I finally made it to The Come Back Grill. The bad news is, it will have to make a real come back or I will have to come back real soon. I learned the owner has sold the business. He will be closing down next week so, hurry in if you want a final meal at this popular Hoover spot.

This place has the best burger in town! Seriously, it’s so big, fresh and flavorful, the fact that it’s so cheap never ceases to amaze. Like others have said, the cheesesteak is fantastic and probably is the best in town as well. Everything is fresh, made to order and very affordable. The place isn’t much to look at, but with food this good, who cares? If you haven’t already, give these guys a look!

Thank you fellow Unilocalers! We only stopped due to your reviews. Excellent food and an even nicer owner/cook! We had the grilled chicken sandwich and chicken Philly wrap. The home made dressing was the perfect match for the sandwich. The servings are very generous so plan on sharing. Looking forward to our next trip down I-20 so we can stop in again! Stopped in once again and it was just as good! We brought a fellow Bulldog with us this time and he enjoyed it as much as us! Next trip we plan on ordering something new… we couldn’t resist the grilled chicken sandwich & wrap again!

I’ve driven past this place countless times, never slowing, assuming it wouldn’t be there long… Prior to the last couple years since The Come Back Grill took over this location was a revolving door for failed restaurants. I’ve been craving Mediterranean for a few days so I went to Unilocal to see where to go. Thanks to countless glowing Unilocal reviews I went against my preconceived notions about this place and went in today and grabbed lunch to go. My office is minutes from here so it was convenient. The interior is small and dimly lit, the owner sat at a small table enjoying lunch and there were no patrons inside close to noon. I begin to doubt my Unilocal brethren’s views on this establishment thinking we must not be talking about the same place; however I stayed and looked over the menu. The owner was friendly and recommended the falafel after I studied the menu for a few minutes and told him I was torn between the falafel and the gyro. He informed me that if I hadn’t had falafel from his establishment I hadn’t had falafel. With his recommendation I ordered the falafel wrap and a side of hummus. By the time I got my food a few other patrons had wondered in and ordered several of which appeared to be regulars which was comforting. I get back to my office and open the bag I have roughly 4 large fresh pitas cut into sections, perfectly griddled with slight char marks and steaming with a nice sized container of hummus for $ 4.00. My optimism subsequently grows… I take the first bite and honestly I was taken aback it was without question the best hummus I’ve ever had. I unwrap the falafel it appears different than I’m accustomed to with a lot of fresh tomato and herbs encapsulating the falafels and spilling out onto the wrapper. I take a bite and well the owner’s strong opinion about his falafel were 100% accurate and it was $ 6.00. The hummus and falafel were the best I’ve had hands down. I will be back! I am so happy that I listened to everyone’s glowing reviews of this place. I’ll never doubt you guys again!
