a small handful of chopped iceberg lettuce, not enough for all 8 slices of the pizza, and thick ranch dressing that was like 98% buttermilk fat. I guess other Unilocalers liked the crust… I didn’t care for it too much. It was bready and flavorless. I prefer crust to be either sweet and doughy or the opposite – thin and crispy. This was nowhere in between. I would still go back to give it a second chance, but I’d try another specialty combo, or make up my own. And I’d call ahead and pick it up at curbside because I waited a good 30 minutes in the store… and I was the only customer there so it was little awkward.

The ONLY reason this food construction company loses a star is their lack of parking, but they gain it back with a willing crew that will deliver your order nearby. Call your order in, and they will run it out to your car when you call them to tell them you’re there. Live close by? Really close? If not, they use with an $ 8 delivery fee(with the cost of gas and parking, it’s a deal, tip not included) Coupons for $ 3 off delivery is available in the restaurant. We’ve tried the cookie doughs and they were excellent, today they suggested making an ice cream sandwich with the chocolate chip, and I can’t imagine anything better. Of course, I ordered the Carnivore on traditional crust, and was very pleased with it. Heated it in my oven at home in a jiffy, per instructions, and it came out superb! The crust was crispy without being brittle, the sauce was«almost» perfect… I prefer a little more bite, but that can be added at the table. It was covered with just the right amount of cheese and paired well with a beautiful salad. For you carbo-watchers there is a whole wheat crust available. The crew is friendlier than most places and makes me rethink … the Aloha Spirit iIS still alive. I’m definitely returning… 808−73-PZRAW. Unfortunately they close at 8pm, open at 2pm. Wish there was an outlet for them for a late night snack, Pretty darn close to home-made without the hassle and mess.

A fresh, fresh, fresh twist to the take ‘n bake concept and it is evident in the heightened flavor. This evening the pizza of the day was«margahita»; fresh tomatoes, julienned basil, and two types of cheeses masterfully and artistically placed on a homemade, hand tossed pizza crust. Twenty-five minutes after popping our pizza into our oven, out came a splendid looking pizza with slightly browned, bubbling cheese steaming hot and wafting a mouthwatering garlic scent. five agonizing minutes later we were able to cut into the creation and I’ve got to admit that it was love at first bite. We are hooked! Pizza in the raw is a wonderful twist on an old concept. The fresh ingredients and the fresh, homemade and hand tossed crust makes a mondo difference in the quality and the flavor of the pizza. This is definitely a «must try»…seriously, try it at least once. NOTE: parking really sucks… on-street and metered. They do offer a drive-by; call in your order and pay over the phone using plastic. They will meet you curbside with your order. Now THAT’S convenience. Love this!

Pizza in the Raw is such an amazing concept! I had never even heard of the whole take and bake pizzeria before, because I don’t think there is another one in Hawaii. When I first thought about it, I thought it would be a hassle to not have the pizza baked for you, but I was so wrong! All you do is go in, get the pizza, take it home, bake it and enjoy the deliciousness. The quality of their ingredients, sauce and dough is phenomenal and far better than any delivery pizza I’ve ever experienced. I got their Greek pizza which was AMAZING! The service was fast and the employees were really friendly. The atmosphere is great, too. It has wonderful lighting and an amusing painting on the wall that gives it a splash of flavorful fun. Their prices are good, too. Extra toppings are only $ 1 each which is great. The pizzas only come in one size, though. The only other thing I would say was that I would agree with Alyssa who said the menu was a little difficult to read, because it’s not in a traditional, laid-out format. I guess that adds to the fun style of the place, though! Overall, definitely 5 stars. :)

Ok… so I’m totally not joking about this story: I was headed down Waialae the other day thinking about how I was jonesin’ for some pizza. Then to my shock– what is that?! It was a new pizza place. Are you kidding me? I drive down this street every day, and it just popped outta no where… in all it’s colorful glory. Maybe it’s a sign that I need to try this place out. Now, from a thread here on Unilocal!I see that the concept of a take-and-bake pizza place seems kinda new for HI. Back home, there are quite a few. As I was walking into PITR today, I couldn’t help but think how I don’t really care for the take-and-bakes back home, but what the heck… the odd coincidence that I found this place made me think I had to try it. So I go in and it’s fairly quiet. The lady behind the counter says they’ve only been open since Thurs. Wow, I didn’t waste any time trying this place, huh? She said they were open now, before their official grand opening so that the staff could get some experience and whatnot. Everyone there was very friendly. So I put in my order and in a few minutes, I was receiving a quick run thru on baking instructions… then just like that I was thanked and went on my merry way. A few hours later when I actually baked off the pizza and got to eat some of it, I was stunned. This place is not only great for a take and bake joint, but it’s better than most chain pizza joints that I have had on the island. They were generous with cheese and toppings and the dough was good. On top of everything, it was very reasonably priced! Excellent! If you’re in the market for some pizza, check this place out, you won’t be sorry! Ok– review over… now back to digesting the massive quantity of pizza we just consumed.

Wow, how cute is this? Pizza In The Raw is a «take and bake» pizza joint. They arrange the pizza for you and you take it home and bake it. 11 dollars is the starting price and it is $ 1 for each addition topping. Or you can get one of their specialty pizzas for $ 17. What’s also great is that everything is fresh and made in house. The dough, the toppings, everything. And your oven is the last level of freshness. No need to be wondering«How long has my pizza been sitting in an insulated bag in the back someones dirty car?» I just gotta say one more thing though. There’s a naked lady on the wall wearing nothing but an apron. She is sooo fierce.
