I love tip top on a sunny monday! You can’t beat $ 1 off hotdogs and the amazing view. It can get a little crowded and you should be prepared to sit outside but the food is delicious and so cheap!

I really wish you guys would stay open past 4:00 sometimes at night I get a craving for a good Hot Dog until recently the only place you can get a hot dog in Hoover is Jack’s. Since I don’t get off work till 5:00pm and have to drive from Homewood to Hoover. I hope you will consider possibly staying open later at least during the Summer hours. I am sure you guys are losing out on a lot of business.

Had cheeseburger, hotdog & chili cheese fries. It was great! Guys behind the counter were great and made us feel welcome. Prices were awesome and the view TIPTOP!

What a neat little place to come by for lunch! We decided to give it a try and were pleased. There is a little bit of seating indoors, where there’s a great view. There are also two areas to sit on either side or out front if you prefer. All in all some tasty decent food for the price.

This place has lost mad respect from me. New management came along and ruined our experience. $ 1.00 hot dog Mondays used to be the highlight of my dreary Monday. They now made the deal only a dollar off. I quit going for the principal that they are nickel and diming their customers. I hate to say that a childhood tradition has now been killed by new management.

Our whole family enjoy our time at Tip Top Grill. The lunch prices were in the 2 – 3 dollar range for us. I don’t think anyone else can beat the view or prices at this restaurant. If you are looking for gourmet food, this place isn’t for you. Tip Top Grill is a great place to take children, small dogs, or even a date.

We actually rented out Tip Top Grill for our rehearsal dinner and it was an AMAZING time for an OUTSTANDING price. They roped off the restaurant and allowed us to put up signs saying that we were having a private event and pretty much allowed us to do what we wanted(within reason — beer could not be in a can but that was pretty much the only stipulation). They allowed us full access to their soda machine and had two staff members there the whole time to assist with any issues. We ordered pizzas from down the road and had a keg and all watched the sun go down over the mountain — I could not have asked for a more perfect dinner with family the day before my wedding. They even put up those little twinkly lights for us! If you are looking for a chill and fun place to host a small, private event you should most definitely consider checking with them regarding renting it out for an evening. :)

The view at Tip Top is breath taking to say the least. I loved catching the sunset here, you’ll often spot photographer here shooting the view as well. The food here to me is so-so, the burgers/fries are pretty good, not really memorable. Breakfast is mediocre also. More of a mom and pop shop type food. But hey, it’s cheap and you can’t beat their bad azz view!!!

The food is not much to write home about but the view is amazing. Prices are about on par with a fast food joint. Great spot for a springtime lunch date!

Breakfast sandwiches, hotdogs, and burgers with a view. Atmosphere– Little diner way up on a bluff over looking Ross Bridge. Lots of outdoor seating to take in the view. Need to spend a lot more time cleaning the tables. Staff– friendly Food– It’s ok. It isn’t great. It’s not bad it’s just very ho hum. Really the only reason to stop here is for the view. Not a great meal so don’t get to excited.

I always drive past this place in the mornings and wanted to try it. I heard that it serves a great breakfast but the first time k tried it was during lunch. The food was worse than at a local ball park concessions stand. The chili tasted like it came from a can, the hot dogs and burgers tasted frozen, and our buns were stale. The only redeeming part of our meal was the amazing view while we are. It’s such a disappointment to have such a prime location wasted on this food stop. I’m not sure I’m willing to give it a second try even for its famous breakfast.

Beautiful view and good fast food. Check hours before heading that way… not correct on this site.

My family recently moved to the area and this is one of their favorite lunch spots. The grill itself where you go to order looks like a trailer and is a little divey. But, obviously you come here for the views. The outdoor seating gives you a beautiful view of the valley. There is a counter where you go to order and the menu is posted on the wall. They have the typical grill food: hot dogs, burgers, chicken fingers etc. I ordered the chicken fingers and fries and they were a lot better than I expected. Another plus, everything is extremely low priced. They also have breakfast which I did not try. Definitely worth visiting for the views alone, but not a bad place to grab lunch either.

The food is ok, not stellar. But who are you kidding, you don’t come here for the food as much as the view. It is serene and peaceful. I will admit thought the 2 guys that are running the place are more than helpful and friendly. This is a place that you will come back many times for the view.

Really basic menu with decent food but the view is awesome. Order from a counter then carry outside to eat.

Tiny place but amazing views. Food was good. Not a huge menu but I really enjoyed my burger with sauce and onions, of course! French fries were tasty. Breakfast looks great. Can’t wait to come back and try it. Definitely a place to come just for the views. Will be bringing out of towners for sure. Lovers leap is right there as well so wear your sneaks so you can check it out. See picture I posted.

Just go. If not for the food, then the view is worth it. Tip Top Grill has your run of the mill hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken fingers that you can smother and cover in chili, cheese, slaw, sauerkraut, etc. but it’s the view that really makes this place special and brag-worthy. Monday night $ 1 hotdogs are a game changer for sure. I got a chili slaw dog and chili cheese fries(because why not) and they were amazing and just what I wanted. It’s an old gas station transformed into a quaint little diner. Go, now!

It’s a hilltop diner. Burgers, dogs, corn dogs, chicken tenders and fries. It’s not fancy, but the view is amazing, the staff is very friendly and the view is amazing. Looking out over the valley, we watched a hawk below us. If you want a fun little stop and a quick bite, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Great little spot to grab a bite. We were on our way through town and thanks to Unilocal we found this place with great views, above average inexpensive food and a patio where we could sit with our pups! That’s an all around win for our needs this morning. The sandwiches are a little small but really yummy. I had the BLT and the hubs had a ham egg and cheese. We also split a small biscuit and gravy. It was the perfect amount of food. The b& gravy was $ 1.95 and the sandwiches were about 3 to 4 bucks. The sandwiches are only about the size of the palm of your hand so I recommend the additional side. The BLT had a lot of crispy crunchy salty perfect bacon and the lettuce was romaine instead of boring old iceberg. Big plus right there. They open early for breakfast and are open till 7pm. It would be a great place to grab a burger and watch the sunset. Come by here. It is worth it.
