Tacos are bomb! I searched this place for taco Tuesday and came with my roommate. I got the carne asada tacos and were so yummy! I recommend to anyone in the area. I’ll be back :)

One of my favorite tacos places in Houston. The Tinga beef are my fave. Slow roasted beef in a spicy chipotle sauce. Not too spicy but so good. The r serves in sets of three small tacos for 3.99. Awesome deal. I also love the fresh lemonade. Tortilla are fresh made in house. Great authentic Mexican taco house.

It’s pretty amazing that 100% Taquito started as a school project by students at UH — and you know what, I’m more than happy to support their endeavor that has expanded to classic Mexican street tacos in a kitschy indoor space. 3 tacos per order, and almost everything is under $ 5 — a steal! In fact, almost everything is a steal here. You can easily get 3 tacos, chips and salsa, and a drink for under $ 10 — although I think 3 tacos and a drink is enough. I ordered tacos mixtos, which includes asada(beef fajita), tinga(shredded beef), and mole(shredded chicken). While all 3 were good, I found the asada to be not as juicy as the other 2 — nothing a little lime and salsa can’t fix. 100% has an extensive menu that is all quite inexpensive — if you work nearby, I envy you!

This place has been a long time favorite of mine. They have a line you order in when you walk in and then give you a buzzer when your food is ready. The food is very good and their sweat waters like horchata are one of the best in town. The horchata here has such a sweet and creamy flavor and is addicting. I have to share with someone because I just feel to guilty guzzling the whole thing down with all the food I get. I love their sopes, which are homemade corn tortillas with black beans, la vaquita cheese, onions and cilantro. Then there is the quesadillas which most Americans will say is a cheese taco, but no, its actually the authentic quesadilla, not your Taco Bell or taco cabana quesadilla you’re probably familiar with. Basically a true quesadilla in the Mexican culture is a cheese taco filled with your choice of meat. I love their tortilla soup from here as well. I don’t know what it is, but the flavor of the soup is amazing. They will put fresh avocado slices on it too. If you’re interested in dessert, they have that as well. The flan is one of my favorites.

I love this place! The food is always great! It does get packed and parking can be a issues at times but the food makes up for it! It’s the closest to authentic Mexican food that is a restaurant. We also love to order to and eat at home if too packed. Deserts are great and they serve traditional drinks! Can’t wait to go back!

Can you believe that this is my 400th review? — Wow how the time flies. It is fitting that this review is for something that is muy caliente — and I am serious — it is hot, hot, hot. I started with the chips and salsa($ 2.29), but I didn’t mind considering the size of the order. It is easily enough for 3 – 4 people. I then had the Pastor Sopes(#63). These were delicious — the perfect size for a lunch entrée. My one HUGE tip is that everything here is very spicy. If you are not good with ‘heat’ in food, this is probably not going to be a fit for you. Otherwise, it was a good deal.

YUM-ME! This place is awesome at ANY time of day. My husband and I were having a late lunch and couldn’t find a place open for us on a Sunday that sounded appealing. So, we stopped by 100% Taquito. Not only was it Dia de los Muertos and they had awesome decorations, but they also have amazing prices! We each ordered 3 tacos with flour and corn tortillas with a soft drink. I’m pretty sure our total(including tip) was around $ 20. Now, that’s difficult to find inside the loop and with quality food! I hope to be back with visitors, family, and even my girls if I ever feel like I need real Mexican food. YUMM!

Simple and casual décor. Good for a casual meet up. Nice choice of mexican sodas. The chicken tacos were very good. Service was fast. I would reccommend.

There really aren’t too many vegetarian options here. I usually order two vegetarian tostadas. I could easily finish a third and the prices are cheap enough that I do sometimes. They sell(what I assume to be) authentic Mexican food. This place is NOT Tex-Mex. So there’s no lettuce and tomatoes, and the usual Tex-Mex-y things on it unless you ask for them. Instead, the tostada comes out with beans, cheese, and you can add salsa to it from the free salsa by the drinks. And unlike most Mexican restaurants, there is no free chips and salsa. And the worst part… there is no queso! The décor is pretty unique. There’s super random things inside including an antique car. Who would have thought to put that inside a Mexican restaurant?

The food was delicious. Great size, decent price. Steak sopes were so flavorful. Tacos were bursting with flavor. Cute décor inside that mimics food stands and day of the dead themed. Would come here again!

Was in Houston for the weekend and visited my old reliable taco place… Not much has changed since i left a few year ago… Same menu, same good tacos, same prices… It’s not the best taco in the world, but it works for me!

This place is alright, honestly I wouldn’t go there again! I guess you get what you paid for, it’s very cheap. But the taste of the food is just meh. They charge for the chips and Salsa, you have to ask for napkins like 20 times and each time they will give you only one. You have to beg for napkins!

