This was my first UYE that I was able to make and it was a blast. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but from my first time experience, it was a lot of fun. I met a lot of other Unilocalers and got to learn more about the Unilocalers I already knew. Michael C. and Jacob N. did a great job in picking a great place to host the UYE. The food and drinks were amazingly delicious and very affordable. I love delicious food for cheap prices. Feels like I am making money off of the place. We also had a private room to keep our Unilocalyness contained.

Due to work, I got here a little late and started off with a nice froze glassed of Kirin (
). Mmm it totally relaxed me from such a busy day at work. I was a bit hungry so everyone on my table ordered a bunch of awesome food form the Happy Hour Menu and we shared (
). I loved all the food and wanted to take out another order of everything. What really hooked me was the pesto pasta. I love pesto and this was a delicious idea. YUMMMERS!
I will definitely try to make it out to more UYEs. After this one, I feel like I am a little addicted. I just hope the future UYEs fit into my work schedule.
Thanks Again to Michael C. and Jacob N. for hosting this amazing event and introducing me to this amazing place. I will definitely be coming back here again with my friends. The food is so worth it!!!

I’d like to send out a SUPER HUGE MAHALO to my awesome co-​host for this event, Michael C., and especially to all the awesome Yeeps who were able to make it out to make this such a fun and memorable experience! I also want to give a shout out to the awesome staff at Chez Kenzo for preparing such delicious food and drinks and to the service staff, especially our main server Steven for his awesome service considering the chaos that was going on in that room!
We were lucky enough to get the semi-​private side/​back room area reserved for our group, and it worked out perfectly! I’m sure the staff at Chez Kenzo was glad they put us in that room since, as keeping with Unilocaltastic event tradition, we were loud and rowdy as all heck! :D I think the round of sake shots, courtesy of the awesome Brian M. helped contribute to that! Thanks for the shots Brian!!!
I had a ton of fun with everyone there, and I’m looking forward to the next time I get to hang out with all you wonderful yeeps! SYOY!!!

Why 5 stars?
Well, first of all, Chez Kenzo and his staff did a great job in serving our motley group. Our waiter (1 person mind you) was in charge of our private room and did a fantastic job. The kitchen prepared fantastic appetizers. Once again, I may be one of the last to post my review… so rather than to be redundant…
Honolulu’s Unilocal group is Hawaii No Ka Oi. Always, with open arms and open heart they welcome everyone as a «friend». As each event passes, I become friends with many more folks whom I never had the pleasure of meeting.

When there’s a room full of Unilocalers and a round of $ 2 sake shots for all (Thaaaaanks Brian M!!!), I’m pretty sure that immediately constitutes a good time! Am I right? or am I right?! :D
Congrats to Jacob N. & Michael C. for having just a successful and well attended UYE! No joke when I say «room full of Unilocalers» because there were at least 20 people in our party taking up about eight tables! It was such an eclectic group of outgoing personalities and it made the UYE that much better!
Oh yah, let’s not forget that this was a Happy Hour UYE and that Chez Kenzo’s HH is pretty amazing. The $ 3 sangrias and $ 2 sake shots were totally worth their price, the food was delicious and reasonable at about $ 6 a plate, and I DEFINITELY have to thank Jacob N. & Michael C. for introducing it to me! I love a good happy hour and this one is such a winner!

If you haven’t been here, it’s in the former Verbano’s Restaurant adjacent to the Bank of Hawaii Building. Free parking! Yes, you heard me correct. Park in front of the building in the assigned stalls.
The HH menu (valid from 5−7PM) was impressive with heavy pupus and alcoholic beverages with an emphasis on sake drinks. Since I had a late lunch, I didn’t have a chance to eat much but the pesto pasta was absolutely delicious and very reasonable.
We were in the back of the private room which holds at least 20 people easily. Very cozy yet it felt private too.
For all my close buddies and new friends who were there, you can tease me as much as you like about my entrance! Thanks again Jacob and Michael for hosting one of the best HH!

I only had 2 beers… and 18 shots (kidding!). Much thanks to Jacob N and Michael C for hosting this great UYE, and Brian M for the round of shots! Sake shots to the rescue!
I found the food and drinks to be awesome, and the company, amazing! We were one loud group and we stayed for quite a while, but it was fun! It was so funny with Claire F responding, «Really?!» to everyone’s age. It’s nice how Unilocal breaks age boundaries and brings everyone together!

Chez Kenzo was a great venue for a UYE. They have a semi-​private room in the back, they have a nice selection of drinks and food on their HH menu, and the service was fantastic.
I would like to give a big shout out to Jacob N and Michael C for being great co-​hosts. They made sure everyone was introduced to each other, and then let the night take its course. Great job guys! Hana hou!

Whew! Talk about a lively bunch of Unilocalers! Great to see everyone having a fun time and kicking back a few! Chez Kenzo turned out to be the perfect place to have this UYE, which by-​the-​way was hosted by two good guys, Jacob N and Michael C! I didn’t realize that Chez had a back area where you can hold parties or gatherings! Great food, flowing Kirin and «shots» kept everyone in a festive party mood! Had a great time with all my pals and it was nice meeting new friends in person! Thanks Jacob and Michael, it was a great event and was super fun!

It is safe to say that Jacob N. and Michael C.‘s first UYE was a major success :) Great job, guys!
I got there about 30 minutes into the 5 – 7 PM HH and the semi-​private room was already bustling. Some familiar faces and many new ones (which Michael and Jacob were quick to introduce me to)…talk about feeling the Unilocal love right after joining the room ;)
Overall, the food was decent. My favorite dish was the cheese goyza! Sounds weird-​looks like a big pancake or omelette-​yields about 6 tasty bites of gooey goodness.
I stuck to my $ 4 Momos, but was told the House Sake is decent. Thanks to Brian M.‘s generosity, 17 Unilocalers can attest to how yummy the sake shots were ;)
Service was really good, considering how large our group was.
What capped off the night beautifully was the fact that Mr. Thomas O. made a special appearance. It was a nice homecoming for our forever intern ;) Like a true rock star, he patiently posed for pictures with all his fans! *no joke, there was a line*
Yesterday was a long day, but it ended on a high note. Food, fun, and friendship-​this UYE was pretty epic ;)

Jacob N. and Michael C. did a fantastic job on their 1^st UYE making sure everyone got properly introduced to each other and of course having a great time!
We all gathered in a semi private room and enjoyed the HH specials by ordering almost the whole menu… lol! Drinks were flowing and laughter was heard throughout the night! Shotz Shotz Shotz!
I was really happy that Grant S. and our very own Thomas O. made it to this event. Awesome seeing Mr O. again.
