We went on a Wednesday night for beers and open mic night. There were only two performers and a few other people but the bartender was awesome. Good fast service and a friendly atmosphere.

Super friendly staff, short and decent craft beer selection, and tasty burgers & sandwiches.
Stopped in Houghton on an annual pilgrimage north to Mackinac. Google maps was no help in identifying a good place to eat late on a Thursday night but the locals at at Ye Old Tavern were spot on in their recommendation of the Back Door.
There were only a handful of people there when we walked in but everyone said hello and welcomed us. There were 4 TVs on and they offered to put on whatever football game we wanted.
Brittany (though we called her Remy) was a fantastic server: friendly, helpful, & funny. Burgers & fries were great. Beer was cold.