Wow, was this place busy at 2pm on a Saturday! Little parking to be had, and a pretty packed inside. Along with that, it wasn’t all cleaned up. I guess we caught the tail end of lunch. The place is very unique and cute with its Mexican street scene décor and car and half car for decoration. Futbol played on the TVs, too, and the volume wasn’t intrusive. I had the #6 combo, which included mole, tinga, and asada on corn tortillas all for under $ 5. It wasn’t as tasty as the Taco Guild in Phoenix, but the tacos there are also $ 4 – 5EACH. 100% Taquito was a total steal to get three tacos for so little, and they were good, basic tacos, too. The meat was tender and flavorful. I did have an issue with the tinga taco pretty much exploding in my hand when I bit in, because it was so juicy, but fortunately it didn’t get on my clothes. The mole had a great, deep flavor. I really loved the fresh tortillas, too. That’s become my hallmark of a really good, authentic taco shop. I did feel like I wanted a little more to the tacos, some texture variety, something to give it more of a boost. We shared chips and guacamole. Those were kinda mediocre. The guac didn’t have much flavor or kick, but it was chunky the way I like it.

I used to love coming here but not anymore. I had a $ 45 to go order I placed over the weekend and it was beyond disappointing. The amount of meat in the tacos was a joke! Even the tortillas tasted terrible(not heated properly). The tostadas were super sloppy, you couldn’t even tell what they were when I opened the to go container. I never call establishments to complain when something is not right because I work in the industry and understand mistakes happen. But this time, I was so disappointed that I had to call. I spoke to the manager on duty, Julian, and he was very rude. When I explained to him my disappointment in the food I received and also made a point to let him know I wasn’t looking for a refund but only to let them know the food was terrible, he laughed! He told me they weigh the meat and basically assured me I was wrong. Had ZERO customer service skills. Save your money and visit elsewhere! I receive way better customer service and food quality when I visit my local taco trucks.

Ok, first of all, lets cut it with the«omg this are totally the closest to authentic Mexican in Houston» ummm no, don’t think so. Give me some lengua, tripa or suadero at a taco truck and there’s your closest to authentic Mexican tacos. Don’t get me wrong, I like this place but«best in the city» far from it. Now, moving on from the reality check. I really like this place’s asada on corn. I usually get two orders(each comes with three) plus a drink and I am good. I get cilantro and onions, add a squeeze of lime and the salsa verde cruda. That’s it, that is all you need from this place to be satisfied. I’ve tried other stuff on their menu and well… no, i don’t think so. I’m not going to go into it because I’ve already told you what to order. Now, dessert, get the tres leches. Really some of the best in town. Overall, might be slightly overpriced for what the sell but, c’mon. From the location alone we know what they want their customer base to be. I’m not being cheap here, just not what I usually pay for GREAT tacos. Will I go back? when i get the craving for their asada on corn, yeah.

An indoor street taco spot. Think about that. I think the décor making it look like a roadside taco hut adds a ton to the experience. Appreciated the various salsas at the bar that you can grab on your own– no limits to savory. The tacos: al pastor was good, not dry and they made sure to include some pineapple in it. If anything, maybe a little sweeter because of the pineapple chunks, but I enjoy that. Went with the corn to stay true, but the flour tortilla option could be nice. The tostada: The chicken tinga was spot on. Reminded me of home. Simple flavors that came together with the other tostada fixings: lettuce, beans, and cheese. Would prefer diced tomato instead of the wedge though. The corn: missed the mark in my opinion. Didn’t remind me of the street corn that I’ve come to crave. The corn was also a bit tough. Overall: a solid go to.

100% Taquito is modeled after a street market in Mexico. You walk in and the floors look like brick streets and there are signs showing different offerings. It’s pretty cool. While your options may be a little limited in some respects, 100% Taquito delivers at about 85%. Unlike other Mexican restaurants, you don’t get chips and salsa for free. You have to pay for them. And they don’t have queso. Nor can you buy the chips by themselves without salsa or guac. I had the beef fajita quesadilla(which at 100% Taquito is actually a taco with cheese). Of course I’ll put cheese on anything! Also got chips and salsa which were solid and fresh melon juice which was one of my favorite parts of the meal. Houston Press voted their Tres Leches the best in Houston and you can either get it plain, with caramel, or strawberries. You can get a good cheap meal here so it’s definitely worth a visit.

The tacos are great here… leaves you wanting to order more of their delicious items. I also tried their crunchy tostadas with beans, lettuce, tomatoes, beef, shredded cheese and Pico on top. I had 2 for 5.00 which it was well worth the price. Plenty of tables inside with a side items bar to add to your tacos or whatever you order. I actually visited for first time the weekend of Halloween where they celebrated the day of the dead in the Mexican culture. It was packed that night. They may have it again next year which brought in alot of business. Their Margaritas were also great. Be careful when ordering a second one. I thought there was no liquor in them but it creeps up after the first one. Lol… they are pretty strong even If you can’t taste the liquor in them which is great. Overall great experience.
