Who’s in the mood to get into a fight while hunting for parking and listening to your stomach growl? Not me. A restaurant with ample parking is most certainly attractive and stress free. So far my experience with parking on Pucks Alley have not been bad. There, you will find The Greek Corner, literally at the corner off of University Ave, next to Tropics Tap House. Oh! Parking is also graciously validated. I love the simplicity of this restaurant. While outdoor seats are available, tables are also ample indoors for a party of 4 and tables can be arranged for larger parties. The servers are friendly and are always in the mood for a little chatter before ordering. The environment brings forth a mom and pop kind of feel. The perfect neighborhood Greek joint. Large windows on the front are perfect enough for people watching. I’ve always enjoyed my usual of the Beef and Lamb Sandwich with fries. While their fries are über greasy, I truly do enjoy it after a good days work of eating clean! The beef and lamb is served freshly in a nice size pita bread with lettuce and onions, tomatoes and yogurt sauce. This guild as a whole makes the juiciest and tastiest sandwich. Although I only remember ordering their Bakalava one time, it was delicious! I only wish that the order came with more than 2 for the cost. I would also hope that the dessert menu would have more of a variety. Otherwise, this is a fun go to place for a nice Greek meal for both take out and dine in experience.

So you know how sometimes you get that craving for tzatziki and warm pita? Oh, you don’t??? Well I do, and when I do, The Greek Corner is pretty quick and convenient. Just about all restaurant gets their beef and lamb gyros meat from Kronos and their pita from Fantis, so that’s not going to change. What sets places apart are things like their baba ganoush, falafel, and souvlaki. I like to start with the Appetizer Vegetable Platter. Warning this is big and could easily be an entrée for a hungry vegetarian. I wish the spanakopita were crispy, instead of soft and it came with more tzatziki, but really this platter is all good by me. The hummus has lots of flavor. The baba ganoush has the natural sweetness from the eggplant. The falafel is hot and has a crunchy exterior. Yum! I like the moussaka, which has a rich bechamel and a soft and light texture or the grilled souvlaki. For a lighter option grab a beef and lamb gyros with a salad. When you come, there is free parking in Puck’s Alley and takeout if you’re on the move. For dinner there have only ever been a couple other tables when I’ve been there, so it’s also a mellow place to dine in.

We actually stared at «the fat Greek»(another Greek restraunt) but when we got there, they said that they were sold out of everything except fish and falafel. So we left and came here. This is a little hole in the wall and if you don’t use google map to find it, you may never make it here! There’s a really small parking area right next to the building. And they validate. Once you have conquered finding this place and finding some parking, you will walk inside a quaint little restraunt. I walked into a wine menu on the table and was really surprised that a little place like this has a nice selection of wine and some beer. We ordered Greek fries with garlic mayo(I don’t know what made them Greek fries) but the garlic mayo was good! And we got some calamari and spanakopita to start. We also ordered a mixed gyro plate that came with beef and lamb slices and a marinated chicken along with salad and pita. We ordered a falafel sandwich and a beef and lamb gyro sandwich. All of our dishes were really good. The chicken that came with the mixed plate was a little different. The best little gem that we ordered was at the end of our meal. We ordered some baklava. Most of the time when you order baklava, the filling consists of finely chopped nuts and loads of brown sugar. This one came with whole pieces of nuts and pistachios in the middle and some brown sugar! It was great! The waitress was very pleasant also. If you have never tried this place, you may wanna give it a try!

The food here is just okay. Honestly, I think I just come here because it’s convenient. The french fries are always soaked in grease, the falafels are always a little burnt(ew), and the service is never very enthusiastic or kind. But– they are quick and cheap and even have booze and sometimes that’s all you really need!

Have seen this restaurant here for years and finally decided to try something other than the Fat Greek, what a mistake. For starters, the restaurant is pretty dirty, especially towards the kitchen, bathroom area and especially in the kitchen(you can see in when you go to the bathroom). Tried the beef/lamb gyro with fries. The gyro was rather average and the fries were absolutely horrible. They were soggy and drenched in oil. Not sure how this place stays in business other than the fact that it’s located near the University of Hawaii. I’d hit the Fat Greek instead located just five minutes away on Waialae Avenue.

First time trying it. Sunday afternoon and not busy at all. Waitress was nice and food came out on a timely matter. The portions are big. I got the chicken gyro. It was so delicious and just right. It came with a salad, pita bread and shredded boneless chicken. I think I’m going to start coming here more often!

