The was my first time trying The Golden Spoon and I was very disappointed. I doubt I will be returning again anytime soon. The trio of 3 different types of silver dollar pancakes were so small I almost thought it was a joke. This is the first time I’ve ever walked out of a breakfast place still hungry. They weren’t cheap either, but at least they tasted good. My friends plate was cold all together, which he received about 5 minutes before mine came out. The service we received was also very unsatisfactory. We were given coffee in dirty cups… mine still had lipstick on the edge from the last user. We weren’t given any creamers and the server walked away as I asked for some and never came back except to bring the food. She didn’t bring any butter and once again, walked away so fast I couldn’t even ask. I had to flag her down for more coffee too. Overall, I won’t be coming back and was disappointed.

I just love their ice cream in the summer time and haven’t tired anything else. Many people say they need to upgrade on the décor. But it is a small dinner in Hopkinton that started many generation.

Decent diner food, service was acceptable. What wasn’t acceptable were the multiple flies in bathe dining area. An occasional bug is unavoidable, but there were at least 4 or 5 in our area, very unappetizing.

Cute hold-in-the-wall with lots of regulars. Nothing special but decent breakfast.

My friend got the BBQ chicken wrap and got food poisoning later that night. My dad coined it ‘The Greasy Spoon’.

Wasn’t all that appetizing. I hit my head on the wall due to cramped seating. A gross stain was on the table in front of my friend. I was refused use of the outlet because it was«occupied» by a «computer»

Nice place for breakfast or brunch. You go in and seat yourself. The menu is basically the same with every breakfast places. I ordered the lobster roll along with home-fries suggested by another Unilocal user because I did not see it on the menu. Food was great, service is what you expect at a place like this. Nice place, will go again for the lobster rolls.

I always enjoy the food I get there and my boyfriend didn’t complain about the prime rib and egg special we had once but the service is definitely lacking. I get it that it’s a townie café and is a greasy breakfast place but once our food was brought to us, our waitress never returned to ask how it was or ever noticed we were in need of refills. Maybe we were sitting in a hidden spot but that is so not our problem! We’ve also noticed more than once that people who come in and are obviously new to the joint, just stand by the door awkwardly because there is no sign that says to seat yourself and no one up front really ever greets you or welcomes you. Overall, it’s a cheap spot that we never have to wait at when we’re hungry for some breakfast and the food IS good. But they do need to recognize that even though most folks coming in are regulars and/or townies, they need to still treat every customer the best way possible. Up that service level, Spoon Family!

5 stars because it fulfilled exactly what I am looking for in a diner brunch. Affordable prices. Lots of options. Waffles, Benedict’s, pancakes. The grilled cornbread was an awesome addition. Casual. Not fancy. Not a «white table cloth» type of brunch. But if you are looking for eggs, bacon, coffee etc this place is great.

It’s a simple breakfast place, food was good and waitstaff friendly! Nothing fancy and reasonable priced. I would come back again!

The food was quite good diner fare. I would have given it 4 stars except that my breakfast potatoes were cold. The waitress refilled our coffee and was very pleasant, but she never asked how the food was. I had two eggs with the potatoes and toast with a side of bacon. It was nice to get raisin toast. The bacon was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. My husband had oatmeal and a fruit cup and he said his food was just fine.

Passed through here on the way across the state. Place is small but the wait staff was moving around quickly to serve everyone in time. Menu had a good balance of lunch and breakfast food. I had the Denver omelet and it tasted good to me. Great place for a quick meal

What a great diner! The $ 9 lobster roll is loaded with lobster with just a bit of mayo. Bun is toasted, fries are served extra crispy. This place is a must-try.

Food good. odd place. Bunch of teenagers hanging out. They couldnt really be bothered that there was a customer in the house. Hey waitress you are supposed to notice when my glass is empty and im done with my food looking for the check… and I was overcharged with the wrong price from the menu and my cobb salad was missing blue cheese.

I generally like visiting small independent businesses. Went there for lunch and was underwhelmed by the service and the quality of food. I will however go there for dinner and check it out once again.

this is a very family friendly home cooked food restaurant. It is not fancy but it is real food, not pre portioned crap like chain restaurants. The breakfast is good, the dinners are excellent and reasonable. real fresh vegetables, real potatoes, fresh seafood and the onion rings are fresh thin & awesome.

So here I am settling in my new digs in the metro west and my buddy who I moved in with and I decide that we should find a breakfast place this morning. Ever since I moved out of the Dot my buddy and I have been craving McKenna’s. Cheap, a lot of food and really good. I did a quick query on Unilocal for a breakfast/brunch place on my phone and I found the Golden Spoon. Hopkinton, decent wealthy town, should be a good place! Why not? Yeah, why not. Red Flag #1: Upon parking we see two people _PASSIONATELY_sucking face in the parking lot. Get a room guys. Seriously. Red Flag #2: Diner esque setup with rickety under maintained seating arrangements complete with duct tape holding it all together. Anyway, let’s look past this and get on to what really matters. Service: Yeah, it was there. It was attentive and courteous, but nothing special. Food: Dear god, 8 dollars for french toast and only three pieces? No thanks. It wasn’t even good! Soggy and tasteless was the best way to describe it. My friend had the blueberry pancakes and said they were decent, again, decent but nothing special. Also, what breakfast place only gives you the little pre portioned cups of half and half with your coffee? What if I wanted to get milk? No, there is a charge for that. Overall, not impressed. Make the effort to go someplace better and cheaper in the city.

The Golden Spoon is a fancy name for The Greasy Spoon but that’s not a bad thing. This is a breakfast joint that I frequent every few months with a friend who lives down the street. If it wasn’t for the three rooms’ worth of tables and booths, the service and food quality could be mistaken for a diner. While the Spoon has an outdoor ice cream window and recently opened for dinner, I don’t know anything about either. I only know about the breakfast menu: eggs, omelettes, blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes, raisin bread french toast, affordable prices.
