This review is based on sales from a stall in the food court in Ala Moana Center in July ’14. I do not know if the Waikiki location still exists and even found out only recently that he was selling cookies again and really looked forward to be getting them again. I was in for a very rude shock! I’ve eaten from Wally since he ran his store on Keeaumoku(where Walmart is) in the late ’70’s early ‘80s(where we’d take off from work down the street and kill time at his shop with him) and years later followed him around the food fairs and have always loved his cookies… up until now. The 1 star is not for the lack of quality of the cookies. That 1 star is for the super insane overpricing of his newly relaunched cookies. What I do not like is the INSANE pricing of $ 12.00 for an 8 oz. bag. I picked up 6 bags per a mainland friend’s request and was floored when I was told the total for 5 half pound bags was over $ 60.00. 2.5 lbs of cookies for sixty bucks plus tax! I’m an idiot but I promised friends cookies from Wally. After they discovered the price they said no more too! What’s even sadder is that you can’t even get the original chocolate chip, mac nut cookies since he’s prevented from making those after selling his name to that mainland company. I DIDNOTBUYINWAIKIKI. I don’t even know if the Waikiki store still exists. I bought these from a shop in the food court of Ala Moana Center. Sorry Wally, I really didn’t want to give you 1 star but you really deserve it this time for the insane prices. I though you were already pushing it at $ 7.00 for the same sized bag at the Eat the Street events.

Drop by the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani hotel in the evening to much on these delectable delights. Wally doesn’t go to the farmers markets anymore. Serendipitously passed by on the way to Marukame Udon & got a friend hooked on his chocolate chip w/pecans & butterscotch with mac nuts. =)