Pretty darn good. My beef lamb gyro was as expected. Plenty of meat and normal filling. Nothing spectacular but very good. The pita was very soft and fresh. My husband got take out so the fries were limp as expected. But I could see how it would be quite good fresh. The thing that I really loved was the baklava! Omigod it was good. Usually the baklava I’ve had at other places are somewhat soggy and flat and just drenched. This baklava had some height, flaky, and stuffed with delicious whole pistachios. I think it was well priced. Would definitely come back.

Fantastic food! The humus and calamari make great starters. The grilled mix plate chicken, shrimp and lamb surrounded by Greek salad and delicious rice was a complete meal! The Taj Mahal Lager was really refreshing!

Decent greek food, a little pricey. Onestars due to slow service they desperately need another server to get this place going… Third time I’ve been here in a row that Ive had to wait 20 minutes to get my order taken. On my most recent visit I waited 30 minutes to have someone else that got there way later than me get their order taken. No apology from server, no acknowledgement for being poorly served on the way out.

I’ve been to real Greek Restaurants, I’ve been to great Greek Restaurants in the Heart of Chicago. This place by far isn’t bad at all. Just not the over the top experience. The food is good. Sometimes you just need a beef/lamb dish to mix up your week a little. I like the fresh Greek feta cheese on the crisp tomato and cucumbers with the bed of leaf lettuce. Pitas are warm and the meat is not too greasy and just enough taste to be different. I like a gyro now and then. Price is better than most for Honolulu area but not as much of a deal for struggling college students but still good value– Greek and Italian food is wonderful to keep one from losing it while drinking. Desert– bakalava is wonderful. Super sweet just like I like it. Not the fanciest place but I could see a nice date night here.

Every once in a while when we get a craving for a gyros salad and hummus we usually come here. The staff is friendly and the food is consistent.

Of all the fast-Greek style restaurants in Honolulu, this one is still my favorite! The combination of food quality, taste, price, and portion size make me give it 5 stars! Located along University near Coyne, there are lots of places to eat, drink, and shop. The restaurant is part of Puck’s Alley, so there’s parking out back. During the week, they validate for 1 free hour, free all day Sundays. The restaurant has plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating. I feel the majority of their business is take-out, but it is worth eating-in for freshness. I love how greasy and hot the food always is– the fries drip with goodness. Their meat is fresh and flavorful; salads and leafy greens crisp. The tzaziki is tart and excellent. I love the side of thick mayonnaise for the fries, try mixing it with sriracha and/or ketchup. The pitas are always fresh and moist, they never split. All the dishes are reasonably priced. Drinks are available in store– they have a small selection of beers and wines. This is a great quick sit-down restaurant to start off a night of drinking at Tropics Taphouse or before some well deserved ice cream at Bubbie’s across the street!

Good simple fast cheap Greek food. I got the gyros salad and hummus for lunch and am stuffed. The server was also really kind. They also validated the parking. The wasn’t empty but not too crowded, a good crowd for eating lunch. Only 4 stars because the lamb was a little dry and nothing super special about it.

It’s all GREEK to me. On the suggestion of a friend, we ended up here for a bite to eat after the movies. Admittedly, I had never heard of this place before, and therefore my response was not as enthusiastic as expected. I assured my friend I had had Greek food before and it would be ok. And our meal was certainly a very«ok» experience. LOCATION: Puck’s Alley near UH Manoa. Parking available on the ground or second level. The storefront is on University Avenue and is easily recognizable by the blue colored bench seating, and Greek-letter inspired signage. NOTE: Credit cards accepted. The restaurant is a decent size, and makes good use of the space with a good amount of tables and chairs available(I especially liked how the tables weren’t placed too close together). FOOD: We started with the hummus. The portion was enough for the two of us, but not sure if I’d recommend this for four people or more(depending how hungry you are). My friend and I both I ordered the beef and lamb sandwich, while I chose fries and he the salad. I love fries so that choice was a given. However, I will say that the salad looked quite delicious(I wish I took a photo), and will probably order that instead on a future visit. The sandwich was very satisfying, with generous portions of both vegetables and meat. In my humble opinion, I thought the price point for all our food was very reasonable, especially for the sandwiches and sides($ 9.95 = Sandwich + Fries or Salad). SERVICE: Satisfactory. The lone server was friendly as well as patient. Other customers were seated after we were and she did her best to attend to all. BOTTOMLINE: Affordable Greek food at Puck’s Alley.

Good food, I usually get the beef and lamb gyro with fries. It’s pretty much what I’d expect from a college area located café. I guess I got spoiled with pita pit while I was at Oregon state tho, bc not only is this place not quote as yummy, but they’re a bit pricey for catering to the«college crowd.» They also don’t have nearly as many quick easy meals to go, as expected for college stupid a on the go! Overall, 3 stars :)

Didn’t expect much and wasn’t pleasantly surprised. The gyro loaf was meh, the cucumber sauce even more meh, and pita even … Well you get the picture. Just not sure why you can’t even get OK fast food American Greek in this damn state, it ain’t hard. Lamb on a spit, cucumber sauce, pita, onion, tomato … Not hard. No parking either to make it worse. Not as bad as Greek Marina or Fat Greek but barely so.

The Greek corner is a little restaurant in pucks alley that understandably caters to the college crowd. Don’t expect much, even though the owners also run the Greek place in Koko Marina. The service was really great, but the food is hit or miss. I liked the babaganoush, but really could have done without the stuffed grape leaves. I love stuffed grape leaves and these ones were obviously microwaved right before they were served – kinda warm on the outside and cold on the inside. I wanted to get the lamb shank dish I had at the koko Marina location, but there was a little«sold out» sticker on the menu. I think they must have stopped offering it at this location for awhile because the sticker looked pretty old. Unfortunate. I got the lamb kebab and enjoyed it a lot, but for $ 15 and the sad greek salad that came with it, I don’t think it was worth it. I loved the Greek salad at the Greek Marina because it was fresh and came with those kalamata olives. The salad that came with my kebab was a little wilty with no olives!!! I was so disappointed! I tried some Greek fries with the yummy garlic mayo that come with them and those were pretty great. I can see how the gyro/fries combination would be the big seller here with the college kids and their tight budgets.

There’s slim pickings for Greek on Oahu and I’d count Greek Corner as a solid place for Greek. I had the fish gyro which was delicious(lots of greens, super soft pita, good sauce, and the fish was moist and nicely cooked). My husband had the lamb souvlaki which he very much enjoyed — the lamb was done medium and the meat was tender. The wait time was a bit long, though. We were the first customers on a Friday night so that might’ve been it.

First off we had a great time! Our friends from the Mainland invited us to dinner and we were very happy to see them and their family. Now to the review: What is wrong with the ownership? DO you not get it? Imagine there is similar or better Greek food at other local restaurants and they are Corkage free? What do you think will happen? Of course people will choose the other places thats why your almost empty. DO you really think the $ 10– corkage is the way someone wants to start their dinner? I know you have 4 – 5 crappy wine choices which most chefs wouldn’t cook with but that is not a WINELIST is it? So why penalize those of us who bring a decent bottle? On to the food, not bad but not memorable. The Humus was not good. In fact worst ever in Honolulu. One big Oily mess. Whole Foods can kick your ass. in their take away dept. The Chicken Skewer thing was good but who’s going to return? All things considered a return visit is unlikely and the owners should take a couple of minutes and correct some of the things mentioned. Good luck…

The bf and I came in on a Saturday night craving some gyros. The restaurant was empty with only one other party. We ordered the spanokopita($ 4.95) and two gyro sandwiches, one with salad and one with fries($ 9.95 each). It’s only $ 6.95 if you just order the gyro. The spanokopita came out with two measly pieces with a whole lot of side salad. I was so disappointed and my bf commented that it was something that could likely be purchased in the frozen section of costco. The gyros were good, if I was returning(which I am likely not), this is what I would order. They weren’t anything spectular-blow-my-mind good, but it satisfied my Greek/gyro cravings. The salad was just typical salad with some lettuce, onion, tomatoes, and feta. My boyfriend’s fries though… that should have it’s own review because it was so bad. I wish I could dedicate an entire review to the fries or rather the lack of «fries.» I don’t know what«Greek» fries are supposed to taste like but they were disgusting. It was not crispy at all and they were so soft to the point where picking one up would cause it to break and fall over. The«fries» were drenched in oil and it was seeping through the paper it was served on. It was literally swimming in grease. I would suggest NOT to order this because it left the worst taste in my mouth after eating just one… never again and not even once if possible. I was also a little irritated that I paid an extra $ 3 for the salad when the spanokopita came with salad. I had only ordered the salad as a side because I didn’t know the appetizer also comes with salad(it doesn’t say that on the menu). So no one ate the salad that came with the spanokopita and I wasted $ 3. Parking was good, service was ok, and food was meh. I’m pretty sure I can get the same if not better gyros elsewhere so I see no real reason to return. I was quite disappointed on my hunt for some good Greek food.
